First time I went in with my dog they treated her with incredible delicacy and we're very sweet to her. She's a timid dog with strangers and they went the extra few steps to be gentle with her for the exam. They were able to diagnose the issue with ease, and while the treatment will be expensive, they gave us affordable alternatives until we can save up what is needed for the cure. I'm quite impressed with the staff from the receptionist up to the vet who saw my pooch.

I have had the Drs at Mcgee Street treat the last three fur babies I have had in my family and now number four as well. Dr white and Dr Emeritt are both close to my heart as they have both performed such excellent skill and given the most current vetinarian care consistently over the many years I have brought my babies to them. At some point, with each pet, we have faced many critical situations and faced the most bleak of circumstances, and each time the Drs have given me more years with my precious family member and for that I will be eternally greatful. Dr. Emeritt is an exceptionally skilled surgeon and Dr. white is one of the most knowledgeable vets iv had the pleasure of meeting. The patience and understanding they practice with all pet parents, and their genuine care for the animals they treat, along with the most helpful and kind staff, Mcgee Street is steps above the rest in the vet services they provide. Their costs are competitive and many times lower than other vets in the area. If you make the decision to take your family member to Mcgee Street, you won't ever take them anywhere else.

Quality of care is always great-- so that's easily a 3, maybe a 4, if the communication on the front end hadn't been so irregular and (for our family) costly. Firstly, my husband called to make an appointment for our dog to go in. The "new" person (I do understand mistakes can be made, I've been there) scheduled us to bring in our dog for updates, without verifying whether the actual Doctor would need to be present. I dropped off our dog only to get a (very apologetic) call back 10 minutes later saying that I had to come pick her up because the techs couldn't administer the shots without an exam. We were able to reschedule for the next week, but if you're taking time off work to bring a pet in for something routine, this kerfuffle can be very inconvenient. Takeaway: verify whether the Vet needs to be present or not prior to getting off the phone. REGARDING DROP OFFS: The next week, our dog went in for an update of "everything that is due" on the drop off form. The line specifically reads, "if updating annual vaccines/tests, is it ok for us to update everything that is due?" And you mark either "Yes/No", I marked "Yes". At the bottom of the form, there is the question: "after the exam by the veterinarian, may we proceed with the tests or treatments?" The answers were, "Yes/Call first" and I marked "call first" expecting a call before the techs administered any treatments or tests (like vaccines or stool screens) to verify if we wanted the treatment AND to go over the cost prior to administering vaccines. Towards the end of the day, I called to find out if I could pick up our dog. No one had called to say that her exam was through. No one had called to ask about "treatments" either, so I was a little concerned when I went in to get her and was faced with an invoice for $310.67, more than a hundred dollars more than what I was expecting and what we had budgeted. Per the front desk personnel, marking that I wanted "everything" updated is NOT related to wanting a "call first" about "tests or treatments" and that's why I didn't get a call prior. There was no explanation for why I didn't get a call when her exams were finished, although again the front desk person was very apologetic. Takeaway: READ THE FORM CAREFULLY AND GET CLARIFICATION IF YOU REQUIRE "CALL FIRST" for anything. I would like to say that we will continue to bring our dog here for treatment (if they'll have us after this review) -- again, the QUALITY OF CARE is great, the Vets and Techs have always been VERY good with her when we started coming here back in 2016, and all her records are in one place. However, the review has to remain a 2 until we experience improved communication and no scheduling mishaps for at least the next two office visits.

I was recommended this animal hospital and had high hopes. So many of the reviews made this place seem wonderful. But if you read through all the reviews you will find 1 star reviews that have had the same bad experience that I have. Prior to my first puppy appointment my dog got an ear infection. I called to ask to make an appointment, they couldn’t get me in until the following week. My puppy was in pain and I didn’t feel it was best to wait that long. I called another animal hospital (Sooner Animal Hospital) and they worked it out so I could get come in the same day. The hospital was clean and the people there were amazing! They went ahead and gave her the shots she needed, did an examination, and got medicine for her ear. I called to cancel my appointment with McGee Hospital and they said they could not refund me my deposit. I do not feel comfortable continuing my service with this hospital. I need somewhere reliable I can go to, at the end of the day I am looking for somewhere that I know will ensure the safety of my dog. I was disappointed because McGee st didn’t even email me a confirmation about my next apt. I scheduled my next appointment with Sooner animal hospital. They have a teacher discount, can get me in when my puppy is sick, emails a confirmation, are clean, kind, and super helpful. I am hoping McGee st will do the right thing and refund me my deposit and I could change this review. If you are worried about losing clients maybe you should consider ways you could help keep your business not holding peoples money to force them to return- that’s not a great start to a relationship with a client. It makes this hospital seemed money focused instead of client focused. I am hoping to hear from the hospital soon so maybe there can be some resolution. EDIT 7/12/21 I received a call from the clinic that apologized for what happened. I received a refund. I appreciate them calling me personally to apologize and resolve the situation!

My family has used McGee Street Animal Hospital as our dogs' primary vet for over a decade now. During that time, our household has loved many dogs, and McGee Street's doctors and staff have seen us through everything-- vaccinations for new puppies and wellness checks for found strays, spays and neuters, minor infections and major surgeries, tragedies and triumphs, tough decisions and even tougher goodbyes. They have loved our babies right alongside us, and the value of that cannot be overstated. They've also cleaned up way more than their fair share of pee from a Great Dane with a nervous bladder. That's a pretty valuable service too.

I have had a of unfortunate episodes with my dogs that I have had to rush my dogs in. They fit them in as soon as possible. And they provided excellent care! I have been going there for over 20 years now. I highly recommend them! Dr. Emmert, Dr. White and their staff are the best!

They always take good care of my cats when I board them there. I can tell they care about the welfare of my pets. The vet I see is really good about finding the right treatments without it costing a ton. They saved my cat from dying of struvites a few years ago. I called them and told them it was an emergency, and they said to bring him in right then and there. Great place, and I highly recommend.

Been taking my pets there for years. The staff is great and the vets are great as well. It can get pricey but that’s normal for vets.

Bait-n-Switch! Quoted a price for medication at an agreed upon rate by Office Manager; a price she noted would undercut Chewy. Had it NOT, I would've ordered it thru Chewy from Day One! Driving" across town is inconvenient and Chewy is easy! I was shocked when checking out on another refill, Tena quoted a price significantly higher; stating she had to 'price match Chewy. That was not my understanding/agreement nor an arrangement I would have made (Chewy's easy). I requested to speak with the Office Manager, Kerry. I reminded her of the details to which she would not recall or even bother to go look up. The difference was only about $60, but her professional demeanor as I queried her, was beyond anything I could've anticipated: repeated same thing, "must price match Chewy" - only louder and with more descriptors each time. I literally left shaking my head. HOWEVER: I have not been at this clinic very long; the dog being treated there ("Norman", adopted from the Norman Animal Shelter) was bequeathed to me when my son passed away in December 2019. Norman and I are healing TOGETHER and we have a lot of healing yet to do! Norman needs the best medicine money can buy - staff are the face of an organization and, well this was unacceptable. Norman is an Angel to me and is going back to my former greyhound's veterinarian and this Years Norman Transcript's Choice (not surprised), Dr. John Otto!

We love everyone at McGee Street! My dog is pretty nervous and sometimes a little dramatic about it but they make her feel comfortable and loved so she ends up licking them all over by the time we leave. Their precautions around COVID made me feel safe and comfortable bringing my pup in and I can't recommend them enough!

These people are Only in it for your money, they don't care about you, or your animals. They offer no emergency services (because as the older lady told me, "We are not a hospital, we are only a clinic"), will only admit sick and injured animals at appointment time, and have absolutely zero compassion (without appointment) as they look you blankly in the face even when you have a cat that has an eye infection that formed overnight. If you're reading a Good review of this place - it's sad, there's a lot - then you can pretty much guarantee that person showed up in a new car, and stepped out looking like Money.
