If u care about ur animals at all absolutely DO NOT take them here. I basically begged for them to help my dog. The very rude male nurse told me he was dying so he wasn’t an emergency. Well guess what? He passed away this morning less than …

My beloved dog had a small gash in his leg from my other dog and him getting a bit too rowdy. Super stressed, we started rushing to the good shepherd but their doctor wasn’t in till 1. They recommended us here cause they have one 24/7. Everyone here is amazing so far, my dog got cared for immediately and luckily don’t even have to leave him over night. Highly recommend. 10/10 P.s. they have lint rollers handy if your dog sheds when stressed

we called them last night around 1 am because our dog was in literal pain he was crying in pain as well and we didn’t know why they told us to basically let our dog tough it out and watch him and give our vet a call in the morning literally the worst service ever and expensive! Don’t ever go here worst place ever

My mom recently had to take her yorkie "Molly" for emergency care and we took her to Oklahoma Veterinary Specialists. The staff at every step of the our journey with Molly were professional, caring and compassionate. Molly required hospitalization. We were kept informed of her progress, test results and the staff communicated with us frequently to address our questions and concerns. I highly recommend this clinic and can't thank the staff enough for everything they did for Molly and the compassion they showed my mom during this difficulty time. Thank you!!

The front desk people were awesome. But that's where it stopped. I told them not to give my dog a certain med to calm him down and just looked at my statement and that's what they gave him. I never saw the vet when discharged and when looking at the records they sent me they were not even what the tech told me. I drove 2 hours to get there and spent $1700. Would never go back.

We adopted a kitten and found out that he had polyps in his ears. My veterinarian referred us to OVS. I was not excited about driving over 2 hours away to take our little guy to the vet but I would do anything for him. From the initial appointment to the day of surgery, OVS treated us really well. They explained everything to me and in ways that I would understand. They told me the price upfront. I compared it to other clinics and they were either the same or a little less. Our little guy is doing really good post surgery. We can't thank them enough for the care they gave him. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing a specialist for their pets.

While enroute from Chicago to AZ we stopped for the night in Tulsa. Fed our 6 year old Golden Retriever his dinner and almost immediately noticed some distress. A short walk did not improve the situation. Called Oklahoma Veterinary Specialists and described the situation. A quick triage over the phone indicated our dog needed to be seen immediately. Oklahoma Veterinary Specialists was about a 5 minute drive from our hotel. They took him in immediately and within 15 minutes we had a diagnosis and a plan. Emergency surgery to correct a twisted stomach. Every individual we talked with at the clinic from the front desk, to the techs to the doctors were amazing! Our dog had successful surgery at about 7:30pm and by 9:30pm we had a call from the Dr. with a full report on how the surgery went. Our dog spent the next 36 hours at the clinic and we called several times to check on him and each time we were treated with compassion and excellence. We even got a visit with him about 24 hours after surgery. We resumed our road trip to AZ a couple of days later and when questions arose on the way we were always able to talk to a vet or a tech or a nurse who was always reassuring, helpful and caring. We feel so lucky to have found Oklahoma Veterinary Specialists who clearly saved out dog's life. Many thanks to Dr. Adrienne Hale, Dr. Chris Johnson and the rest of the staff.

Thanks to Drs. Johnson, Pucket and Hodges and the wonderful staff at OVS for taking great care of my dog over the last few days. This practice is fantastic.

Horrible service! I would never take any of my animals back here. If you're not Caucasian I would strongly consider another hospital for your animal. No thanks! With all due respect I will never go back to your office.

My grannies little dog spike was attacked by a large dog on our way downstairs and was in pretty rough shape the only vet open was oklahoma veterinary specialist so I rushed him there as fast as I could, we didn't have any money on us at the time because it was so late at night and we were just gonna take him out to potty when he was attacked. Oklahoma vet specialists needed up front payment and would not provide care, I told them I was gonna run to the ATM and that I would be back in less than 5 minutes they brought him out to us and Made me take him with us to the ATM, so I went and got the cash and brought him back then they said they needed my grannies ID I told them its in claremore it would take us almost an hour to get there and back, I asked can I leave spike here til we get back because he won't make it, they said no so I made the drive again with him and back and in that time he had deteriorated pretty badly, finally I got him back to the vet and less than an hour later we get a call saying he didn't make it and they still want us to pay the bill never take your pet here in an emergency the people are worthless!!!! R.I.P. spike

My 15 year-old dog began seizures in one day. Took him in at midnight for diagnosis and treatment. He was cared for immediately as I entered the door. DVM Chris Johnson took a length of time to educate me and discuss possible causes, potential treatments going forward, and realistic expectations. Took my dog home next day and, while not out of the woods, gave hope that he has been cared for in a most outstanding way.

Avoid this place!!! My cat was being seen at by his vet at another facility but had to stay here just overnight for observation due to the other place not being a 24hr facility. I was told it would be 370$. I get there and they have jacked it up to over 700$ just to observe him overnight. Then told me they wanted to keep him 1-2 more nights for the same price each night. I went to get him the next day and they had added more to the price. He's being treated at his vet so everything they were trying to do was unneeded and unwanted. I stated many times over he already had a treatment plan with his vet in place. *UPDATE* I was called by this facility and asked very sternly to amend my review. I would like to clarify that after having to argue with several staff members the price was brought back down to 392$ that night from over 700$. Then when I went to pick up my cat the next morning I was asked to pay an additional 48$. Which included a warm blanket and dose of medication. After again having to go back and forth with staff that price was brought down to 18$. I was asked very sternly by them to amend this review so this is the WHOLE story so I'm not made out to seem like a liar making a false post. If you want to fight tooth and nail just to get the price that was quoted to you originally, this is the place for you. IM SO OFFENDED!! Won't be back!

We had a very good experience with our dog here. He ultimately had to be put down due to bone cancer, but Dr. Hodges worked with us all the way through. Provided excellent care.

This is not a very good animal hospital to go to they require an ID for your animal to be seen even though you have cash I was helping someone move today and I left my wallet all the way across the state and these people would not see my animal simply because I did not have an ID that I could have provided at a later time. He is literally dying. I don't know what to do. Can't believe you have to have an ID to see an animal. I will never come or call this hospital again. They were not empathetic at all. We are at another hospital and I'll check up with his primary tomorrow. You guys are heartless.

Truly the worst service of any vet in the state, and likely anywhere. The word "abysmal" springs to mind. Every single human being in the building could be replaced with a robot and somehow the experience would be warmer. Please exhaust any and all other possible options before picking up the phone and dialing this number. I would give negative stars if that was an option.

You will not get any respect at this place! I was referred by my vet for a surgery on my cat. I went in for the initial visit, scheduled the surgery, went over the price $1500...expensive yes but I'd pay anything to save one of my babies and the surgery was a complete success and I thank the doctor for that! Doctor was great, techs were great. My problem came the day of the surgery, drop off at 7 am...45 minutes from my house. I get there and I'm told payment is required up-front..wouldn't have been a problem if they had told me in advance. The only credit card I had in my purse was in my husband's name and they wouldn't take it. Say what you want about credit card agreements everyone knows when you're married you use cards in your spouse's name ALL the time! The rules are yours and yours alone. Quit making excuses for the bad behavior by your front desk people and your made up as you go rules. My choice was to cancel and reschedule, go home and get a card or open a Care Credit Card. I am a professional and I did take the day off work for this so I was forced to open up a Care Credit account. I do not appreciate the way I was spoken to by the front desk people, I am not a thief and I have never been treated like one until that day. My husband's credit card was not stolen! If you have these rules of paying upfront for your services, your clients should be told ahead of time. Maybe you'd get better reviews if your office staff treated people with respect instead like thieves!

Horrible service, horrible attitude when you go in or you call.Does not follow through their commitments on getting back to you. I paid $700 for testing and was promised to have a phone call that day regarding some of the results and within a couple days regarding the remainder of results. Nothing. Week later I call and get shuffled a voicemail with a message saying will get back with you but it may be a few days. I still have a very sick animal and they obviously are not concerned.

Wonderful place and very compassionate people. Had to take my Mom's dog her because she was sick. Unfortunately she was in kidney failure and had to be put down. The worked at our pace. Gave us time to spend with her in private also waited for my husband to get there. Put us in a private room so we could spend as much time as we wanted. Would totally recommend them for pet emergencies. I can not thank them enough for what they did for my mom. They made this a lot easier on her.

Brought my dog in last night (Thursday evening) at 6:30, she had a pretty good gash/wound on her left rear leg, so deep that I could see her tendon, figured it would need stitches or staples and we’d be on our way. Got there and was greeted by admin who took my info and then the vet tech came out and took my dog away to take her vitals, shortly after her brought her back out to me and said all looked good with vitals and take a seat in the waiting room. Another vet tech came out and mentioned to me that they were putting me on a waitlist and that I would either receive a call early In the morning or mid morning the next day, in disbelief I left the clinic with a bleeding pup. Fast forward to today and I still have received zero calls from the clinic, not even a single follow up call after waiting over 24 hours! Very frustrating to say the least and poor run facility, regardless of staffing issues or any other excuse, if you say you’re gonna do something, the stick to it especially if it’s an injury, regardless the severity of it! I run a business my self and have to say that it’s extremely disappointing to be treated this way. Date in 9-23-21

I rushed in yesterday morning with my dog Sammy, her stomach had flipped and the prognosis was bad. They took her immediately. I had to make the decision between putting her through her second surgery in two weeks (first surgery was done elsewhere) that she might not have survived or letting her cross the rainbow bridge and not suffer anymore. Dr. Lence (I believe. I was so distraught, names were the last thing on my mind. His first name is Hamilton) sat in a room with me for what felt like hours and gently talked me through my choices while I was completely unraveled. He and the nurses were extremely understanding and patient with me. I wouldn’t have felt as comforted anywhere else. I ended up letting Sammy travel to the other side and Hamilton was there every step of the way. It was clear that he and the nurses that were involved felt my pain and truly cared about Sammy and I. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart, Hannah.

My Westie has struggled with allergies for years. It reached a point where I felt we had tried everything. Our dog had all four paws stained, red, and swollen from licking. He had scratched the hair off from his belly and sides. His whole belly and underarms were red with hot spots. His beard was completely stained. He had repeated ear infections and swollen eyes. He was totally miserable. Our vet referred us to Dr. Wheatcraft. Within 3 months Dr. Wheatcraft helped reduce all his symptoms and found a sustainable and effective regimen which we have followed for 4 years successfully. It is expensive but I would rather pay for something effective than continuing to pay for unsuccessful treatments. My Westie is healthy, furry, and white again along with minimal itching. I am really thankful for the Dermatology department.

Truly are compassionate, caring and kind they saved my dog's life after a very tragic dog attack. And we've had to go back a few times just for follow-up care and unforeseen circumstances in regards to the injuries, and they have been nothing but kind caring and compassionate the entire time. You can tell that they are truly there for you and their animals if you have an emergency with your pet OVS is the place to take your babies is the right place for your babies

We were there for 3.5 hours with my dog They did not clean him up and we were expected to wait longer and we couldn’t leave to get anything until they had a treatment option which would’ve been another 3 hours he hadn’t even seen the vet yet

My regular vet is an old country vet. His office is quite limited. This is fine for regular checkups or minor emergencies but not for serious events. I have taken my 14 year old Shih Tzu here 3 times. They are always very thorough, but I never pay for anything they don’t do. I’ve never regretted taking my dog here when I was worried about a serious heart issue, and I don’t feel they are overly priced for the service they offer. Very friendly, very efficient, and reasonably priced for an ER clinic.

My VET alerted OVS that I was bringing a dog with venomous snakebite. Upon arrival I checked in for emergency help and got no service for my dog. No pain treatment, nothing. Spoke to VET in waiting room for 5 minutes and quickly realized my dogs care unimportant to OVS, its all about the money. Vet was less than forthright about best course of action for my dog, insisting that antivenom was necessary, it was not. My dog whimpered in pain for 2 hours while OVS worked up a cost estimate of over a thousand dollars. While my dog waited in pain, I found more useful information on the internet than was provided by OVS. In most cases antivenom is NOT necessary. I paid 110.00 to wait 2 hours for nothing and left knowing my dog was better off without OVS. OVS is not about the best treatment, its about extracting the maximum payment for the least service. Beware of this price gouging VET, appropriate timely care is of no interest to them. Update: Swelling had gone down by end of day my dog was eating and drinking. She got up next morning without symptoms and is not having any issues.

I am writing this from the parking lot of the clinic after being turned away…..absolutely fuming. My dog got attacked by another dog while I was walking him. He had 2 large open wounds on his snout (and I wasn’t sure where else we was bit because of all his fur). I called this clinic because it was the only place open at the time. I explained the situation and they said to bring him in. I drove 45 minutes to get there. Waited in line for about 15 minutes just to even talk to the front desk. A tech came out and asked what I needed. I explained that my dog had been attacked. He said well he looks fine and we have a bunch of other animals here so take him to your primary vet in the morning. HE DID NOT EVEN EXAMINE AT HIM AT ALL. How do you know if he’s fine without even doing an examine? Never will I ever come here again. Would not recommend to anyone. Truly disappointing staff and experience.

My vet in Muskogee ok..was very accurate in diagnosis and urgency of getting my dog to Dr .Pucket for emergency eye surgery..they were called and Dr.Pucket had her in surgery shortly after arriving..for lens luxation ..if you ever see ONE of your dogs irritated and watering..get them to vet immediately..it could be this..and cause a very painful and blind eye..my vet and Dr. Pucket said her eye..she is back to her old self..

Amazing people who actually care about your animal and you. They go out of their way to make sure you are taken care of.

This clinic doesn’t work with rescue groups. We are a 501c rescue group that brought in a dog for surgery because she was hit by a car and required surgery to fix the leg. They said they would give us a discount but because our treasurer didn’t answer the phone when they called, they wouldn’t give us the discount. She tried to call back and they said it was too late, they couldn’t apply the discount so we have to pay the full amount.

picked up a tube of ointment for my horse, I realized the same day it was not by prescription, & they charged me more than double what retail was everywhere else! I took it back in the box & receipt - they would not give me a credit, said once it leaves they cant take it back - NO where was it printed on the receipt any of those terms. I have dealt with several great vets (from dog rescue) and never once had this happened. they truly are out for the MONEY only!!
