Lots of treasures! The store is run by unpaid volunteers. All the proceeds go to the medical care of cats and dogs, food, shelter and much more! Its worth checking out!!

Last time I was inside this establishment was for an acquaintance inspection, when I worked as a Pittsburgh Professional Firefighter, at least 20 years ago! This time I donated $100.00 and took home some really unique stuff for Christmas gifts, for my family! Iwould have never realized what goodies were available, collector's knickknacks and possibly some antiques! All donations and proceeds go 100% including 100% volunteers to animal's, advocates! God Bless! ????????????????????‍???????? Thank You ! ????????????????????????????‍????

The volunteers in the store there were not very nice. It would be great because their organization benefits animals, unfortunately not though

This place has so much cool, vintage looking decor. Tons of knick knacks, some clothing, lots of dishes and kitchenware. And the cats are adorable!!!

What you spend there all goes to the pets, I love that! You never know what you'll find there it's different every day!

The cause that they believe in of taking care of animals is great. Unfortunately very rude people in their shop. Not a nice experience.

This is a terrible organization that doesn’t even deserve one star, but you are unable to leave a zero star review. The people that work there are very rude! I went to the location and was treated like I was bothering the staff just by being there! I asked a few simple questions about the adoptable kittens and it seemed like I was a nuisance. She was more interested in digging around inside dirty boxes than answering a simple question about adopting!. I realize a person could be having a bad day, but this has happened on more than one occasion, by more than one employee. I’m sorry to say but it seems like a bunch of cranky cat ladies who don’t know how to actually treat human beings. Save yourself the mistreatment and adopt elsewhere!

No-kill animal rescue that makes extensive use of foster homes. Lifetime commitment to the animals they rescue. Wonderful care... Happy cats and dogs make for happy pets!

I love this little shop. There are always treasures and often one of their foster pets hanging out waiting to say hi!

Oh my their clothing shop IS A hidden treasure of a store. It is a MUST stop to see their inventory! NOT overpriced, at all. Cute, Cute stuff. I added some pics of the Chico's top and unique jewelry I have purchased there. Plus the staff is SO nice and very friendly. Make it a WIN-WIN for everyone! Plus around Christmas time they have a pet photo day at their Holiday Extravaganza, posted is one cute pic that turned out from that day.

It's a well curated thrift shop. I bought a really neat stovetop espresso maker that both brews and froths. I also got a ceramic glaze clay Dutch oven that does great in the microwave. The biggest steal was the great big stainless steel roaster pan for my thanksgiving turkey. The kitchenware in this place is fantastic and fairly priced. My aunt bought Jewlery.

I am presently a volunteer at Animal Advocates. All the volunteers are Amazing and Dedicated. We take the Best care of the beautiful cats and dogs we have up for adoption. These pets are truly blessed to be taken care of by the Animal Advocates volunteers until they find a wonderful new family to love them!!! Love the thrift shop too. I buy many "treasures" at the shop. We always need new volunteers. Please consider.

Great little hidden treasure in the West end. Got a lot of neat things there today. One was an old movie camera party prop which I can't wait to use! And all the proceeds go to cats and dogs that they take care of. Store employee was very helpful and personable.

I would give no stars if I could...no one answered phone or emails in 3 days..I went store to see the animal I wanted to adopt and the girl at the store called the people at animal advocates and gave them my number..still nothing ..not even a lil response...good people wanna adopt these animals and if you look at the reviews they never respond..how can anyone ever adopt something from here...The contact info is Patricia..maybe you should try a lil harder to help people adopt..

Would not recommend shopping there or adopting cats and dogs through this organization. Unreasonable oppressive volunteers that don't want to listen to anyone's opinions unless they align with their own. I volunteered here for years and was treated unfairly. On a regular basis, items that were donated to the store were often discarded. My work went by unappreciated.

Great cause and they really do care about the surrendered pets, you can tell by the set up they have.

Been volunteering at Animal Advocates Pittsburgh since 2014. They work hard to save animals. I have fostered over 15 dogs since 2014 and am so happy to have made a difference for all of them. Animal Advocates gets many of their animals from rural shelters in West Virginia and Ohio where foot traffic is low. These animals are truly saved when they come to Animal Advocates.

Absolutely adore this cute little shop! I'd highly recommend it for interior designer as well as regular people looking to decorate their homes. Prices are very inexpensive and you never know what you may find there. All their items are donation based so it constantly changes. Best part is the proceeds go towards helping shelter animals so win, win! I'm decorating my home in a traditional Victorian style which are hard to find items and I've had no problem finding things there that match. They carry household items, decor, paintings, clocks, jewelry, pet toys, clothing, shoes, purses, dishware and cookware, even small furniture items! Handmade candles and pet toys. Even collectibles....a little bit of everything. They do have limited hours though and close around 3 pm.
