Overall this place is an easy recommendation. They were extremely kind to us when we scheduled an appointment, treated our sick hamster well, and had a great bedside manner. The price is also close to other vets I’ve been to so that seems fair and is another plus. As a few pro tips when visiting there is one way parking behind the building. Due to COVID after you arrive call them to check in then they’ll tell you when to bring your pet to the door closest to the parking area. After handing off your pet at the door you can then wait in your car while the vet checks them out. They’ll then call you to discuss everything, to take payment over the phone, and everything else you’d typically experience at the vet so it’s basically a digital vet appointment. It’s a great idea that works very well and then it’s super easy to pick up your pet once the appointment is over. Solid place for all your exotic animal needs.

My 16 year old was having issues with her pet. Brought the pet their. They took our pet and said to call to discuss treatment plan. Secretary was really obnoxious and rude. Only spoke about money. Charged us twice. Spoke to doctor and she recommended euthanizing my pet. Told my daughter. She was on her way back to the clinic to say goodbye. Knocked on door and they handed her back her pet dead and stuffed his body in the euthanization medicine box. She was crying and called back to a Secretary that was being extremely rude and Uncompassionate. Do not recommend. Still haven’t got any compensation or a refund after they double charged me. Their policy states to show compassion. That Secretary refused to listen and communicate and be compassionate which resulted in my pets execution without the chance to say goodbye. Imaging how scared he was.

Had an appointment the 13th for a nail trimming for my hamster, but noticed his breathing had changed so I called and they got me in next day. She had him ready to go in an hour with a nail trim, teeth trim, full checkup, and antibiotics for his respiratory issue including sedation to perform all of that all for 97 dollars. Spoke with me on the phone in great detail about his visit and aftercare and told me to call back in a few days with an update. This place is the Taj Mahal for small animals, ill never go anywhere else now. Beyond thrilled with my visit!

Recently moved to area and brought my sick bearded dragon here. This was the best vet I’ve ever been to hands down. The Dr spent an hour 1-1 with me talking about how I take care of it and explaining lots of clear information, providing handouts of info, checking out my beardie, and taking tests. They were all such friendly and knowledgeable. I got results, medicine prescribed and called the office multiple times the next two weeks with questions and updates. My beardie made a full recovery and She’s back to her old self finally! It was a 40 min drive to the office for me but TOTALLY worth it.

Dr. Goodman saved our guinea pig's life!! He had been not eating and as soon as we first noticed we brought him to our local vet that has an "Exotic" vet in the practice. He was sent home with critical care and they said he had GI stasis. They put him on a treatment plan that did not work as it was not addressing the underlying cause. Since then he had been back 4 times and still no improvement. They even did a 'dental' procedure on him as we suspected it could be related to this. After over a month, the Exotic vet finally recommended we find someone else because they could not doing anything else for him. Our guinea pig kept losing his weight and we were doing critical care 4-5 times a day for over a month. Finally we got an appointment with Dr. Goodman and she was a lifesaver!!!. Dr. Goodman was 45 minutes away from our house but it was worth it. She diagnosed him properly right away. She said his tongue was trapped and also suspected an oral abscess by smelling his breath! We loved her old fashioned diagnosis and her experience and expertise. None of which our previous vet could do. Our previous vet did a full dental work up on him and basically said he didn't do much on him because he couldn't find anything wrong, which was totally incorrect. Dr. Goodman gave us an entirely new treatment plan. Within a few days after seeing Dr. Goodman our guinea pig started eating lettuce on his own. Now after a week he started eating pellets and hay. He is gaining weight slowly and I feel finally he is on the mend after over a month long ordeal. I will only take him back to Dr. Goodman even for annual visits. She is so worth the long drive and every penny! I highly recommend her. She saved our guinea pig's life!!

I am a new mommy to a guinea pig and i had a feeling she was sick! I called this wonderful place and they were extremely nice, helpful and understand over the phone and in person! I was helped and listened to without any problems. They showed me how to give my baby girl medicine and actually took time to hear my questions and concerns! My little one was taken care of so nice ! I love it here!

I've known Dr G. For over 30 years now. She has doctor-ed all my exotic babies in which include fur babies and feathered children. When other vets have failed me, she has ALWAYS come through with better diagnosis or meds.

Dr. Goodman is so knowledgeable, kind, & lovely to work with! I was a little late for my appointment (during covid times, no less????‍♀️), & she still took her time with me. I sincerely appreciate the advice, time, & effort spent to optimize the health & husbandry of my scaley children. There are so many questionable online sources, it's great to have some professional assistance deciphering what is best, especially when dealing with my special needs gecko. I will certainly work towards getting my other reptiles in over the next few months for their wellness visits!

I have been taking my 2 Cockatoos to Dr. Goodman for over 20 years. She educated me on proper birdie husbandry and keeps them healthy. She is a long time, high regarded Avain Vet in Delaware County. She and the staff are welcoming and will go out of their way to help, when birdies get sick.

I absolutely love Dr. Goodman and her staff! I take my Green winged macaw Pookie to her. I like the fact that Dr. Goodman is upfront with all costs and there are no surprises at check out. Kelly is great at catching Pookie and keeping him safely wrapped up so doc can examine him.

*BEWARE: Double check her avian vet license expiration date and always get a second opinion! She suggested putting our bird down when all he needed was eye drops.* We took our cockatiel here a few years ago because our regular vet didn't have as much experience with birds and our cockatiel had an inflamed eye lid which was a recurring issue. We wanted a "real" avian vet to look at our little guy. I found this place on google and the reviews seems great so we went. The vet and the staff were really nice/friendly and it seemed like we had finally found a place that could help us. After many months of shots and different medical attempts, our birds eye was remaining the same if not worse. And he was very stressed every visit. After working with her for many months, this vet suggested that our bird had some foreign bird disease and wanted to put him down and report us to the government. Our bird was born in the USA and we never traveled out of country with him nor do we have any other birds he interacts with so I knew something was wrong. We took him to another vet for a second opinion and he was given simple eye drops and his eye is doing way better. He is healthy and happy now. This vet is over dramatic and I highly suggest getting a second opinion if you use this vet. Double check her avian vet license expiration date.

They are so great with my bunnies and hamsters

This is a numer one vet in every way. I took my 22 year old geico who was very sick. The doctor is very good and very smart. The assistant was just excellent. Front desk woman was really good. 10 star vet. Perfect

If you have exotic pets this is the only game in town as far as I am concerned. Other vets use the "exotic" title to charge exorbitant prices and add additional services you dont need. This place is quick, honest, helpful, and affordable. Highly recommended!

I'm a petcare specialist at brookhaven petsmart and any of the animals that get sick go to see Dr. Goodman. Her staff and herself are the best. I recommend her to anyone who has exotic animals such as reptiles, birds, hamsters and Guinea pigs.
