Wonderful, hardworking folks and volunteers here! They really care about all the animals and are a no-kill shelter!

This place is great and take very good care of the animals they have and are very helpful.

Allegany animal shelter is a most amazing place. They rescue animals that in turn rescue the ppl who are blessed to adopt them. I adopted a little dog six months ago...she was the absolute joy of my life while I had her. Such a smart,, the sweetest most goodest girl ever. My health took a serious downward turn at the beginning of this month. Patty and her kind staff helped me rehome my sweet pup,,with a wonderful lady in Bethesda..My pup's new mom keeps in touch with me,,including me in my sweet dogs new life. Thank you to Patty,,her entire staff at the shelter,,and my pup's new mom for giving me such joy. May God bless you all.. 10/12/2021

I wish I could give a negative star review. I got a precious kitten from there and she had a whole bunch of problems. And now she’s on oxygen and getting antibiotics, because she’s so sick. never again.

Yeah, go here if you wanna struggle to take care of a kitten and play with the coinflip of whether or not they might die. Dogs are treated far better than cats in this shelter and all the cats usually come with some sort of problem as if they've been neglected the whole time they've been sheltered. Fleas, various infections, all usually coming in with no warning from anybody at the shelter. This should be some sort of rights violation. Needs to be shut down.

Well kept animals and a lot of care

About 2 yrs ago me and my fiance tried to adopt a dog that we was absolutely in love with... He was going to be my fiance's ESA animal due to having ptsd from child hood trauma... We showed proof of income and our lease bank statements, everything they asked for we provided and we did not get approved.. It was heart wrenching honestly.. We told them we anyway had a male golden retriever named melo so were def animal lovers... We just wish we could adopt a loving animal from there and give it an amazing home

Very loving and concerned about their animals. Eager for good volunteers who will also give their animals good care. Helpful with adoptions.

Nice people and they are very helpful and down to earth. I love to go and see all the dogs and cats. I wish I could take them all home with me!

The coordinator at the shelter couldn't have be nicer with the help of the adoption of my new little fur baby Raphael ???? She walked my daughter through the process, answered all our questions throughly with great patience. Most of the animals are spayed or neutered and have their 1st shots. They are vet checked and healthy. My Raphael is the most adorable, sweetest, kindest cat, he is bringing so much joy to my life. There are so many wonderful kittens, cats and puppies and dogs at the shelter the need the love of someone. If you would like to have a pet /fur baby and are unable to have one at your current home or due to work restrictions consider volunteering with the shelter a few hours when your schedule allows. You will be doing something that will give so much joy and so many animals happy to have someone new to play with or just hold and pet them. Tons of Animals that need forever homes. With most places that you go you are going to staff that goes out of their way and the ones who don’t. I’d rather come here than buy a pet from a seller.

Emily Spears who fosters animals will purposely Fight with you on posts on Facebook. When they don’t even live in the same city. Also insulted me for my spelling and grammar. These are people who you let foster animals? Called and complained and the woman on the phone could careless. Glad i don’t live near here I would never get an animal from here.

I had found a dog on VA AVE and I took it to the shelter so it didn't get hit they were amazing came out got the dog took her in walked her fed her everything I was glad to bring the dog there I hope the dog found a home or its home
