Kindred Spirit Pet Care Bend, Oregon

My husband and I spent the month of October in Bend, and we feel so lucky to have found Kindred Spirit for our 10 month old pup, Bijou (Mini Bernedoodle, 25 lbs.). Bijou attended daycare 2-3 times a week, either a half or full day. Neal and Martina provide excellent care and stimulation with lots of walking in packs and off leash play. There is no doubt in my mind that the time Bijou spent at Kindred Spirit taught him socialization skills, such that he is much more accustomed to playing and running with other dogs. We are very happy to recommend Kindred Spirit to anyone looking for a doggie daycare.

Went to visit this dog facility and was impressed by the owner and her love of dogs, but not impressed with the facility. Yard was messy. Older large dogs snapped at my dog. Not sure how dogs manage to sleep together in the house. No AC that I could see, just fan. My dog who is very friendly shied away from other not so friendly dogs. Decided it wasn't a good match.

I couldn't be happier with Kindred Spirit! I'm new to Bend and the first thing I did was to search for the perfect petsitter for my dogs. My dogs are my babies and they need a special type of caregiver: responsible, dog savvy, loving, reliable, safe, professional and active..I found it ALL (and then some) with Martina. I never worry about them while I'm gone. a bonus to her very special care is that she also takes them on hikes daily! My boys are in heaven when they go to Martina! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND her!

We take our dog to Kindred Spirits weekly for socialization and a good hardy romp with his friends. He always comes home tired and happy. When we go out of town Martina is our first choice and we (& he) could not be happier with her excellent care. Highly recommend!

My dog loves this place and doesn't want to go home when I pick him up at the end of the day. They take the dogs on long walks/hikes every morning, so they get lots of exercise. I'm so happy I found Kindred Spirit! Both the dogs and the people are wonderful!

Our 10 year old Golden Retreiver Otto LOVES Kidred Spirit and Martina! She absolutely spoils OTTO....he has the run of the place and she prepares very special meals for all her guests. Takes them on daily hikes. We are sooo lucky we found Martina and Kidred Spirit Pet Care. THE BEST place to take your four legged family member. M2

I wish there was somewhere to click 3.5 stars. ???? I’ve been super impressed with Desi, although there are a couple of tweeks that could be made, just going by my first impressions and experience there. I appreciated that there was a meet and greet required along with a behavior evaluation. I was under the impression,however, that every dog had to do that in order to stay at the ranch. Desi approached us with several dogs at the gate(which was a bit overwhelming for my dog), one of which she explained jumped fences so had to stay with her. He wouldn’t leave my dog alone as we were trying to tour and evaluate. She also mentioned upon pickup another dog jumped up to the counter and ate my dog’s food. Hmm.... I would recommend when a newbie is coming to put other dogs in the fenced area and slowly introduce them. I was also told and was looking forward to, pictures being posted of my pup during his stay. The only one I saw the entire weekend was of him walking thru(and possibly drinking) muddy water. Then there’s the issue of the rocks...my pup came home with a limp, to which Desi explained is very common for dogs to overplay in these rocks. If this happens so often possibly don’t allow freeplay out on this surface so much? She told me she would contact me in a couple of days to see how TJ is doing. It’s been 4....and he has been seen at the vet. He also came home without his collar. Gratefully Desi dropped it off at our house when she came to Bend. I get the feeling she may be taking on a bit much. She truly enjoys all the dogs and what she offers at the ranch and you can tell. I will definitely bring my dog back for daycare here and there but a full weekend proved too much.

Such a good doggy daycare place. The staff is amazing and the dogs are treated so well. My dog loves coming here! ????

This is the only place we will take our dog Reeses. He loves it there and is always very well cared for. This is so much better than having your fur baby locked up in a kennel for hours and having to pay extra for every walk or run.

I have never used this place for boarding, but had a run in with a pack of 8 boarding dogs at tumalo canal. There was 1 attendant who could not control the pack of dogs. Three of them tried to attack my dog and self. I had to use pepper spray to keep them off us. Just want to let clients know their pets are at risk for being pepper sprayed or worse when in their care. There are also dogs that have been lost or strayed off only to be found by other hikers. Very irresponsible way to care for others beloved pets.

Incredible place to take your dog for day care or boarding. The staff is very friendly and easy to work with. We have been taking our two dogs to Kindred Spirit Dog Care for almost 1 1/2 years. They have spent nights there while traveling and we feel at ease knowing our dogs are being cared for by a loving and caring staff. Desiree does an amazing job with our high energy German Shepherd mix. The dogs spend once a week there and they come home very happy and very tired. We are so lucky to have found Kindred Spirit Dog Care!

Told to me straight from my dog: Plenty of space to run around, they go for long walks but I saw a rabbit and took off so I had to stay on the leash. Made a bunch of good friends. Would stay there again.

We discovered Kindred Spirit Pet Care about 2 years ago when we first moved to Bend, OR. We have a young, energetic Australian Cattle Dog that loves to run, explore and socialize. Kindred Spirit provided for all of that. During our first visit, Desiree gave us a wonderful introduction and tour of the property. Located in a rural area, the dogs can run free and enjoy playtime. The entire area is fenced and quite safe. Occasionally, they will take the dogs on walking tours. The staff is outstanding and quite dedicated to their work. They understand dog behavior and always make sound decisions pertaining to dog interactions, safety and temperament. We have utilized the day care services as well as long-term boarding. Our dog, Dolly, does well in either case. We are especially pleased with how the staff takes the time to get to know each dog and treats them as their own. We have great peace of mind each time we board our dog at KSPC.

I dropped by for a meet and greet today & was glad I did. There are no cages here , only freedom and fun times ...new friends for my four leggers were everywhere . I was pretty much sold on the place when I saw one of the care givers jumping right into the mud bath with the pooches, it was obvious they love what they do. My dogs got to stay for a day care visit to check things out, when I went to pick up I was given a very detailed explanation of their day and recommendations for them. All the dogs seem happy to be together another good sign. Overall I’m very pleased so far and will be going back soon.

We have had such great experience with Kindred Spirit. Our dog loves the ranch and it's so great for her because she is not in a kennel all day and is free to run and play with other dogs. She loves the hikes and is excited to go for overnights.

If you’re looking for a place you can leave your fur child(ren) this is the place. The staff at kindred spirit are wonderful, you can tell they genuinely love the service they give the dogs here.. they’re very friendly and take great care with the dogs, I definitely recommend kindred spirit, I have peace of mind that my fur babies will be taken care of and have a great time.

Kindred Spirit Pet Care has another option in the home of the owner. This site is known as Kindred Spirit Cottage (vs. Kindred Spirit Ranch) and is located in the southern part of Bend, OR. My nervous 13 year old Sheba Inu always liked to go to the Ranch but she loves to go to the Cottage. There are fewer dogs and she loves the grassy back yard. She gets wonderful care and attention. This is a great option for older dogs or for ones that need a little extra care.

I have been bringing both of my dogs to Kindred Spirit for day care and for overnight boarding since they were puppies . My dogs LOVE it - they get so excited when we get there, and they are exhausted when they come home after a great day of hikes and play. And I love it because I know that they always have fun, and that the team knows them and cares about them. I am so grateful to have a place where I can take my dogs for a day of play or to stay for a few days or a couple of weeks when we go out of town, and know that they will be well taken care of with people they know and in an environment where they are comfortable. Thank you, Kindred Spirit, for always taking such great care of our dogs!

Brought both my dog there for boarding for a few day's for this first time. They looked happy to see me, and content and well exercised when I returned. One of my dogs has pretty severe food allergies. She was in perfect condition, just as I dropped her off. No hives, or sores from allergies. I think the freedom to roam, and play and hang out with other nice dogs was really a nice stay for them! Will use next time!

Great boarding option. There are tons of other dogs for hours of play and my puppy always comes home tired. Anytime I have to leave town for a few days I bring my dog here. Reasonably priced too.

Recently I had to board my little terrier for over three weeks. Kindred Spirits was the only place I would consider. It was such a relief to know that Timmy was being taken such good care of by Martina and her excellent staff. I had great peace of mind knowing he was active and happy. Highly recommend!

All the staff is so loving. I have taken my pup Salem there since she was just 4 months old and I couldn't trust anyone else with ger but them. 5 stars is not enough for all they do for our pups while we are away working or on vacation. They make every dog feel special.

My 2 dogs, Roxy & Oscar, love going to Kindred Spirits. Quite frankly, it's the only place that I feel comfortable leaving them at. The dogs have several acres of fenced in yard to play in. They are even taken on hikes (which they are used to on a daily basis). When they spend the night they sleep on a pillow - not on the floor. There are no kennels or cages. More than that, the employees are truly "dog people". You can tell by the way they interact with the dogs. They are not just there for the job. It's a unique and very well run facility. I am so happy to have them in our area.

Martina is all about loving dogs.

A place where dogs are truly loved and understood -3 fenced acres to run and play on - no cages , but lots of TLC and fun. 90% of dogs come again and again and give this place 4 paws up!

I have known Martina for years and she took loving care of my black Lab when I first moved to the area and needed to leave for a trip. I returned to find my dog, Shelby, happy, relaxed and well taken care of. Martina's love for dogs is evident as soon as you meet her and she truly cares about the dogs in her care.

We adore this place. They are always so loving to our best buddy. They play and hike and and hang out with the dogs all day. He comes home happy and clean and sleeps for a whole day because he's been having so much fun.

Totally irresponsible animal care. I was just harrassed by 10plus dogs let loose from this property while I walked my dogs ( on leash) on the nearby paved and dirt road . They had no control over the dogs as the dogs growled and snapped at my dogs and I. I have filed a complaint with the police
