My poor cat Andrew got bit by a tick and got a fever and was very lethargic. Shawnee Animal Clinic gave him anti-biotics, fluids, and anti-inflammatories. They also drew his blood. These pictures are from when he didnt feel good while we was waiting to see the vet. He's 100% better now, thanks to these wonderful people who work at Shawnee Animal Clinic. Thank you to the staff. Great people.

Staff is always very nice and they treat the animals they care for wonderfully. Love this vet office!

It's so comforting to know that Shawnee Animal Clinic is available 24/7. I have watched the employees here...vets and staff...literally sit on the floor and share their lunch with a pet that wouldn't eat. I so appreciate the love and comfort given to me when I lose a fur child. And I so appreciate the knowledge and experience of the entire crew!

I have doctored many many of my pets from dogs to ferrets to cats myself and my family wouldn’t trust any other veterinarian clinic ! we have doctored for over 15 yrs with them there very kind and loving and knowledgeable trustworthy they treat my pets like they would treat there own and you can’t ask for more than that !! I wouldn’t ever take your pet here if you want to see it again. I took my german shepard here to get his lip stitched and they killed him. This place is a joke it was a healthy young german shepherd. They should be ashamed to even call this an animal clinic. They are so unprofessional and unreliable never taking any pet back.

If you need any service for your 4 legged family member this is the place to call. Always have had superior service .

We rescued a miniature yorkie several years ago. No idea of his past experiences or medical history. He has been hospitalized three times since, close to death and the great staff here has brought him through every time. Everyone here is so loving and caring ???? They go above and beyond to give the best care to your babies.

This clinic has saved/extended the lives of my beloved pets. I just recently lost a 21-year-old cat and have a 19-year-old cat. I have witnessed one of the doctors sitting in the floor, sharing a sandwich with my dog who wouldn't eat, but seemed to like the sandwich! It's so assuring to know that, day or night, my vets are just a phone call away. Yes! Someone is on call 24/7!

I moved back to Portsmouth after being gone 40 years. I went to one vet and just didn't like the care/service I was getting for my very ill dog. I came to Shawnee Animal Clinic and am s-o-o-o pleased! Everyone is very professional, kind, and helpful. I had to have my precious dog put to sleep in the middle of the night a year ago July 20th after only two visits with Dr. Angie. Dr. Angie came in the middle of the night to meet me to put Wilson so sleep.. She was wonderful and sat with me a while afterwards. I, now, take my cats there and am equally pleased with the care and service they get. I can't say enough good things about them.

This place I could not thank enough!!! I took my baby Lillith who I had for only 1 day and weighed 2 lb having seizures and barely alive saved her life!!!! They are affordable and loving wonderful people! Thank y’all for saving my baby

I called after hours number last night because I felt my cat is getting progressively worse with digestive issues and appears to have an Upper respiratory infection. I was given option to be there and call at 8 am because they had an appointment cancellation and i would not have to pay the emergency visit fee. I was there this morning by 7:45 am and called at precisely 8 am and was told very rudely that there were no openings. I told her I was assured there was an appointment avail this am due to a cancellation and I just had to be there and call at 8 am yet the rude employee just said sorry, that it was a different shift and they have 5 people on phones and no openings, and cancellations were filled. I told her again that I was there in parking lot and I only saw one other car in lot and that was for a grooming appointment. I told her I felt I have an emergency. She then said if I paid the emergency fee and office visit fee they could see me right away. Funny how there are supposedly no appointments avail, even though no one else in parking lot, and if I just agree pay for the Emergency visit, they suddenly can see my pet! This tells me this office is all about the money! I will never go here again. Thankfully I was able to get my cat help elsewhere.

I had an emergency situation on 6-8-21 after my coonhound attacked my miniature dachshund - my baby ❤️ dog. I had called my (now former) vet's office before 5:00 - they were opened until 5:30 - and was told all the vets were GONE for the day. I was advised to take him to the Emergency Animal Hospital in Ceredo-Kenova! An hour away! BUT they wouldn't open until 6 pm! Instead, I rushed him to Shawnee Animal Clinic, where he was treated promptly and professionally by Dr. Wesley D. Pattison. I am SO thankful and grateful for the care my dog received. AND they were willing to work with me on the bill, which wasn't outrageous. I will now be taking ALL my current and future pets back to Shawnee Animal Clinic because the care of my furbabies is too important not to be given the best! And it still makes my blood boil that some local vets are willing to refer patients in an emergency to an animal hospital an hour away - and possibly have that ANIMAL DIE! - than tell people about Shawnee Animal Clinic - which has a vet on-call after-hours for emergencies - 15 minutes away! All to try to keep a few dollars out of their "competitors" pockets. ???????? I can't, in good conscience, support vets like that. So, thank you SO much, Dr. Gail Counts, Dr. Angie Sherman, Dr. Wesley Pattison and all the other staff at Shawnee Animal Clinic for ultimately putting the lives and welfare of animals first!

Dr. Angie and Krissy left a lasting impression on our family with the loving care provided to our Thumbelina. They taught us about her condition as they fought fervently to save her. Horse care is hard to find in our area and when our regular horse vet was tied up with other clients, Dr. Angie and the staff graciously stepped in. Thank you!

We recently took our puppy there when he got sick, turns out he had parvo. They took him quick on an emergency when we called, they got us in, in less than an hour. Very professional! They handled the situation really good! They treated him... yes they are expensive but the old saying goes you get what you pay for.. they saved our puppy and sent him home with us after 4 days... We highly recommend them. Great Veterinarian, great people, very nice and understanding! 10/10 from us! Thank you to the Shawnee Animal Clinic and their Team!!

Care received from doctor was very good however expect to pay more than double than anywhere else. Went because only place that could work in our cat. They automatically take bloodwork before vet even comes in which jacks up the bill further. Bloodwork, office visit, 1 xray and 3 take home meds (no injections) $350.00!!!! Use only in an emergency!! Just as good of care elsewhere!

Cost a little bit more money than I expected,, but they saved my little miniature wiener dogs life, I guess no amount of money can compare to that

We've been going here for years. Place is neat and clean. Looks like a day spa. It runs just like a hospital and makes you feel like family.

Great vet's and emergency hours saved a outside Cat that got hit by around

the staff and drs. at shawnee animal clinic are exceptional in care and understanding where the health and welfare of buddy,my 12 yr old male cat,is concerned!!! they readily take my cals and try to get answers at all hours. i lost my wife …

We had to put one of our feline fur babies down because he was suffering with cancer. The staff was very understanding and kind to us and allowed us as much time with him to say our goodbyes as we needed.

Shawnee Animal Clinic is a beautiful facility filled with the most caring and animal loving staff. Unfortunately, pet emergencies never happen Monday through Friday from 9 to 4...and when other offices are closed, Shawnee Animal Clinic offers 24/7 round the clock care to me and my pets. No other practice in this area has ever shown as much compassion and dedication towards me and my pets. The customer service that is beyond compare and I am forever grateful for the exceptional care my pets have received time and time again.

Pricey but worth it. Great Doctors and staff(some). Recently lost my dog I feel the Dr did everything he could to save him BUT I had to leave my boy overnight for a blood transfusion. The care tech I spoke with hours before seeing my dog told me he was doing good and being playful (my dog was never playful) when I went to SAC for what i thought was a just a visitation before bringing him home...I ended up having to put him to sleep because he was dying. Had I listened to the care tech I would've never seen him in his last few hours of life because I would've just waited and picked him up the next day when the vet said he was ready(had been less than 24 hrs) I think the Tech either mixed dogs up or didn't actually check him on...either way I hope she gets it together so other animal owners don't have to get a horrible surprise like I did and get to their pets sooner if that unfortunate event happens to others.

I had a female Rott with a liver disorder and she was very susceptible to alot of stuff do to the disorder. They were there everytime she needed care no matter the time. They were always willing to go the extra mile and not give up on my sweet girl. She lived several years longer than expected because of these wonderful people.

I have taken my dogs here for years and have always had excellent care and been greeted with friendly staff. Staff are very detailed with any after care instructions which makes going home easier and less stressful for me and both Abbie and Luna. In addition, they follow up with us to answer any questions that may arise once we are home. Thanks Shawnee Animal Clinic for loving Abbie and Luna as much as I do!
