I had purchased my White Shepherd Shilo from Jim and Karen over 12 years ago. She has been completely healthy and continues to provide me with love and joy each and every day. I would most certainly entertain the idea of purchasing another pup from them for a companion for Shilo. Thankyou so much for the wonderful dog and happiness you have given to both of us. Greg Koehn. We purchased a puppy 8 years ago. She has been a wonderful addition to family! Very healthy and great demeanor. Will definitely obtain another dog from Karen and Jim in the future.

Iggy is 2 years now and a smart fun warm addition to the family. I am glad we found her here. She is even good with our 16 year old cat.

I can’t help but feel some of these reviews are from disgruntled ex employees. While I have never seen the farm in person, I have one of their dogs, and she has been the picture of perfect health her entire life. She has the most beautiful disposition and has been an amazing member of our family that I don’t know what I will do without. She is currently 13. She has minor hip problems that the vet said doesn’t give her a hard time because she is at a perfect weight. She has had a comprehensive health exam once a year every year of her life (not counting visits for the occasional ear infection or other normal dog ailments) at her last two comprehensive exams (done at two different vet offices) we were told she is in extremely good health for her age and the last doctor told us she would not be surprised if we ended up with a 16 year old lady on our hands. She now has selective hearing, she won’t go outside to potty if she doesn’t feel like it, she won’t get up when you open the front door, we just have to kind of push her out of the way with the door, but she is old. Her disposition has not changed one bit. She is not cranky or crabby, only tired. She has no problems eating, she still loves going to the park, and now she thinks she can tell us what to do (she can) she is so sweet and amazing and is getting her is one of the top 5 moments I’ve ever had in my life! She was a great pup and really was so easy to potty train. She was kept in a crate at night and when we went to work, she kind of potty trained herself. She is so intelligent and emotional but in a good way. She is a second mother to our children and I need to stop now cause I could go on forever! Oh yea also she is incredibly good looking, which I know is not the end all be all. Their dogs are very desirable in the looks department, and I’m not just saying that because I’m her mom, we have been stopped by many a strangers to tell her she is a pretty girl. DONT GET A GSD IF YOU CANNOT PROVIDE THE APPROPRIATE ACTIVITY LEVEL THAT THEY REQUIRE WHICH IS HIGH!!!!

Just had to put down our 87% wolf/dog, Cheyenne. She was almost 14 yrs old. Bought from Chaparral as a tiny pup. I would say that's good breeding! She was beautiful.

I would highly recommend buying your puppies elsewhere. We bought a "wolfdog" from them. After having several people tell us the dog looks nothing like a wolf we decided to dna test him. They were right he is zero percent timber/grey wolf. …

Spoke with a former worker, as well as the humane society, and this place is a puppy mill. Nothing on their website is upheld. They are not fed high quality diets and purified water. They are not given outdoor exercise time or socialized. …

Miguel I saw your most recent review on fake reviews. I am a former employee and therefore know what that kennel is from the inside. Deplorable conditions. Under weight dogs who are over bred. Jim and Karen only have a business. When I …

This was a great place for the first three years we had our dog. However, after two years he had to have both knees replaced due to bad joints. By year four he had developed heart cancer ( the vet said it was due to extreme inbreeding). …

We visited Karen & Jim in early May of 2004 when my wife picked out the most gorgeous puppy. Wednesday May 31, 2017 we laid our Kota to rest. Karen was always able to help us out through the 13 plus years of Kota's life. Always teaching us hard facts and nutritional values. I strongly recommend Chaparral K9/Chaparral Farm as a source of quality whether it be a dog, wolf hybrid or instruction. Remarkable loving good people. I trust Karen's advice and direction. Second to none as far as I'm concerned.
