My dog has a rare and unfortunately expensive condition. At onset we brought him in and had to insist that blood work was needed. I knew something was very wrong. After diagnosis we moved on to the animal hospital. The treatment my dog received at sisters veterinary clinic was well over the cost for the same treatment anywhere in central oregon. When I had to make payments I was charged a processing fee that is higher than credit card interest. These people are GREEDY They make a ton of money boarding animals. Don't bring your pet here for medical treatment.

We were passing through sisters on vacation and our pup got sick, they were able to squeeze us in their busy schedule and take care of my girl! They’re also very honest and don’t try to take your money like most vets do. Thank you guys so much!!

I have had the privilege of getting veterinary care for all of our animals at this clinic for over 20 years. (mostly dogs and cats but there were some pocket pets in there too). They always suggest which tests are needed if any, but they don't force you to do ALL of the tests if you don't think you can afford it, instead they help you find a way to do the most important work first and then make plans to do the rest at a more affordable time. They really do work with you. They are REAL people, with their own pets and they know their clients. When you are in the exam room with the doctors, they are present, by which I mean they listen, they focus on you and your pet the entire time without being distracted or rushing. The support staff is just as excellent, from the techs to the office staff and everyone in between. Many thanks to you all. (PS: Dr. Berg, you are not allowed to retire. Nope. Not ever. We need you too much.) ;o) Best regards - Michelle

I can't say enough good things about the doctors and staff at Sisters Veterinary. I have two aging dogs with various issues, including fearfulness. They have been very understanding and supporting of extra needs and requests. They were the only local clinic that would let me accompany my fearful dog inside. They have called to check in with me during procedures and to follow up on my dogs after their care. They have provided excellent care with the kind of compassion a vet should have. So glad I found this place!

First, I would like to say that I am someone who tries to put positivity out into the world and I am not living my life trying to stir things up. I am only writing this review in the hopes that Sisters Veterinary Clinic hears me, and to hopefully prepare other pet parents for what they might be facing when they take their pet to Dr. Barton. To avoid writing a review that is too fueled by emotions, I have waited over a week to write this. I recently moved to Sisters and brought my two dogs to Dr. Barton for a check-up. I adopted one of my dogs recently and this was the first time I had taken her to the vet. I was impressed with how friendly the admin staff and the vet tech was to both me and my dogs. And then Dr. Barton walked in. There was no warm introduction, she just jumped into very sternly telling me that both of my dogs are overweight (only 2-3 lbs overweight and they are 30+ pound dogs). She then bluntly told me that the dog I recently rescued has a heart murmur. The way our conversation went regarding the heart murmur was not unlike when your mechanic tells you that the transmission in your car is going. I realize no dog parent would enjoy hearing that their dog has a heart murmur, but there's a way to do it and there's a way not to do it. One element of a veterinarians job is to be sensitive and understanding to how attached each of us are to our pets, and how devastating news like this can be. During our conversation, Dr. Barton never said anything to make me think this wasn't a death sentence. She didn't tell me what I know now, that many dogs can live long and happy lives with a heart murmur. I do not think Dr. Barton is a bad person. It is clear that she is intelligent, but based on my interaction with her, it's also clear that she isn't an empathetic or sensitive person that can tune into pet parents. You could be the smartest vet around, but if you don't make pet owners feel safe and listened to, business is not going to be good. I hope Dr. Barton learns to give diagnosis's in a more thoughtful way, and I wish her a great career. The other main issue I had with this clinic is that they didn't offer me a quote or estimate for how much all of the services were going to cost. I was asked a whirlwind of questions regarding if I was willing to run the recommended tests or if I would purchase the recommended food, medications and supplements, and I said "yes" to everything because I was overwhelmed, all the while having no idea how much everything would cost. My bill ended up being $405.00 and no quote was given. After this visit I have decided to go back to my regular vet, Dr. Putnam at Riverside Animal Hospital. At Riverside you will always know how much the services they are recommending for your pet are before agreeing to them, and they treat their patient's humans in a way that removes the fear factor and makes you feel like you are being taken care of. Sisters Veterinary Clinic is a two minute walk from my house and I will be driving the 35 minutes to Riverside Animal Hospital. I gave Sisters Veterinary Clinic two stars because of how friendly the front desk staff and the veterinary technician was. Update on my dog, for the readers who are curious: Riverside listened to her heart and they did not hear a heart murmur. They did hear a "S1 S2 split" meaning that one of the valves of her heart are not closing all the way. So they ordered a blood test to measure a heart enzyme associated with an over stressed heart, and that test came back totally normal. Her X-ray also showed a normal size heart without any defects. In one year we will do the blood test again and if the enzyme is elevated we will go see a canine cardiologist to get an EKG (sorry, not a vet so I can't get too technical in describing this stuff). Thank you for reading and I hope that all of your pets live long, happy and healthy lives!

Dr Berg is the best! He did Terra's entropion eye surgery and he definitely has surgeon's hands. He spends infinite time always, explaining things so you know why he is making decisions, always based on science.

Sisters Veterinary is a very caring and compassionate place for all your pet needs. The staff are the best at what they do. We have had to deal with 2 members passing and 2 new additions to our family and wouldn't think for a minute to take my loved one here.

I can’t properly express my gratitude for Sisters Veterinary Clinic. While on a camping trip in June our golden retriever cut up the bottoms of his paw pads and was unable to walk. We carried him back to the car and rushed over to Sisters Veterinary Clinic where he was seen immediately. His paw pads were cleaned and the Veterinarian showed my husband and I how to properly clean and wrap them at home. All of the staff were compassionate, patient and helpful. We were several hours from home and it was such a relief to find a place that would take amazing care of our sweet boy. Our pup is all healed up now and back to his normal, goofy and loving self. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

We were visiting out of town. My Chi's eye had been bothering her. They were able to get us in and cared for. They were efficient, fast, and everyone we interacted with was super friendly and kind. We were so thankful to be able to be seen with very little impact to our stay here in Sisters.

Frankly, we live in Bend and this is about a twenty five minute drive for us, but hands down they are just the most conscientious and friendly vets office in Central Oregon.

Friendly, quick, care for a dog. Our dog broke a toe nail while camping in town and we called about an appointment and were able to get right in. The staff was very friendly and caring about our dog and we are extremely happy with the service.

We were a last minute appt when our dog contracted a bladder infection while vacationing in the area. The staff and doctor were knowledgeable, efficient and caring. The exam was thorough and care was reasonably priced. Highly recommend Dr. Berg and Staff.

Everyone was so friendly and helpful! I had to take my dog in for an emergency while on vacation and they squeezed her in at their first available time. They worked with my situation and helped me find a solution that worked. They even called the next day to check on my dog and make sure everything was going well! Nice to know there is a reliable vet clinic nearby when I'm on vacation.

Dr. Berg is Amazing! We went to him for a surgical consultation. He did an excellent job of explaining what is going on with our dog and made it very easy to understand. He was extremely thorough in his examination and asked us tons of questions about her history. I love that the exam was done in the room with us, and our dog wasn't taken to a separate space as sometimes happens at other clinics. Are experience hear was excellent and i truly felt that I could trust his opinion and expertise. Thank you so much for helping us Dr. Berg! You Rock!
