Last night we took our budgie, Zazu in because he appeared to be very sick, and me having a decent amount of knowledge on birds myself, had no clue what was wrong with my baby. This was actually the first time I needed a vets help because I felt so afraid for him. They got us in and we waited for a bit, and were helped by a gentleman who was very gentle with our boy. He gave us the diagnosis, which was Zazu's crop was full of seed, and then gave him some liquid to help him clear it out. I'm highly appreciative for this doctors help, and the rest of the amazing staff that was there last night. Our boy is doing much better today and has essentially started acting like his usual self. Birds can be easily stressed but the staff kept him calm, he didn't even fly off the scale in panic. Now i just have to really work to get my little seed hog off of the seeds so he doesnt clog himself up again and cause this bird mama to panic. ???? Thank you so much for all of your help last night!

Rushed our kitten here to get examined. I had gotten him from a shelter a couple weeks ago. I was in the shower when my son came and said the kitten was hurt. Went to look and he was acting crazy. There was blood on his paw and he was scooting around on his belly like he was experiencing a tremendous amount of pain. I thought his leg got broke somehow. I was really worried so I rushed him 45 minutes to this clinic to get him checked out. The vet takes him back and does a visual exam, comes back in the room and says he thinks it’s neurological. That the blood on his paw was just from getting snagged on something. He started asking about possible head trauma. I told him i didn’t know what happened because I was in the shower. He did no tests, no x-rays, nothing. He pretty much gave me one of two options to help my kitten. 1. Pay $2,257 for a number of treatments that may or may not help or 2. Euthanize him. There was no in between. No possible thing we could try that didn’t cost so much seeing as how I didn’t have that kind of money right after the holidays. I asked if he could give me some pain medication so I could take him home and if there was no improvement take him to my vet. Him and the nurse acted like I was a monster for not picking between the two options I was given. I wasn’t going to just kill the kitten without being positive that was the only way to ease his suffering. I paid $225 for that advice and some medicine. The next day there was improvement and now our kitten is running around like nothing ever happened. Sad to think because I didn’t have the money I would have put him down based on medical advice from this clinic.

Our Nelly decided on New Years Day to swallow a sock. Abby was wonderful on the phone with helping us. Once we arrived they took her back right away and were quick and wonderfully helpful. They were able to help her and send her home still wagging her tail. Thank you so much!!

These people here are super sweet and compassionate. We had to wait awhile due to us going in over the holidays but it was well worth it. The vet really knows what he's doing, doesn't do anything uneeded to try to take your money, and was extremely kind to both our dog and to my wife and I. He made sure to walk us through everything he was thinking and explain to us his reasoning and he did it in a way where everything made perfect sense and we were able to make a well informed decision on what we should do next because of it. Our pup ended up being absolutely fine after some pain meds which weren't expensive at all. Also, it's nice that all of the staff seemed happy with their jobs. Even though they were super busy when we went in, we could here some of the staff laughing with each other and just generally having good moods and that was a nice ambience to be in while we were feeling down and worried about our pup.

0 sense of urgency, been here 2 times with 2 different dogs, 1st time they couldn't figure out what was wrong with our dog, 2nd time we came in with our dog bleeding profusely while we sit and wait, dog making a puddle of blood on the floor

My wolfhound has heart issues. He was seen by the staff cardiologist at NIVES. she diagnosed him and prescribed medications. While he has only six to twelve months to live, she saved his life. This is as good as it gets!

Staff here at this location needs some attention. Vet was just okay, didn’t feel that she was very thoughtful or through in her approach. Techs were trash talking both animals and clients and using profanity in the hallway behind exam rooms. That did not make me feel comfortable leaving my pet in their care I asked if the vet was in surgery to the receptionist in the front, as we had been sitting for an hour with no communication and she said “just like every other business in the world we are short staffed so it’s going to take awhile”, well a little communication goes along way, perhaps an update once an hour? Sitting out at the desk watching TikTok’s must be what they pay her for. For the amount of money paid I would have hoped for a better experience all around,

We were refered here by our regular vet after our 9 year old German Shorthair Pointer Blake fractured his femur. Every interaction I had with the staff from calling in with questions, to appointment scheduling, to meeting with them in person when taking him to appointments has been fantastic! They truly care about animals and what is best for them. Dr. Parker was so good with Blake and he was not at all nervous with her, which never happens! She was able to place a pin in his femur and he is now home recovering. We were sent home with very detailed instructions on his care and they had even gone as far as cutting his pills that he received half a pill of for me, which was such a nice surprise when I went to give it to him that night. Yes it was expensive, as any surgery of this nature would be on a 70 lb dog, but worth the price to know our dog was in such good care!

This place was suggested to us from our vet. Our 5 year old Shih-tzu had a liver shunt and surgery was suggested. Dr.Parker gave the surgery and our dog went through the surgery fine. The next morning he was having tremors and they gave him some meds. Typical with this surgery and seizures are typical as well. He was on seizure meds a week prior to surgery and would have been on them weeks after….but he didn’t make it that far. He had a grand mal seizure that afternoon and basically never recovered from that. He ended up having cardiac arrest and that’s what took him but we feel in our hearts that the ball was dropped somewhere, somehow…this place failed our dog. We never really got a clear answer as to why this happened. The odds of a dog not surviving this surgery was 5%. I was told maybe there was more wrong with the liver, more shunts maybe that weren’t seen..why weren’t they seen? They only did an ultrasound and not a CTscan had they done the scan maybe they would have found other ones and in that case he shouldn’t of even had the surgery…my friend had the same surgery on her dog there (that’s why we went there) different doctor did hers DR Coleman. Her dog survived it, mine didn’t, her dog had a CTscan, mine didn’t. karma will come to those who failed him…

We took our three month old puppy to this place by default and we brought him out in a body bag today. Experience was terrible through the door. The tech/nurse was real nasty to us was only concerned about payment. Our thoughts were to just leave but another tech stated that she thought our puppy should be placed on oxygen. Then the doctor suggested that we let him stay overnight. Which was the biggest scheme of all time. My thoughts are if you do not want to serve Staffordshire terrier pups then just say that through the door. Or was it the people that you didn't care for? The doctor we talked to today didn't seem to know anything or the treatments just keep saying we are giving him opioids every four hours. The truth of the matter is he probably didn't get treatment at all probably just put him in a kennel and let him suffer until he died.

I brought my cat, Bobbie, in today for an emergency visit. She had stopped eating and was lethargic. I adopted an energetic but sneezy kitten in October and he ended up passing on a virus to her. They got me in within the hour, explained my options to me without making me feel pressured, performed some blood work, and sent us off with medication. Yeah, it was expensive, but well worth it to get Bobbie feeling better again. Great bedside manner! Everyone was nice, patient, and honest. Appreciate the vet and staff for everything they did.

My wife and i had a scare with our Ghost and had to take him to a hospital. Our normal vet suggested this place and as soon as i came in cradling him they rushed and took him back right away. The staff is extremely friendly and give you all the information you need. They don't care about the money, only your furry loved one(s). I am forever grateful for them taking care of our boy

We had to bring our dog there as our vet was 2 weeks out and was having health issues of his own. The staff was very friendly as well as the Dr. We were in and out fairly quick for as busy as they were. The care given was what i would want and our dog is recovering nicely. Its a bit pricey but at 8pm in the evening with no notice its expected to pay a bit more for the urgent need.

So I haven’t been here (yet, hopefully never will be!) but I have called to run my dogs symptoms by someone twice now and both times have gotten phenomenal advice, warning precautions of when we would come in vs. when we could wait to see our primary vet which has been very helpful and much appreciated!

They were more interested in trying to order blood tests, X-rays and quoting significant dollar amounts for surgery rather than simply treat the animal …. Whoever owns this boondoggle is making a mint on “ exam” fee …. After 4 hours left , went to our vet the next morning…. No mention of X-rays or blood tests or drainage tubes ….. just stitched up pup and she was great….. seems like this is a profit making machine and Animals or second hand fodder

The wait was extremely long on the weekend. I was told 3-4 hours and it was more like 5-6 hours. My poor puppy was in extreme pain whining in lobby. However, when our puppy finally was seen by staff the service was incredible. The weekend Doctor & Tech was amazing. I would not say the same about check in/out front desk staff. Our puppy also had to get an expensive but necessary surgery. There was no one else capable of or confident enough in completing the surgery in Indiana and/or some of the surrounding states; except Dr. Coolman. Dr. Coolman spoke with me directly and expressed how confident he was in completing the surgery for our puppy. The post op x-rays were amazing!! We're still waiting for other follow up appointments and will keep you posted on further review. Highly recommend Dr. Coolman!

We just had the heartwrenching task of euthanizing our sweet cat Lara. I cannot express my thanks to the staff and doctor. From having a special 'goodbye' room, to their kindness and compassion, I am forever thankful. Giving us a sympathy note and an imprint of Lara's nose and paws was so unexpected but so appreciated. You and the animals you care for will be in our prayers. We are forever grateful for helping us through this very difficult day.

The staff and doctors here are amazing. It’s a bit of a wait time if it’s none emergent but that’s understandable. Definitely recommend.

My cat wasn’t helped. They wouldn’t let me see her before they passed, and the called Me 20 entire minutes after she passed away. I will never recommend these guys to anyone. Screw you guys for not wanting to do your job. You left me with so much misery.

We live an hour and a half away from NIVES, but the reviews were great so we took our dog there late one night. We found out he unfortunately had parvo. The nurses and drs were all so nice and so honest with us! They has amazing care for our dog! They weren’t upset with me for calling multiple times a day to check on him: They have been so helpful with his home aftercare as well and don’t mind answering questions! They had our pup Reggie for 6 days.. and we are on day 4 of him being home and he is back to normal eating and drinking and playing with his toys! Thank you to everyone at NIVES for loving our boy and taking amazing care of him! If we are ever in an emergent situation again we will be making the drive! We have recommended them to everyone we know with fur babies!❤️

Found a dog in the middle of the street look like he was hit by a car. it was 12 at night this was the only place open. a professional named Mindy answered the phone, calmed me down ,and gave me the address. She even met me at the door when I arrived and took over. I thank you all for 24 hour service. I pray that dog makes it and reunite with his family. Mindy you were my hero tonight.

My new cat had an accident and being no where near a 24ht vet, I called NE Veterinary and got a hold of Mindy who was kind enough to answer my questions as best she could over the phone. I appreciated the comfort she gave me. Thanks!

Unfortunately, I have had to take 3 of my animals to NIVES throughout my life and everytime they are knowledgable, kind, understanding, and informative. They are not crazy expensive like you would think, either! I wish there was another location! Thank you, NIVES staff, for being exactly what we need!

We brought our Husky Arian here after she got out. We thought she had been hit but she had been attacked by another animal. Despite 4 days in the ICU and surgery after surgery, plasma treatments and a blood transfusion we lost our girl. We are beyond grateful to Nives for at least giving us 4 more days with her. My only issue was the day she passed we waited to see her for a hour and a half and not even 3 minutes after getting into a room (because we were just going to do a kennel visit so we waited longer) one of the girls came in and said to come quick that she was trying to pass. We no more then got in the kennel with her and she took her last breath. So my only issue was that wait time because I could have spent that time with her instead of as she was taking her last breath. But the care she received was phenomenal there. Definitely not a cheap vet but worth every penny. They even stamped her foot for me so I can get it tattooed on my leg. When Arian passed the Vet on duty was Jennifer Stresemann and you can tell she cares about the animals more than the money unlike some other vets at other places. She cried with us and told us how sorry she was. I’ve never seen another vet cry over the loss is a “pet” that wasn’t theirs. We know we made the right decision when we brought Arian here, despite the circumstances.

Wait time is horrible. And it’s also terrible to be in room 4. You get to hear all the employees joking around and laughing while you wait to see if your pet is okay. If you have another option, go there instead. Awful.

Our little 4 1/2 years old terrier was coming across the living room & into the bedroom turning in circles & falling down after each circle. Rushed him into your facility, the Vet. ER Hospital. We were told they had other emergencies & that we would have to stay there for 5 hours until they could see him. We couldn't go home where he would be more comfortable & have access to water for 5 hours & come back in 5 hours. No, we had to stay there with a sick, very frightened little dog for 5 hours. Of course we were going to have to pay for just coming in the door, even though we were not getting any care. We left with our very sick dog & I stayed up with him for 72 hours to make sure if he might need more care. I would never go back there unless I could not get ahold of my Vet. or it was a life threatening situation for my "baby".
