Budd Lake Animal Hospital Hackettstown, Pennsylvania

The girls behind the desk are so incredibly nice that you instantly feel like family. And that unfortunately is where the good experience ends. They tell you vaccines are free, but what the sign doesn't say that even when you come back for the booster they charge you the visit. Regardless of whether they check your dog or just give them a shot. They told us the gave my dog a vaccine and we found out later they forgot to do it. They sent my dog with a mass to another Dr for an xray and that Dr didn't do mouth masses so I spent 200 for nothing. When I called them back about that they told me then they would take care of her but wouldn't do anything about the money I spent, even though they were the ones that sent me there. They can't handle a dog that has any kind of fear. Their appointments are so far out it doesn't matter if the matter is emergent or not you will still have trouble getting in.

Do not use this Veterinary facility ... they are all about the money and looking to bill you as much as they can. The day after my dogs Physical I noticed his ear had discharge in it. I tried to get back in right away but the next available appointment was a week out. They said I had to pay a recheck fee for something the Vet missed. Do not go here.

They helped calm my son regarding the health of his cat Leo and followed up days later to check Leo's condition. Nice Veterinarian. We will be using them again

We booked a spay and neuter for both our cats sometime last year between November and December. Our cats have been to them before, receiving their initial distemper shot from them with the booster happening weeks later. Covid kicked in so we weren't able to bring them back. However, with all that we still booked for them to get fixed there never being told anything in addition. Prior to their surgery they needed blood work done, which we brought them for and received a call that same night from the vet stating our female cat needs medication. Ok, we picked it up and followed the directions via the vet and was told he'd have to recheck her blood the day of the surgery and it would be an additional $72, we said ok. Fast forward to the night before the surgery we get a call saying the cats need both of their shots and it would be an additional $82 per cat! Like are you serious, the night before the surgery?? Vaccines are supposedly free at this clinic, so why not vaccinate when they did the blood work? Or how about when the cats would be in their care for the surgery? No of course not they'd rather hit us with last minute must do's costing us almost $100 per cat! Needless to say I'm looking for a new more reliable and trustworthy vet.

I had to put my 14 year old cat down. They went above and beyond helping me deal with the process. Very caring people. I highly recommended them for all your pet needs. You won’t be sorry. Again I want to thank the staff for helping me deal with this situation. Your awesome

If you have a dog over 50 lbs it's best you look elsewhere. This vet is clearly afraid of big dogs and needs them to be muzzled and sedated to be seen. Happened to me as I have 1.5 yr German shepherd and my sister in law who has a pitbull puppy. No vet should require such nonsense. It's animal abuse in my opinion. Won't be coming back.

I almost never leave reviews, but Dr. Schneider has changed my world when it comes to veterinary care. I just moved from Charlottesville, VA where my vet refused to do bloodwork on my dog, Copper, and blamed his weight gain and general lethargic behavior on me not taking care of him. I meticulously tracked his food and walked him daily and still no weight loss. The second I walked into the office, Dr. Schneider immediately suggested bloodwork and told me that he was the textbook definition of what hypothyroid looks like in dogs. She was prompt with calling the next day with the results and very kind when answering questions that I had. Three weeks later, Copper is like a totally different dog. He has his energy back, his coat is coming back, he's losing weight, and he is so much happier. I am so, so happy that Dr. Schneider and the team at Budd Lake Animal Hospital took my dog's health seriously and were quick about getting him the treatment he needed. I could not recommend this office enough. EDIT: Dr. Schneider left Budd Lake Animal Hospital due to personal reasons and it has been IMPOSSIBLE to get Budd Lake to transfer my dog's vet records. Both myself and my new vet office have called countess times and they still have yet to be sent. I love Dr. Schneider and am happy that I followed her, especially given how difficult Budd Lake Animal Hospital has been after leaving.

My "old man" (a 13 yr old Shih Tzu) who had been sick for a little over a week but my home treatment was not working (he was not getting any better nor worse, but he stopped eating and drinking - red flag). I had called several places and no one responded as fast as Budd Lake Animal Hosp. They made sure he got in that same day. Meds began working as soon as he got treatment at their facilities, by the next day he was able to open his eye; and by the day after the next, he was acting more like his "needy" self (barking for attention, eating and drinking). <3 Many thanks to Budd Lake Animal Hospital because our pets are also our babies/kids.

Since we moved to hackettstown over 4 years ago we have being using Budd Lake Animal Hospital, for our dogs and cats , we were happy with them but everything looks like is getting bad there, at least with our last two experiences. Back in February I call to make an appointment for one of my dogs he was having trouble walking, they said they were book for the next two weeks, and offered to put my name in a waiting list, never got a phone call, check on any chance again and they told me the same, I honestly was hoping for they to see my dog because we were happy with them, I couldn’t wait more so I took him somewhere else, he is doing great ! Yesterday we had an emergency with another of my dogs, she had a cut and was bleeding a lot, we called and they said they are booked and we will have to take her to Newton Animal Hospital, because they don’t take emergencies but months ago we had appointment for a shot of my dog and we had to wait In The parking lot for over 45 minutes because they were taking care of emergency, so what about us ??? So we had to drive almost an hour with our dog bleeding it was terrify, fortunately they did amazing job and she is recovering. Unfortunately we will never recommend Budd Lake Animal Hospital again and never go back there .

Great experiences with the way they were able to accept looking at us initially at our kitten. We plan to make a change in our cats primary cat-physician to them. Would recommend to others.

I am beyond thrilled that I chose BLAH for my new dog! We have been with them for a year and the entire staff is friendly, responsive, thoughtful, and they are priced wonderfully. I love that they are easy to email with and they don’t waste time with unnecessary visits just to charge you for something that can be handled over the phone/email. I recommend them to everyone I can because all pets and owners deserve to experience BLAH.

Dr.H is wonderful. Very attentive n understanding. Love all the staff, vaccines are free, always, n medication is cheapest around. 5 stars definitely ????????????

This animal hospital is exceptional - the staff and doctors are very caring and attentive to your pet. They take the time to answer all your questions. I would highly recommend them!! Tyler groomed my Gidget and he did an exceptional job. My sweet baby looked absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!! I would not go anywhere else for my pet’s care!!!
