This is an excellent vet hospital with friendly knowledgeable staff. I have been coming here for many years - have consistently received good care and services for my pets. Highly recommend!

Been coming here for 10+ years. I've been patent during this pandemic time. Higher prices and you don't even get to talk to a vet.

We love them, we really do. But the wait times keep getting longer and longer (waited over 1.5 hours for VACCINES once, a vet didn't even look her over - this was in the Before Times - so we just sat in the lobby forever), and the prices keep going up and up and up. Especially since VCA bought them out. We've even "moved up" in the world and can't afford $300 for a visit any more. Constantly getting upsold fecal tests and other stuff. Like no. I understand that emergencies happen, but the care received before and after VCA took over are quite different. Even the staff we knew forever seems just tired and irritable. We used to drive all the way from Monmouth just to see them, but things have frankly just gone south these last couple years. I believe they always take new clients, but just be prepared to wait for a very long time and occasionally get conflicting info from staff.

To preface my statement, I have used VACA Pet Hospitals with great results in Portland, OR, but here in Salem I have never been to a more inept organization. They traumatized my kitty so severely it changed her personality. They completely ignored my information that she had a bladder infection. Instead they conducted an unauthorized procedure on her and returned her to me, sedated, her eyes rolled back in her head and her hind leg extended with s sever tremor with feces all over her and her carrier. The Dr. told me to take her home and clean her up. I told her no, that was her job. Long store short, she did have a bladder infection, which is what I brought her in for. They refused to refund my $250. I wouldn't send my worst enemy to this place!

My wife and I had very specific requirements for our pets. We needed to move with our pets internationally, and this is also during covid. The entire team, from answering the phone call to talking to us about our pets and how far we were along that process was both informative and patient. They checked with us to see if we had seen this little piece of requirement here or there that could've tanked our move. I give my thanks to the members of VCA Vitality Animal Hospital. Thank you for always being so good with our pets and us.

I like the first time we were able to visit because they were the only ones, within reason, that would see our new pups. Waited an hour that time. The second time was almost 90 minutes there. Wasn't pleased when a lady came after me and got her pets back before me..

Took my very anxious small dog to get shots. They were so good with her! The vet was very friendly and truly cared about the comfort of my dog! Happy to have found them

Of course we have to wait on our cars well our pets are being tended to. I had to get out of my car and go inside at two different occasions during this visit to bring my dog back to the exam room and then to put a muzzle on him the second time. I believe staff should be able to handle a small dog. Not to mention the guy who came out to get my dog talked way too much. All in all it was an Okie experience. I got the shots today requested for my dog taken care of and that was that

Destin (sorry if I butchered the spelling) was amazing when I had to schedule for euthanasia during the ice storm. My vet was closed due to no power. The emergency vet had no power. They made a judgment call to help me during that time to say goodbye to my old man sight unseen and no history with us. I am forever grateful that they performed this last act of kindness for my old man with integrity and compassion. Thank you!

Never ever choose this clinic. They are disrespectful and rude. I have asked them what I need for my cat to travel out of country and they said they’ll do everything that needs to be done. Right now right before my flight I’m finding out that they didn’t do a passport and they haven’t told me anything and when I tried to talk to them about it they just hanged up and don’t pick up my calls anymore. Do not choose this clinic they are expensive rude and disrespectful. They’ll do anything to make it look like their a good clinic but scream at you through the phone for asking a simple question. They do no help but harm to your nerves. I highly do not recommend choosing this clinic. I called in back in December to do all the vaccines and paperwork that I needed to take my pet out of country. They promised me that they will do everything that needs to be done by the time I’ll need to leave. It’s almost March I need to leave soon and they’re saying that the tests are not ready yet because they had some paperwork complications. They also made me bring my cat in a couple times because they didn’t take enough blood the first time. Now because of them I might not be able to take my pet with me and I’m moving country’s and have no idea what to do. If I would of known I would of chosen another clinic.

Horrid.......told me my pet had cancer without any tests. Didn't get the first time discount or any services I wanted done to my pet. Please, PLEASE, go to a different vet....

I called in to schedule an appointment with VCA Vitality as I came into care of my late Grandma's 8 year old cat. I wanted to schedule an appointment to make sure she was healthy and up to date with all her shots and overall health. The front desk receptionist (in the morning) was not the friendliest when I was scheduling and didn't seem very happy... but honestly I can overlook that with the customer service that the vet tech, Cory provided to me when I was there for my actual appointment and doing my phone check in. I am a new cat owner (as I stated earlier) and it is a little overwhelming (given how I had to come into owning my new cat), and he was very informative and answered all my questions I had and was very knowledgeable. He also gave condolences on my Grandma and went over everything that they were going to do and double checked to see what I was comfortable paying for. When he took her in, the vet called (I did not get her name), but was also apologetic on my Grandmas passing and let me know that my cat was healthy and everything looked great. She was also informative with concerns I had and let me know if there is anything else we need, we can always call to schedule. Very pleased with this clinic and happy to have found a home to take our cat whenever we need.

****PREVIOUS REVIEW: (1 STAR)**** Please save yourself time and money and DON'T come here. My dog had a seizure over a week ago and we took her to the VCA hospital and found that she had elevated calcium levels. They urged us to find a primary veterinarian to continue finding the answer for my dog. I called VCA Vitality and they were able to get me in right away! I got my dog's blood tested and she still had elevated blood levels and the vet urged us to get her tested for Cushing's Disease as my dog had many symptoms of Cushing's Disease which we thought was why she had the seizure. I scheduled an appointment for my dog on Monday, 10/05/2020 at 10 am. Covid restricts pet parents to go inside so, the rule was to call ahead and a vet tech comes out and takes your pet. I promptly dropped my dog off at the scheduled time and was told that her test would take a couple of hours. 5 hours later, I had yet to hear from the vet so I called them. I was passed along the phone multiple times and then was told that Misty had NOT YET BEEN TESTED! Not only was my dog in a cage for 5 hours when I had a scheduled time but, I HAD TO CALL TO GET AN UPDATE! I was so frustrated. My dog should NOT have been locked up in a cage for that long and it was cruel and completely unnecessary. I was so angry and told my husband that we would not go to them again. Now, flash forward to today 10/06/2020 I waited to be called back for my dog's results. I was told that it would take 24 hours to get my results back. I HAD TO YET AGAIN, CALL THE VET for an update. I was told that I needed to be but on a brief hold that turned into a 45 MINUTE HOLD!!! Finally we got ahold of the vet who promptly told us that WE SHOULD'VE HUNG UP AND CALL BACK! seriously?!! she then quickly told us that my dogs levels weren't giving us a definite answer and that was that. I WILL NEVER COME HERE AGAIN! I spent almost $500 just to have them treat not only me but, my poor dog terribly. All I want to know is why my dog is having seizures. They did not make me feel like they cared at all. I will be telling everyone I know not go come here through my various social media platforms and through friends and family as well ****UPDATED REVIEW: (3 STAR) **** *I am editing my review from a 1 STAR to a 3 STAR! I was contacted by the hospital director and we discussed my issues with VCA Vitality. She apologized immensely and refunded me back the money I spent. Like I told her, I was not writing the review just to get my money back. As a dog owner, I pay attention to reviews and I would not be doing my part if I had not wrote about my experience. How are they to know if I didn't say anything? All in all, Roxanne (The hospital Director) told me exactly what her plans were to change, Including getting a new phone system to help prevent the unnoticed waiting phone calls and training for her staff. I truly appreciate that she reached out and I hope that things truly change for the better! Now, will I go back to VCA Vitality, I'm going to be honest and say no but, I think they did a great job in fixing a mistake that happened.

Been taking my Hercules (pitbull) there for years already and they're so wonderful to how they treat him. They're very honest too and don't over charge like other places that he's gone.

I have boarded 2 dogs at VCA . My current little one receives excellent treatment. On occasion the front desk people will have her sitting on their lap. Very happy with the care they give her.

Cory at this location is amazing! Very compassionate, patient, and helpful! My rescue kitten had a bad case of fleas and he made sure we could been seen on short notice. They were able to make him much more comfortable and get us started on his new kitten wellness visits. Can't say how much I appreciate Cory, Stetson, and all of the Doctors and staff at this office!

I have been taking my babies to this place for close to 10 years. We have had to put 2 dogs to sleep during that time and every time it has been in the most respectful loving manner. They always make you feel at home and show that they truely care for our fur babies. The young man (technician) was absolutely so caring and loving with my baby girl. I just received a card from the clinic and it warmed my heart. My mother lives at the coast and will not even think about a clinic there. She will travel to Salem just for their loving welcome home vibe. Thank you for always taking care of our beloved babies. You are amazing!
