Dogs Only Medical Center Gahanna, Ohio

This vet is very unprofessional. My dogs had diarrhea with blood and she was convinced that they had Parvo (they didn’t) without even doing a test. She had me sit there for an hour then charged me 130 for doing nothing and told me i needed to go to MedVet. She made me feel like a terrible mom because i didn’t have their vaccination records, even though i told her i was sure they had been vaccinated for Parvo. If you don’t care about bedside manner, if a vet is warm and kind to you and your dog, or if she’s able to give you an accurate diagnosis, by all means, take your pet here.

Would not recommend. The Doc was rude and had an attitude when I had questions. They have no payment plan and wanted all the money upfront before my dog had the surgery and when I picked him up they did more x-rays that I didn't ask for but had to pay for on top of then money I already gave them. Doc Prescott surgical stills are good but her customer service stills are not. Her staff was great with my dog.

I love our vet! She and her staff are wonderful, knowledgeable, kind, loving and gentle with our dog! We are so glad we found this place! In addition I have only seen one other pet facility as clean as this one. Considering my age and the number of pets I have had that is saying a lot. Dr. Prescot gives more than any other vet I have used. This is not saying the others do not care it is simply expressing how much she cares and gives of herself in the care of the pets she sees. Thank you for supply such an incredible place for mans best friend!!!

Let's start with the positives -- The staff is amazing. The front desk staff are very well trained and polite on the phone. Scheduling was simple and all of the instructions were very clear. Overall, I'd say my dog's care was above average. The not so great -- STICKER SHOCK. Here is a breakdown of what I was charged: Initial Consult - $112 Pre-surgical bloodwork - $189.54 Pre-surgical Low-to-High Estimates - $437.07 - 553.51 Actual surgical cost ABOVE high estimate - $1,905.11 (that's not a typo) Total Cost of All Care - $2,760.16 Here's where I'm torn; how in the world can an estimate be so far off from the billed expenses? I'm assuming the rationale is, "We don't know until we get in there"; however, I'd argue that you were "in there" for the initial consult. I also understand that x-rays are important and that you wouldn't know the true scope of the dog's need until after those are done. There should be an option to have x-rays done prior to the day of surgery in order to give accurate estimates. As an aside, when they called during surgery and explained the new costs, it wasn't clear that these new amounts would be in addition to the "high estimate". So, that threw me for a loop when I sat down and went through all of the charges. Again, I can't emphasize enough that my dog got appropriate care. That I cannot argue. However, I'm having a very difficult time justifying the actual costs of care due to the fact that they were so far above and beyond the initial estimates.

Dr. Prescott and her staff are so sweet and helpful for us furparents. They have done extensive dental work on our German Shepherd Jake. Appreciate Dr. Prescott for being able to diagnose his disease and help him????????

The folks at dogs only are almost like extended family, who our pup LOVES to visit! That's what has kept us around for 10 years - when our pup sees the door he can't wait to go in for his appointment!

We have always had a great experience with Dr Prescott and Staff...She has been our veterinarian for over 25 years. My 10 year old goldendoodle, Sammy has been a patient for a couple of months, now. Dr. Prescott and the staff have been so kind and helpful as we've dealt with a slew of medical issues. They treat Sammy like he's their own member of the family. Dr. Prescott is incredibly thorough and knowledgeable. She took the time and researched a medication Sammy was being stubborn about taking, and gave me advice on how best to give it. And it worked! They are also kind enough to file my dog insurance claims. That is a major relief for me. Thank you, Dr. Prescott and staff! I'm happy to call you my veterinarian.

We came to DOMC to get a 2nd quote for a tooth extraction. Our family vet doesn't do the surgery. From the minute I walked in the door, I was thoroughly impressed! It's an aesthetically pleasing facility-- Cute decor with bright and airy exam rooms. Cathy at the front desk, our nurse and Dr. Prescott were ALL fantastic and top notch. Everyone was extremely nice. They really made my dog feel extra special. Additionally, you can tell they're very passionate about their jobs. I believe when people genuinely care, it emits through their interactions & the work they do-- I can 100% say they truly cared! Dr. Prescott was very thorough and didn't rush through the appointment like we have experienced with other specialists in the past. She walked me step by step through the procedure and made me feel very comfortable. I was honestly blown away by her level of care and professionalism. A bonus was the quote for the surgery came in less than our first quote at another local facility. Still, it seems to be on the higher side of the price range for the procedure BUT truth be told-- the staff was SO excellent that they could have probably thrown any number my way and I would have accepted it. Honest! They were GREAT! Thank you so much for the excellent care. I am 100% certain Lincoln is in good hands!

Amazing new location! I worked for Dr. Prescott for almost three years and I continue to take my dogs to her for treatment. It’s because I trust Dr. Prescott and her staff more than anyone else with my dogs preventative care and treatment. They are very thorough and sincerely love all dogs that walk through their doors. As I maintain a great relationship with the doctor and staff, I am satisfied with every visit to Dogs Only Medical Center. I highly recommend this veterinary practice for your dog/s. In addition to the excellent service that the doctor and her staff provide, this place is spotless! I always appreciate a place of business that goes above and beyond to maintain the cleanliness of the practice.

We love this place. Unfortunately, we just had to put down our 10 year old lab but he had gone to dogs only from the time he was 7 weeks old until his passing. I have been a patient of Dr. Prescott for over 7 years. Tiki always receives wonderful care and is always very well taken care of when we go there. Dr Prescott and her staff are very diligent with his care and always take the proper amount of time necessary to diagnose, comfort and treat him. He is not the easiest patient when having his nails cut or his sacs drained, yet they are very tolerant and comforting with him. I came to Dr. Prescott because of a horrible experience I had with the Banfield Clinic, who seemed more interested in billing than patient care.
