I am very happy with the puppy I purchased from Playful Pets. He is 3.5 mo. old now & so far very healthy. The people who work there are kind & knowledgeable. The pups all looked like they were well cared for. The prices are high, but in line with buying from a breeder. Much safer than buying on line. Thank you Playful Pets for my new adorable family member.

The sales people are very nice, the dogs are cute and the building is clean.

This is my Princess Minnie in November 2016 I got a call about a female chiweenie. I didn't mind the $1300 or the 4 hour trip from upstate New York to Pennsylvania I wanted her. So my husband made the trip on a Saturday. She was tiny and scrawny and smelled. She came with antibiotics!! She bit me right away she was tiny and aggressive 3 lbs little thing. My husband said she was in a box with huge dogs. Explained the aggressive behavior . I called playful pets and they could not explain why she had antibiotics 1 week later she could not breathe. I cried my eyes out. She was admitted the vet bill was huge. $1200 plus meds. They never answered my calls or texts. I read the paperwork she came from a puppy mill !!!! She's beautiful she's at a great loving home with family who loves her. We had a bad experience with them. Never again

If you can't find the puppy you want? Just call Playful Pets and tell them what your looking for? They will try their best to get want your looking for!! I love this place when I walked in there!!

We had an amazing experience here from start to finish. I wanted to get my daughter a puppy to grow with, and I happened to stumble across a picture of this sweet golden at Playful Pets. I called the pet store and they were very informative. I actually called them like 5x back to back with more questions each time. I let the staff know I was interested and lived out of state but could be there within two hours. Once we got there we were welcomed in and got to play with the golden right away. I had my tired two year old with me so it made for some struggles as she was being a bit difficult. The staff was amazing and took their time answering all my questions as well as walking me through what I needed to do to get this cute boy home with us. We welcomed our Golden Retriever home about a month and a half ago and he is the sweetest boy ever! Milo (who was previously named Gambino) and my toddler are seriously best buddies! He was chipped and also up to date on all shots. I truly had an amazing experience here and I see us returning in the future! To all the staff - thank you so much, Milo (Gambino) is loving his life and is spoiled like you wouldn't believe!

Terrible service ever. The front desk was so rude the whole time. When we called they just kept telling us what time they close instead of helping us out. They rather care about how much they are getting paid instead of giving their pup a home. When we walked in they were very hostille towards us, didn’t answer any questions either. The girl with blonde hair was so rude including the girl with the short dark hair. We really wanted to purchase a puppy and drove an 3 hours away for them to just tell us we couldn’t take him home when they had an hour left till closing. They didn’t even tell us to go play with the puppy just made us stand at the front door tellling us what time they close. Please replace your staff with someone who actually cares about the puppies and their new upcoming owners. Awful place. Never will I go there or recommend anyone to go!

my dad and i got a dog a week ago (mini dachshund) and she is so sweet. she is very smart and learns tricks very quickly. she has had some potty accidents recently but of course, that is not Playful Pet's fault. the prices are on the higher end (pretty reasonable because they are puppies) but they also have financial assistance which is great. the employees are so kind. the person who picks up the phone calls is amazing. she will tell you about the prices when you ask and will answer any other questions you have! setting up an appointment is so easy and they even give you a text reminder when it's almost time. they accept almost all payment options too! most of the low reviews don't have valid reasons to give a low rating. imagine giving a one star and a bad review because someone is replying to reviews with the actual truth (don't give a bad review if you haven't actually gone into the place and got one of their puppies!). i am in love with my puppy and i'm sure she is very happy in her new home. Playful Pets is an amazing place.

I would very likely buy from this store again. However, I did not give them a 5 because, like someone else mentioned, there is something missing because the store is being run by teens/young adults. I think when people are spending 2-3k, there should be the highest level of customer service. One can not expect that from teens or barely adults, no matter how mature they are. Finally, they are not very knowledgeable which also impacts your business.

Friendly staff and nice environment. Staff was very informative. Prices for puppies was higher than most other places but they keep a large selection of purebred puppies.

Purchased my 2nd puppy from here and BOTH times, I had such an awesome experience. The ladies at the front desk........their customer service was outstanding!!!! "Margarita".......who is now named "Stella" after their Bulldog, is FANTASTIC! Our first pet "Patricia" is now "Marlee." My excellent experience the first time with customer service, is why I chose them again. I'll do it a third time, too! Thanks ladies for being awesome!!!!!

I got my adorable shiba inu puppy here last week, lobe her so much! This place was clean and had a big selection of pups. I recommend checking them out for your new pup!

Asked to speak to owner. Owner is M.I.A. and let’s teenagers run business, who lack info and service skills. Clearly the owner spends more time leaving unprofessional responses to negative reviews on here then actually speaking with interested customers visiting the store. The owner’s responses to these reviews are more damaging to the business than any negative response I read.

We got our baby, Cicero, from Playful Pets. He is so amazing and wonderful. He is the perfect addition to our family. We couldn't be happier with him.

I had to make an account just to leave a review here. The staff (or should I say one of the staff I met) are quite unpleasant, they make the beautiful, warm and quiet environment feel absolutely unwelcoming, from the moment you walk in to the second you are out the doors. It’s a shame really, because the building is beautiful, puppies clean and obviously well taken care of (and reviews that state otherwise have to be untrue). When you’re purchasing something, anything that is of high value, both literally and figuratively, you can expect customers to want great, A1+ interactions/service with those who are handling your transaction, and handling the vibe of the entire experience. I work in customer relations, and I get it sometimes it is not fun. But I make sure every interaction I make is a positive one. At least fake your enthusiasm and joyful-ness for the sake of others if your life is void of it .

I bought a beautiful Pomeranian puppy from Playful Pets in July 2019 which is a complete joy to have in my life but I feel it’s my responsibility to give an honest review about my experience with my puppy. She was fine until about 4 months ago when she stopped walking on her back hind leg, took her to the vet then was recommended to see a specialist. After X-rays and a consult found out she was born with hip problems and NO KNEE CAPS! She just had surgery to correct the problem SHE WAS BORN with which cost over $5k. Be careful with your purchases from playful pets, seems to be an expensive puppy mill that passes their poor puppies off as healthy! I called the store and they didn’t care about the condition of my puppy!

Last December I got a Miniature Australian Shepard at Playful Pets. I had a great experience with the staff and the place is very clean! I also liked that the puppies are socialized! Bella previously Noel have been absolutely a great healthy puppy and most importantly she fit in very well with the family! We love Bella! We are so happy we decided to purchase our puppy through Playful Pets and when ready to expand our puppy family we will be going back. ❤️????

First time I went here they did not let me in, second time I went they wouldn’t let me in because I didn’t have an appointment even though their website didn’t specify that.

Answered all of my questions and were pleasant and friendly. Facility was very clean and dogs were well taken care of.

We purchased our goldendoddle from this store. We love our puppy!!!Depending on the customer service rep you can get a lot of information or a lot of I don't know. The animals are well taken care of. The store did a follow up a few months later.

From the first phone call, everyone at Playful Pets was pleasant and helpful. My first contact was right before the quarantine started and right as the stronger restrictions were announced. I regretfully delayed my planned visit, not knowing that it would be awhile until we could get back. They stayed in touch with me, answered all questions, and as soon as new puppies were available, we were in touch and made an appointment to go up. The safety restrictions were in place but it was all very welcoming. We took our time with our puppy, received lots of information and support, and were encouraged to stay in touch, which we did. No one knew that puppies would become a much-sought after "item" during the quarantine, and no one could have planned for it, especially puppy providers. The demand - at shelters, stores, and breeders - was impossibly demanding. I am glad I stayed with Playful Pets and I still correspond with them about Freddy's progress and I still check the website because it is so much fun. As with everything else during this unsettling time, patience is required. The website and Facebook posts make everything clear and are very honest. No one does a better job and I thank them again.

We purchased a dog from playful Pets and has significant medical issues directly from bad breeding. We have had our dog at 5 of the top vets in the Philadelphia area with all 5 stating that his condition is from bad breeding. Looking at his papers we have researched where he originally came from which is J.A.Ks puppies in Iowa which was just recently dismantled due to being a puppy laundering ring. JAKS gets these puppies from known puppy mills. When I spoke with the young lady she stated Jaks was their broker which yes that may be correct however JAKs is getting these puppies from puppy mills. The young lady kept its not a puppy mill and when asked if they have ever visited the places where they recieve their puppies from she said she refused to get yelled and hung up. If you plan on purchasing a puppy from here please research where the puppy came from prior to purchase and research every place on the papers playful pets was the 3rd owner of our dog before at 8 weeks old. They are part of the problem with puppy mill rings. We are out thousands of dollars trying to keep our dog alive. If this just helps one family not go through the pain we are going through. The MRI and surgery will cost around 8,000. As you stated you have a 2 year guarantee this happened now at 3 years old. I am confident the vets at VSEC and University of Penn are a little more knowledgeable with genetic disorders than the unprofessional business owner responding to these reviews. Please tell my young child that her sick dog "sounds fishy" to you the buisness owner that sold a puppy mill dog. Again, please research J.A.K.S puppies in Iowa where playful pets purchases their puppies from when asked the young girl said you can't believe everything online apparently including the federal authorities. I actually never said I had issues since we purchased the dog. Why do you keep ignoring the comment about J.A.K.' S? Are you familiar with the charges against the broker you purchase your "fur babies" from? Would you like me to send you the link on tbe charges against them? Do you even care where you get these puppies from? Again, when I asked the girl that answered the phone she stated the articles where a llie. Is that ypur stance on the broker playful pets purchases your puppies from? That the charges are false? Are you really comparing a child with cancer and down syndrome to a puppy? I have no words but just utter disbelief.....You are extremely professional buisness I see. I am not sure why you do not have a 5 star rating with such responses as sweetheart and hunny. You should be very proud of how you run your business and comparing children with cancer to puppies with genetic disorders. The review from Denise N is a conflict of interest seeing she is related to the manager/ owner. Please be honest with tbe reviews.

I never have been here but I think in a few months but I want to know before I go if they have any mixed breeds, if so, what kind? If not I will still go there to check out other puppies, judging from the pictures this is a nice and clean and very beautiful place so I hope it will look like that in real life.

Based on the owners response to some of the reviews. I will take my business elsewhere. The lack of professionalism from this business owner is astounding. If you want to gain more customers I believe you should take a course or two in customer service. Good evening Playful pets. I am not related to the above poster. My husband and our 3 children have been on your site everyday looking for a Cockapoo. We were in your store last November looking at some puppies . I am just concerned if you are this angry with people giving something so insignificant as a bad review . I am terrified what happens to those poor puppies and your children behind closed doors. You have anger issues and are in desperate need of counseling. I hope you reach out to somebody that can help re-direct that anger. It is nothing to be ashamed of please get some help!!

We bought a, King Charles Cavalier mixed with a Cocker Spaniel, puppy from this place on September 19, 2020. She was a sweet baby girl. We were so excited to find her. After losing our previous dog suddenly, we were so happy to find a puppy to help ease our pain. Unfortunately, we only had her for 9 days before she died on the 10th day at the animal hospital. The doctor told me that there were many things that caused her death. She was sick when we bought her. It may have been an accident and they may have not known she was sick but the way we were treated throughout the whole process of getting our money back was deplorable. No compassion at all! We received the check for the full refund today and all that was written with the check was, Enclosed is a check for your full reimbursement of the purchase price of your puppy! Seriously, no, I’m sorry for your loss or anything! When I spoke with the owner of the store she was very hard and said she had to take emotions out of the process bc it was just business! Buying a pet and then losing it that quickly definitely has emotions involved! Especially when my twin girls were crying themselves to sleep every night. I highly recommend you not buy a puppy from this place unless you are looking to bury it within a week.

The only people posting 1 star reviews are only people “stopping by” NOT actual buyers. I have 2 fur babies from Playful Pets and I have only good things to say about this business. These puppies are loved by the staff and the staff did everything to make sure my buying process was smooth and easy. The girls working there are adorable & I am very thankful for Playful Pets.

Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Facility looked nice. The pup we were interested in was sick though, so we opted to go elsewhere for a new puppy.

I used to always visit this place when I was in high school and adore the puppies. They have always been nice, but in my opinion, a bit unethical. We fell in love with a cavachon puppy they had a handful of weeks ago. We Contacted them many times to ask to put down a deposit and reserve him. They refused because they did not have the puppy in their possession yet, which is understandable, and told us to call back the following day at 12 pm when they expected to receive him. We called back the next day at 11 am (early just to be sure because we really wanted him), and we were told that they had already sold him to another family. Our hearts were broken. They sell their puppies on a first call basis, but Their phone line has been very busy during quarantine, so sometimes you are not able to reach someone until you call many many times. In addition, they simply send you to voicemail instead of putting callers on hold, so there is no keeping track of the real order in which people called. This is what I find unethical. I would suggest a more automated and fair strategy such as wait lists for puppies or putting people on hold and answering in the order which they first called. In addition, we asked for them to please call us if they got another cavachon puppy, despite our negative experience, as we really really wanted one. They have gotten many cavachon puppies after the one we tried to buy, but never called us. Not horrible, but also a bit unethical. Luckily, we were able to get a beautiful cavachon from Virginia who we love very much. However, after experiencing how hard it was to get my baby from a reputable breeder during the pandemic, it forces me to question how this store is able to get new puppies so easily every week, and how ethical they might be when it comes to their sourcing, given my experiences with them. I suggest proceeding with caution.
