One of their Doctors (Dr. Joan Capuzzi) helped my German Shepherd. She was KIND, PROFESSIONAL, and VERY HELPFUL. I wanted to say THANK YOU ! I was fortunate to have found a VET as knolledable as her !

Prior to moving out of state in 2021, we had been taking our two dogs and cat here for several years. We mostly had routine visits until Nov 2020. We initially brought one of our dogs in for what we thought was a parasite, but when the medicine did not clear the issue up, Dr. Nelson referred us to specialists to get additional testing done immediately. Unfortunately the results showed cancer and tumors. She then worked with us to explain the results and corresponding options. While the results were bleak, we chose to pursue one of her options and are happy to report that Gilbert is still with us today. If it wasn't for Dr. Nelson's experience, we might not have had the same result. She (along with the entire Spring House team) went above & beyond. They helped us schedule appointments, get the medicine we needed when we needed it (and even offered ways to cut some costs), and eased us through everything. We'll always be thankful for the experience we had and highly recommend Spring House Animal Hospital!

Great staff, and excellent care for our pet! Dr. Liz is talented, caring, and takes as much time as needed to fully answer any questions we may have.

I used to love this vet and Dr McMurtrie was wonderful when my dog had cancer but eventually passed away. I started bringing my mom's dog here for that reason. However, 2 years later, the change is astonishing. After a recent visit they left a voicemail that my mom’s dog has a tick-borne infection. I told my mom she needed to call them back so she can ask the vet all the questions she rightfully had but the girl who answer the phone told my mom to "look it up online." I told my mom to insist on talking a vet and she was told "they're too busy to talk to you." I understand vets are busy, but any time I had questions in the past it was “let me take your number and I will have someone call when they’re done seeing patients.” My mom asked more questions and insisted a vet called her back to which the girl finally took her number and said they’d call back. A bit later the same girl called back to once again not giving any additional information and clearly repeated what she was told so that she could not answer any follow up questions. After 4 phone calls, we switched to a different vet. Telling someone to look it up online is completely unacceptable and lazy. Everyone knows what looking up things online lead to. We call vets for their professional information. Be cautious of any positive reviews from more than a couple years ago. This place has gone downhill.

Such an amazing vet! All staff from reception, techs, to doctors all take the extra time to make you feel well taken care of. I have 2 cats and each time I go it's a pleasure

Taking superior care of my dog Daisy! They found a tumor another had misdiagnosed. Tumor is shrinking and my pup's prognosis is looking fantastic!

We are now taking our 3rd dog to spring house. I have always loved all of the vets here. We had two who were adopted and now we have a puppy from a breeder. They have taken care of all of our dogs with great care.

This is going to be a long one. I feel the need to counter some of the negative comments here. A good vet office is difficult to find. And Spring House is an office with heart. We brought our senior dog here after he was diagnosed with cancer. Our previous vet had told us the lump was nothing and not to worry. Needless to say she was entirely wrong and we needed to find a new practice, so we requested Dr. McMurtrie. She confirmed the bad news that the cancer was too well-established. Then she worked with us to find a treatment plan focused on quality of life and pain management. She never told us to put our dog down. She was always considerate and explained the different options that we had. Because of her professionalism, we were able to have another full year with our pet. When it was time to say goodbye, we brought him to Spring House. Everyone from the vet techs to the front desk to the doctors themselves were incredibly kind. We were never rushed or made to feel like we had to hide our feelings. In fact everyone around us seemed to sympathize to a degree that I rarely find in medical office environments. Have I occasionally had a rude interaction with a certain person at the front desk? Yes, I have. It doesn’t matter. The rest of the practice is 100% focused on the health and well being of your precious animal.

The staff of Spring House Animal Hospital are all just wonderful. We've been taking our dogs there for a few years now and they are always given such warmth and love, fabulous TLC. We wouldn't take them anywhere else and we live at least 40 minutes away from the practice.

My 110 pound mixed breed dog underwent two Lateral Suture Stabilization surgeries over 5 years ago, 6 weeks apart. Her recovery was without incident and she has benefited from the results ever since. I would recommend this surgery.

Will never waste a second at this facility after the disrespect their receptionist "Jim". What a great person for front of the line staff. I will gladly drive father, spend more money elsewhere then be abused by the receptionist here. How does this place even have clientele? Save yourself the headache, call someplace else!!!

Staff was phenomenal. Took my dog for ACL issue. Dr. McMurtrie was thorough from the very beginning. Made sure my dog was clear for surgery. Explained the whole process. Surgery was a huge success. She knew what he needed each step of the way. My dog and his comfort was always her and her staff’s top priority . I received the best possible care for my boy at an extremely reasonable cost. I would highly recommend Dr.McMurtrie and her staff to anyone looking for a great vet and awesome staff . I can’t thank them enough for all they did for Timber.

this is a great vet office. It's staffed by a group of mostly women vets. Everyone is caring and friendly. This is a full-service vet with modern facilities and equipment. :-)

I came to this practice in 2016 with my three dogs and one cat after relocating from North Carolina. I sought out Dr. McMurtrie In particular because of her credentials as a ABVP as my dog Maddie had a complex medical history. Dr. McMutrie is an excellent vet and provided fine care to my animals. I respect her conservative, thoughtful approach and her steadfast dedication to her patients. My animals were also seen by Drs. Cohen and Herbers at various times and they both provided very capable, compassionate care. Dr. Cohen went above and beyond in her care for my dog Marley in fashioning an outfit to help cushion his wounds while healing. The technicians are also a fine group and I have nothing but praise for the care they provided - especially on overnight stays! Sadly, I left the practice for ONE reason - James Romann (“Jim”). Jim works at the front desk and is the antithesis of someone you want in a customer facing role. I won’t belabor his short comings. They are stated in other reviews. Suffice it to say, dealing with Jim is so unpleasant that I left a practice I otherwise like and respect. Other customers, current staff, and even a vet that previously worked at this practice validated my concerns about his outlandish behavior. But for Jim, this would be a 5 star practice.

I was pleased with the vet care but not pleased when they refused to assist me in obtaining meds at a lower price from Pet Meds. Jim Romann, the receptionist accused them of selling doctor's licenses. After making such a statement, he wanted to know how much the med was costing thru Pet Meds. That is when I realized it's all about the money. My dog has a chronic dry eye condition and will require eye drops the rest of his life as well as ongoing vet care. They were shortsited in their refusal to help me obtain the meds at a lower price when you consider the monies to be made through ongoing care. The new vet has been very cooperative in helping me to get his meds at a lower price with Pet Meds. Jim has a very nasty attitude and is not good for retaining business!

I can't thank Dr. McMurtrie and staff enough. Following up on Josh Rivera's post on here, she is an amazing doctor with such compassion. I was a mess when our baby needed surgery for his ear and also a liver biopsy to see if there were any tumors which his ultrasound possibly indicated. From the day we got the ultrasound report she was right there with options letting us know she was going to do the best thing for bootz. She alleviated all our concerns and was there when we had any questions. Her and her staff were amazing from the days leading to surgery, to day of, and through his healing process. If anyone out there is concerned about reoccurring ear infections and don't know what to do this is an amazing option. Our little man is all healed, he can hear and no more infection! Please consider this before an ablation. Dr. McMurtrie was and is a blessing to our little man. We thank you sooo sooo much! Josh and Gina :)

I have had the pleasure of being one of the first patients at this practice since it opened its doors. My dogs have received compassionate, highly skilled care from day one. There is absolutely no finer Dr than Liz. Liz has a skill level as a diagnostician that is far superior to any other. I can’t even begin to recount the amount of times she made time to help my dogs. My husband and I love our dogs and her dedication to their care is priceless to us.

I’m an utterly disappointed and disgusted with care of spring house animal hospital. I was bite by a dog this past week, the owner of the dog informed me that he is under this vets care. I went in along with the police to try and obtain the medical records and the staff was less than helpful. Jim would not come out from the back ( I saw him leave out from the side door when I was leaving). The end result was the from desk told me to work with the police. I use to bring my three animals there. I will never return to get any care from such a group of heartless individuals .
