PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE IF YOUR LOOKING TO REHOME YOUR DOG DO NOT SEND IT HERE!! My family and I were planning to move but couldn't take our two dogs along with us, so we brought them here in hope for them to find good loving homes... we went to the shelter a couple days ago and found out that they had put down our beautiful Siberian husky down due to biting a volunteer. Yes i am fully aware that a dog that has bitten someone has to be put down, BUT AFTER 3 STRIKES NOT ONE, and they could've called and told us that he had bitten someone and we could have taken him back and took full responsibility for the situation. We would've done ANYTHING for our dog to live, not die alone and scared with strangers surrounding him!! But no, not a single call or text message informing us that they had killed our dog, the lady that informed us also seemed so calm telling us and did not show a single hint of pityness. Our dog has NEVER been aggressive towards strangers or us and i have NEVER had a fear of my own dog biting someone or myself. Rocky (our dogs name) was already stressed and confused due to such a change in environment that this was probably the cause of his aggressiveness . My whole family has been devastated since we heard the news and the people we've told have said that what they did to our dog is illegal. The lady that gave us the terrible news also told us that they had put down 6 dogs in the last 6 months due to the same thing, and im 100% sure that they also didn't give any chances to the other dogs. Horrible .The lady was nasty and mean .Almost didn’t even let us see the dogs .Her e mail Said you should come prepared to take your dog home .She wanted to schedule another meet not knowing How long it took us to get here in the first place .Do not go here .They use the dogs for show and get money .

Some one stars say these guys are picky and will decline certain folks, well I am glad to hear that... I have recently surrendered a dog because my family has a life style that is not fair for the dog, we all work full time and or go to school and work also if all you have is an apartment with no yard then I hope you get turned down if you should try and adopt because dogs deserve better. Keep up the thorough vetting of would be adopters.

This place does so much for local animals! I highly support them, and what they do. If you need a new family member, go see these awesome people!

You know I get it that places close but when someone is still here. I tried to save a mother cat and her five kittens. Due to the fact that my landlord won't allow me to have them because they was abandoned by their owners. So they couldn't be taken into the shelter because they are closed. I guess I will take them back home and see if they have a chance with the people that don't want them there. I don't know what these people are capable of. I feel sorry for the other animals that don't make it because their closed. I would give it less then one star if I could.

Friendly, courteous, and resourceful staff. We adopted a kitten from here and the process was smooth. We would love to visit again.

Don’t trust this place! I adopted a cat here and they said the cat has REVERSE cataracts and so his cataracts would get better. I later looked it up and there is no such thing as reverse cataracts because cataracts can’t just all of a sudden get better. They are liars and can’t be trusted.

Super friendly staff and clean facility I would highly recommend adopting a pet from here. They take great care of their pets and prepare you for your new friend when you adopt from them

What a perfect place to select the perfect pet! We were wanting to get two cats, and came home with three. There was a large selection to choose from -- all healthy and with shiny soft hair. We were encouraged by the staff to hold any cat we chose, so as to know the personality. Each one was so friendly! Kudos to the Heartland staff for their kindness and expert care. The proof shows in how loving the cats are. I highly recommend Heartland Humane!

We adopted a wonderful dog from Heartland. For that we are thankful. They also offer a 50% adoption discount for seniors (the adopters). However, they have some individuals working that appear to have no idea what they are doing.

We adopted our kitty Mr. Jumble from here! We love all that they do for all the animals and would love to adopt again but the prices are high and I cant afford to adopt again for a while at least. I do understand to get really good homes for these babies the price needs to be high along with shots, chips, and spay/neuter that each animal gets. It's a fair price for sure. I do wish that the lady upfront was a bit more "involved" with the customers... she was just stand offish... I didn't even know the whole transaction was done until I asked "is that it?"

I had an escape artist of a dog and they always treated her well when she got picked up. The dogs up for adoption are in clean kennels and it dosen't stink like some shelters

I had a little dog that needed help and the local vet was way too expensive but heart land did the job with respect and at a price I could afford

We adopted our Rocket cat here about a year ago. He was around 4 months when we got him. When we adopt again someday we will absolutely do it here. They took great care of Rocket before we adpoted him, he loves people and other cats, and is all around a perfect addition for our family.

We could not go inside. Our appointment was at 12noon, we were 15 minutes early but had to wait in our car until 12:25. I was really cold. Finally they did let my husband use the restroom. We drove from Mcminnville oregon.

The worst animal shelter I have ever been to.

Helpful, friendly, caring staff!(warm smilz) Brought in an adolescent feral male cat for TNR.(Brother cat of female that was spayed previously.) Sister cat wouldn't eat/sleep much without her big brother,(inseperable since they were kittens) but the staff kindly called me to let me know the procedure went smooth, and he could be picked up and reunited with his sister the following day. Heartland Humane Society were very professional and provided excellent care for the cat. I'm very happy to say he's back and together with his sister, and they can live a much longer, happier life now, thanks to HHS. Thanks again!(warm smilz)
