All went smoothly &, as usual, staff were nice, professional & efficient.

Though staff was professional there fees are ridiculously expensive. I was quoted one cost for lab work and when I called back to have it sent they were going to charge me $50 more. Never was shown the actual quote of services on paper just told verbally and only when I asked the cost involved.

I called this morning first thing because my cat (who has been here before, though it has been several years since I've been living away for graduate school) has an eye infection and I wanted to see of he could be seen Friday or Saturday. The person I spoke to was incredibly unhelpful and downright rude; she asked if he had been to another vet more recently, and I said yes and said I could give her the information (I assumed maybe they wanted to have his more recent records faxed over). She cut me off and asked why I didn't just take him there, and when I told her that the vet was in Toledo, 2.5 hours away and I'd just moved back to the area this spring, she just told me the soonest my cat could be seen was four weeks from now. When I clarified that he seems to have an eye infection and I was worried, and asked if she was sure there wasn't a way for him to be seen, she just repeated there were no openings for 4 weeks. No apology, and she didn't provide other options until I asked what she suggested I do, because I was worried about his health and clearly an eye infection can't be left untreated for four weeks. She seemed annoyed and told me to "try one of the larger vets" or go to VIP vet (I dont even know what that is?). So, upset, I said thanks and hung up. I know the staff is typically fantastic--I interned here years ago, brought the cat in question here before, and my late Aunt Kate is the one who recommended Mentor Animal Hospital in the first place & always trusted them with her fur children (and adopted a few rescues from Dr McLaren!). I understand that vets & vet techs have incredibly stressful jobs, especially during the pandemic, but I am really disappointed in the interaction I had this morning. I called because I knew & trusted the doctors here and I am worried about my cat, and I'm flabbergasted by the lack of empathy and assistance provided.

Food is usually very good but this time was just like warm.

I had a scare with my fur baby and they put me at ease and did tests to find nothing! Thank goodness. I wish it didn't cost so much but I think my baby is worth it!

I truly am thankful that my family referred me to the Mentor Animal Hospital. I have been bringing my pets here for a few years now. My pets are very comfortable with Dr. McLaren and Dr. Hornick. They take the time to answer any questions that you may have, and they will usually call you the next day to follow up on your pet. The staff are very friendly also. I would highly recommend this vet to anyone!

I was so hesitant to take my chihuahua to the vet for a teeth cleaning because I was so afraid of having him put under. Mentor animal hospital was so great at explaining things to me to make me feel more comfortable. They even called the next day to make sure Dill was feeling ok. Will surely recommended to others. My dogs have always received excellent, loving care at Mentor Animal Hospital. Diamond adores Dr. Hornick! The doctor and staff are always kind and caring. They obviously genuinely care about each patient and they truly understand how much we love our pets.

I called today with a few questions and the women who I spoke with was very rude. I was hoping to establish care here for my dog but I will look elsewhere.

MAH gave us adjoining appointments for our two dogs. It helped in the fact that they are together all the time and eliminates their anxiety during the poke and prod, then vaccinations. They are very good in the handling and care of all our animals.

They were gentle to my little Trixie. She wasn’t fearful at all . I m so grateful that changed Veterinarian, Thank you for care you gave my little girl. Cheryl

We left our old vet, not because of the Dr, but the staff wasn’t that great. We started coming here and this place had great staff and a great Dr too.

The Ladies are very helpful and very nice to your pet.and very friendly. And our dog looks forward to his visits.

I took my beloved cat Tiger Lily for a visit because she had been sick for the last 3 days. The staff worked her in as an emergency. They were wonderful. We are awaiting blood work results and will follow-up with further treatment pending results. Everyone was caring, competent, kind and professional. Well-pleased.

I’ve been taking my dogs here for many years. I have always found the front office staff to be friendly, kind and helpful. I know we’re in good hands with Dr. Mclaren and Dr. Hornick. N my experience, communication is good and the care is thorough.

Friendly and really care about animal family members

I've been coming here for a while, and I just have to say every single time the woman at the front desk, brown hair and glasses, is so unpleasant, EVERY SINGLE TIME....I can see once....if it wasn't for everyone else I would rate one star. This woman is just awful, uncaring, acts like the patient is a problem and inconvenience for her every time. Its exhausting, I just want my dog and I to feel welcome.
