Dr. Steffen went over and above her attentiveness and compassion for my two boys. Coming from a vet clinic I had been with for 20+ years I had no doubt that making the change to Companion Animal Medical Center was the best decision I could have ever made for superior care of my senior boys. She spent 1 1/2 hours tweaking one of my boys preventative care to what was in his best interest. In all my decades of being a pet parent I have never experienced this. The entire staff at Companion Animal Medical Center we're professional, attentive, caring and compassionate. They were a very calming influence and the proof was in my boys behavior while there. They were at ease, relaxed and actually laid down, head and all. From this point forward this is where my boys will be receiving their senior care.

Dr Steffen and her team are the cat’s meow (see what I did there?). Coming to the office feels like a family renunion- except you’re actually happy to see everybody. It has been the same friendly faces in the office since we began trusting her with our pets’ care 10+ years ago. I appreciate how Dr Steffen and anyone else evaluating the pet are willing to get down on the floor with them to help them feel comfortable. Throughout their visit, I feel encouraged to ask questions and voice my opinion. I love that both conventional and non-conventional methods are proposed, with pros and cons to both. We have been at CAMC from every stage of a dog’s life. First was our sweet Nova, who declined quickly after developing cancer. It was so quick and so sudden, but Dr Steffen treated her with compassion and gave my husband and I just the right support as we worked through the news. Then, shortly after, our GSD Sascha developed a ten Pound tumor!! That Dr Steffen was able to remove and confirm benign! She celebrated right along with us. When we brought in Nyx as a puppy, we had some great conversations about our lifestyle, necessary vaccines and the like. Nyx kept getting sick and she was honest with us about likely exposure/ poor practices at a daycare we chose. She helped us evaluate a better daycare situation for her. And most recently, when it came time to let our beloved Sascha go, she again gave us the best support. After we finished saying goodbye , tears running down our faces, she hugged us. Several days later we received a lovely card and memento, that remain next to the paw imprint she made when it was Nova’s time. If you consider pets part of your family, then you need to welcome CAMC into the fold. After all, each visit is like a family reunion.

I have been taking my animals here for almost 6 years now. And I absolutely love it. We get the best care possible. Loving, knowledgeable, and compassionate employees. Plus the prices are the best I've seen! Highly recommend for any pet parent.

I've had the pleasure of having Dr. Stephen and her staff treat my animals for 9 years to current. My very first encounter was to euthanize my beloved doodle who had been battling Lymphoma. Dr. Stephen took one of the worst days of my life and turned it into a very compassionate, soothing experience by creating an atmosphere for myself and my pet to say our goodbyes in a very solemn, dark, candle lit room which went with the mood. I've had other animals euthanized and the experience was quite different. My most recent visit was quite a harrowing experience when my cat went into anaphylactic shock and Dr. Stephen and her staff went into high gear to save her life. She went as far as running home to shower and come back to spend the night on an x-ray table in order to monitor and treat my cat all night. One week of pure hell and my beloved pet is still with me. I can't speak enough for her and her staff. I would recommend CAMC for anyone who truly loves their pet and wants the best care possible.

My family has been bringing our pets to Dr. Steffen for over a decade. Not only do we trust her and her AMAZING staff whole heartedly but recently she took the time to help our older dog when she was taking a personal day and we couldn’t be more thankful for her time.

We do appreciate all that you do to care for Charlie and the attention you all give to him and us. I have often recommended CAMC to personal acquaintances and several times on social media to people looking for a good Animal Clinic. I am …

I will be forever grateful to Dr. Steffen for giving me more time with my cat Chester! He has a mast cell tumor and had stopped eating at one point and I thought it may be time to let him cross over the bridge. She evaluated him and said he wasn’t ready to go and kept him at the center to stimulate his appetite and the open wound on the tumor began to heal. We are still helping Chester manage his condition today, almost two years later. I’m grateful to have the option of using a holistic approach to enhance the quality of his life.

If you are looking for a vet who goes above and beyond in the care of your pets, I highly recommend Dr. Steffen. Every time we have brought our pets in for a visit, her professionalism, compassion and care have been exceptional. This does not only apply within the office, however — Dr. Steffen has always been there to talk if we ever needed, and this has especially been great comfort to our family during a time when our eldest pug is going through health issues. Dr. Steffen is always there to extend her advice and lend her ear with the toughest decisions. She even called us on the 4th of July weekend. Dr. Steffen is no ordinary vet - she watches after every pet as if they were her own.

Dr. Steffen and her staff provide excellent care for their clients, people and pets alike. At our most recent visit, I was very impressed by their standards of practice for ensuring safety for everyone. A call from the parking lot brought a friendly, professional, and masked-for-safety staff member out to get acquainted with our dog and to give us a specific update about how long the doctor would be before it was our turn. Dr. Steffen was a little bit ahead of schedule and our wait was extremely brief. Our dog has a history of seizures and needed to be sedated for a procedure. Dr. Steffen took the time to assure us by explaining her approach to every step of the process before even taking our dog into the exam room. Within 20 minutes, the procedure was over and our dog was all smiles, ready to return home. We were given very specific instructions about post-procedure care, and were told to call if anything concerning should occur. Not only that, Dr. Steffen sent a follow up message that evening to check to see how things were going. We could not be happier with the staff, services, and professionalism provided by Dr. Steffen at Companion Medical Centre.

I can't say enough good things about Dr Steffen, and her staff. Two years ago my small dog suddenly couldn't walk, at age 11. I had planned on having her for longer, so I was quite disappointed. I took her to Dr. Steffen (our usual vet that we visited once a year). She was able to diagnose her on the spot with arthritis and recommended medications and laser treatments. It was like a miracle!, within a few weeks, the dog was back to jumping up on the couch and attempting to chase rabbits in the back yard. She had the laser treatments every week then, tapered to 1x per month. Last fall, when the weather cooled, she again had difficulty walking, Dr. Steffen increased the laser treatment to 1x per week over the winter and she is went back to her regular activities. This has a great opportunity for me to keep my pet during the lonely months of Covid

Recently our cat Roo was blocked, anyone who has experienced this knows how terrifying and dangerous a blockage can be. It was Friday night and I was in hysterics because none of the local vets open on Saturdays were able to see us, they just said "good luck" and that was that. My husband must have texted Dr Steffen, because we received a phone call from her around 9:30pm. She spoke with us regarding Roo's state of being and we were able to determine that he didn't need to go to the emergency room at the moment. Then, in a shocking turn of events, Dr Steffen offered to meet us at her practice early the next morning so she could treat Roo. I could not believe this Dr was willing to come in at 6am on a day that her practice was closed, not only that, she was leaving on vacation later that very same day! We arrived at her office around 6:30 the following morning and she proceeded to administer treatment to our cat for FOUR HOURS! We were able to take him home for close observation rather than sending him to a hospital, so she not only saved his life, but also saved us a ton of money by coming in to take care of him herself rather than referring us to an emergency clinic. I cannot even begin to describe how grateful we are for Dr Steffen's dedication to her patients, her attention to detail, her holistic and compassionate approach to animal care. There are few doctors who care for their human patients as much as Dr Steffen clearly cares for her animal patients. It is obvious she cares for the pet parents as well, understanding how stressful and scary it can be when your animal is ill, and we will forever appreciate it. She is not just a phenomenal veterinarian, she is a kind and compassionate human being and it shows. I would recommend Dr Steffen to anybody who wants the best care possible for their companion animal! Roo went for an additional checkup that Monday and is doing great BTW!

Dr. Steffen and her team are the most loving and nurturing Veterinary staff I've ever encountered! Doc doesn't do meds, procedures, or vaccines to just do them. She looks at the health of the whole animal and then treats everyone of them as if they were her own. She TAKES THE TIME to call you back, to PERSONALLY read and respond to emails, and to make sure she addresses every concern and worry - whether they be big or small. For example; My 8 yo German Shepherd furbaby has a torn CCL my previous Vet wanted to do a procedure called the drawer test which verfies this diagnosis and said they had to do it under anesthesia. (I was terrified, my research showed that this test is very painful upon waking up and the test itself often causes symptoms to be much worse if done too aggressively.) Dr. Steffen offered to try the test without drugs, and did the test without anesthesia and with only little discomfort! My pup was totally fine afterward. If your feeling scared, unsure, or wondering if your doing the right thing for your Furbaby please go see Dr. Steffen. You won't regret it. She takes the TIME, she and her team LISTENS to you, and they always goes ABOVE AND BEYOND. I thank God everyday that I found her and her staff. I only wish I'd found her sooner. This woman truly is a miracle!! Please do keep in mind, she is busy, as is her staff, and every other American that is actually working right now. Every now and then it may take a few days for your answer to come back if research is involved. Rest assured though, the time you're waiting to hear back is being well spent. If Doc isn't happy with the alternative or action that is being presented- she's going to go the extra mile or even to the mat to find the one that she sees as the best fit for you and your furbaby! The thing is - your concerns are always valid to her and her team. Often, I've witnessed her taking time that she doesn't really have to make sure Karmajane is taken care of. (I've received emails from her well after operating hours, when she should be taking time for herself and her family...) In short, look folks. The compassion and empathy that is hard to find in today's society is always present when calling or visiting this office, receiving a follow up visit text or email, or getting a call from the Doc herself. Go see her-she and her team are such a blessing!! I tell her and her team every chance I get that I am so grateful to have them in Karmajane's life and I'm so thankful to all of them for being so kind and caring. Doc and her staff have eased my worry and Karmajane's pain. I am forever indebted for all of the love they've given to me and my girl. Dr. Steffen's candor and honesty in her knowledge and expertise is easy to relate to and always eases my stress. Thank you so very much Doc and your CAMC Team!

Dr. Steffen is the best! She is such a kind hearted person and takes the time to listen and to help you understand when there is something wrong with your pet. She is accessible through email and always very responsive. I am so glad I moved my two babies to her practice. Aaron and the office staff are always so kind as well and helpful. They really make you feel like family when you come for an appointment. I have been to many vets and CAMC always exceeds my expectations!

After an unfortunate accident where our dog's tail got clipped in the car door, Dr. Steffan made herself available to speak with the emergency vet at 10 pm at night. During and after surgery the next day, she and the entire staff were warm, informative, and comforting throughout a stressful experience. Definitely top notch! I'm so glad we chose Companion Animal for all our pet's needs.

They are very understanding and treat your pet like royalty. My dog Smokey likes going to see everyone. He's always a good boy. Went 11/9 and received items to help Smokey. I can see a difference one week later. Will be there in 11/30 with my other dog Sunny.

I started taking my "fur-babies" to Dr. Steffen after she took over Dr. Henehan's practice. I am EXTREMELY happy that I made the decision to go with her. She is kind, compassionate, knowledgeable, respectful and considerate. She doesn't act like this is just a "job" to her. She genuinely, and actually CARES for your pets (believe me, I have been to vets that just act like it's nothing but a job and there is a HUGE difference!). When our cat had a thrombosis saddle block on a Saturday night,we had to take him to an emergency hospital where he eventually died. The hospital must have informed her because early Sunday morning she called me to express her sympathy and cried along with me and just let me sob to her for quite some time. 2 1/2 years later our 13 year old golden doodle got VERY ill. Unfortunately,we knew it was time to let Nibbles go. Dr. Steffen and her staff were amazing throughout that whole entire situation. I don't think we would have gotten through either passing without this compassion. All in all, if you are looking for an incredible veterinarian, you will find that with Dr. Steffen. If I could give her and her staff more than 5 stars, I would! They are awesome!

They are good with my dogs and especially good with the cats. Of which I have many. All with different needs. You can totally count on them in an emergency and just a regular visit. Dr. Steffen and her staff are knowledgable and try to help in every way possible. They treat us like family. Love this place!
