North Portland Christmas Trees behind the shop building has the best looking trees around. They only have noble firs, but that's the kind of tree you want anyway. Service was phenomenal. Definitely the place to get a tree!

I love everything about this place, and they have had the best COVID protocols - from day 1! - of ANY retail store I’ve been into in the last 20 months. The quality of products, both pet things and plant things, is interesting and varied. The staff are wonderful and extremely helpful, queer-friendly, and I always feel genuinely cared for as a customer. My doggo has to be in dumb gross prescription food now that is only available through the vet, so for the first time in 10+ years I have to buy somewhere else, but I’m still excited to buy weird squeaky dreidel dog toys and plants that are beyond gorgeous.

I love this shop! I love taking my dog just to wonder around and check things out. They’re fairly expensive and they have a limited supply of things like harnesses and actual dog supplies. They have a lot of like treats and medication stuff and dog food. I love walking around their garden section, they sell really pretty rocks and moss so that you can use to layer your soil in a way that’s pleasing to the eye. They have a great supply of and a beautiful display for their air plants. This is definitely the spot to go if that’s your area of interest. The service is wonderful, they are very pleasant, though not always knowledgeable about the plants. I feel like if you advertise your store as a plant store, the cashier or someone working there should be able to give you some information about the plants without just googling it. I can Google information about the plants myself. They also have separate hours for their outdoor gardening area, and I’ve been there several times and for some reason it’s never open when I’m there… Like it closes an hour before they close, which is kind of strange. I don’t know why that area would need to be closed off or not be open on a regular basis.

I've been here many times over the years and the store and staff are some of the best you will ever find! The staff are always friendly and knowledgeable. I haven't had the opportunity to visit the outdoor garden center but they do close that a bit earlier at 6pm fyi! I'll update my review once I'm able to visit.

I come here for my gerbil!! For food and stuff, it is the most adorable store and the staff is so friendly! Absolutely my favorite pet store, but I do wish that there was a wider collection of some of the stuff-but that is just my opinion! No need to go changing!!!

Local place extremely well run. Employees are always super knowledgeable about the products and the space is bright and clean.

Overpriced pet items with condescending staff. So Portland. $28.99 for a pet cake… I want to like this place but have had too many bad experiences to go back. Sad cause it’s close to the house. I’ll just order from chewy.

The employees here really need to take a chill pill and stop with the “power trip.” Forcing your customers to use hand sanitizer or wear gloves is a bit much. Especially when your employees are wearing their mask under their nose... Having an attitude about using hand sanitizer and then getting all snarky when a customer refuses (like I did because i have dry skin) is very Irritating. Especially since this is the first time since the pandemic started that I’ve been forced to using hand sanitizer in order to shop at a store.

Wonderful little shop with nice selection of plants and pet supplies. Very welcoming and Covid safe. They are always kind, helpful, and friendly. The pup loves coming because he gets so many treats.

Was a customer for years but have noticed a change recently. Staff were rude, arrogant, had a know-it-all-attitude. Products have always been a little overpriced. When asked about it, the person shrugged and told me it’s local. Political ideals seem performative and hollow when you don’t treat the people who come into your store with basic respect.

Best pet store for new puppies! Ask for CJ! Hi! Ok you could be like me and try to save money by getting food and toys and leash etc from petCO, Amazon, chewy but then you will end up returning things, or trying different products to replace the sub par one you got OR you can go to Fang and DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME, spend a Little more money but you save time in the end and you have less headaches and a healthier puppy. And it ends up being the same price bc you don’t have to try several different kinds of things (harness, high reward treats etc) because you get the right product the first time after getting help and guidance from the SUPER KNOWLEDGEable staff! Ask for CJ! She is like an encyclopedia of knowledge and she even knew my former pet food brand had a recall!!! I felt confident going w everything she recommended and the personal service she gave me made the trip and slightly higher price tag worth it a million times over. Trust me on this one - I hardly ever write reviews but I want to save future puppy owners the hassle I’ve been through w the generic pet stores and encourage you to start here first. My pup is 12 wks and I’m so glad I discovered them now. EVERY PRODUCT THEY SELL IS RESEARCHED and VETTED! So many good options- everything high quality. Brought in our new puppy for some supplies and puppy was overwhelmed and pooped on the floor. The Fang staff were incredibly accommodating and friendly giving us a bag to clean up his potty accident and treats to help puppy feel more at ease in the store. Fang had all the supplies we needed and it was a great experience getting our new pup some exposure to new dogs/humans from a distance. Super cute French fry toy featured in photo!

My Fiance an I both highly recommend an support Fang's!! This store hass all that would be needed for making both one's plants and/or fur baby's to be healthy and happy. And the best part, they are price friendly!!????????

The Fang! employees are always extremely helpful and knowledgeable, but they really outdid themselves yesterday. A person made another person upset by filming them - they then retreated into the store, asking someone to call the police. The employees did not call the police, and gently but firmly intervened when the pursuer came to the door and started shouting. The employees de-escalated the situation gracefully and compassionately in a manner that was inspiring to see, despite the filmer's unhelpful shouting and defensiveness. It is a wonderful thing to see a store take its obligation to listen to all members of its community seriously. I am proud to shop here & encourage all of my neighbors to do the same.

Went there for the first time yesterday and instantly fell in love. The staff were so friendly and knowledgable on plants, gardening and pets! The pricing was very reasonable. Will visit again soon!

I am so glad Fang is in our neighborhood. They clearly care about your pets and offer food, treats, toys and accessories to fit every need. The staff is friendly and helpful and the garden center is really great. Overall I find everyone to be knowledgeable and my pup thinks it is a fun place to visit.

Fang! Is awesome. Went in today and everyone was SO helpful and SO friendly. Maggie spent a lot of time helping me figure out the best supplements might help my pooch’s irritated skin. She was incredibly knowledgeable and was in no rush. So grateful to have them close by! Also extra thanks to them for going the extra mile and letting me park my bike in the garden center (forgot my lock) :)

Had an disappointing experience here yesterday. I know about Fang from following them on Instagram, but had never visited them before. I needed garden supplies and my Mom needed supplies for her kitty, so figured we could kill two birds with one stone. As soon as we arrived and I opened the store door we were asked to wait outside, which I have absolutely no problem with. Their door says one customer per party, unless you have two kids with you, which are allowed in, and only 4 people per entire store for safety. When an employee popped outside to tell us store rules I asked if they could accommodate both me and my Mom at the same time (once there were enough people out of the store) due to my my Mom having several incapacitating injuries. About a month ago my Mom fell down her stairs and suffered a brain bleed, a concussion, and two fractured wrists. She is still visibly recovering, and she also cannot lift anything on her own. The employee let me know it wasn't possible for us to shop together but they could assist her around the store. While I appreciate that they want to keep everyone safe, and that they were willing to help her I let the employee know I wasn't comfortable with that. I find Fangs rigid policy incredibly abelist. I don't want to have to explain my complicated life circumstances to people to get them to let me assist my Mother. As someone recovering from a Traumatic Brain Injury, while she is fully cognizant and on a path to recovery, I don't personally know the employees at the store, and if they'd convince my Mom to buy things she doesn't need. She also doesn't feel comfortable asking for help from strangers, and will not always tell them exactly what she needs, letting her kinda get steamrolled sometimes. It's really upsetting that Fang wouldn't let people who need their caretakers in with them have them. We are not people who are asking for special treatment, we are asking for reasonable accommodations for the situation we're in. We were willing to wait outside so we were part of only 4 customers in the store, but were denied. So we left empty handed and went to spend out money at Pets on Broadway, which lets me help my Mom shop with reasonable accommodations, and Portland Nursery.
