Even tho we didn't add to our family this time, we will definitely be back. Very clean and you could tell the dogs are very well cared for. We dealt with a shelter in McKean for our last rescue and will NEVER return there. We will keep an eye on the Anna Shelter web site until we find out next fur baby.

Amazing place. We adopted Dusty and Jake. Both cats were clean, well fed and healthy. We love them so much.

I know they are very helpful to the public They take strays from people who bring them in. They also give free dog and cat food to public. They were very supportive when my own fog was taken. I got her back because of there advice.

I'm a dog lover, not religious, but ANNA is definitely doing God's work! Staff genuinely seems to care about what their doing there, regardless of paid or volunteer.

We adopted our Fred during the pandemic he is the sweetest and we just got our baby Stella. They are both wonderful cats and we thank the anna shelter for doing what they do keeping them safe so we could adopt them.

Told them there is no way possible for me to adopt a cat that my daughter really wanted due to my housing policy which takes a bit of a process so by the time they approve it the cat will be gone so i asked them to work it out with me and help me get a cat that she really wanted, but then I was told to “we’re not changing our policy for you, you can go somewhere else, do you want a list?”

One Saturday evening our 16 year old dog named Minka Joy, who travels at a slow shuffling gait, wandered off our Waterford property and somehow ended up at the Anna Shelter. Unfortunately, the cheap tag with our updated contact information popped out of its frame and was lost. The Anna Shelter worked very hard and went through a lot of trouble tracing us through an outdated lifetime license and computer chip. What a joyous phone call 2 days later that began with "This is the Anna Shelter..."! The next morning we rushed to the Shelter arriving 15 minutes before opening time. The place was a beehive of activity but I couldn't wait to see Minka. When I mentioned her name the workers were ecstatic, reuniting such an old dog with her owners! They said she was a darling and gave her extra blankets each night! Then things got weird. When I turned to make a very generous donation, Ruth just snatched the cash out of my hand and slapped it into the cash register. She never looked up at me and didn't thank me. She just turned away. I'm not sure if she was angry that Minka and me were distracting so many of her busy workers, or that I arrived before opening time. WHATEVER! The 5 plus stars are for her workers! These people genuinely love animals and love their work. The few minutes I spent with them were most enjoyable. I immediately. bonded with them-l also love happy people! We are very fortunate to have all the animal shelters in our area and most importantly, the people who work there. Let us all donate generously to our animal shelters and most certainly appreciate all the people who work at them.

I love this place I am so happy that they take in and help animals that need emergency help and place to live until they're able to find them their forever home!!! I wish there was more places dedicated to helping animals that need help! I also wish the animals cops would try harder and that there were more than a handful of cops available to this cause! There are so many options for help for stray dogs and almost none for cats ! They are all important!????

It was heartbreaking to take my buddy Zues there. I hated having to lose him, but it was better for him. Not only were they friendly, they found him a good and comfortable home within the week. <3

Paperwork is easy to fill out. The workers are sweet. At first they stated couldn't take the kittens because they were running out of space, however, the moment one kitty popped his head out of the box, they immediately took them in. Thanks for taking in the neighborhood strays. <3

I have to say that this was the first visit to see the animals there. This place was so clean and the animals we so well taken care of. The staff was friendly, helpful, but mostly they all cared for the animals here. They are cleaner than the human society. It didnt stink all the kennels were clean food and water by their side. I adopted a fox hound yesterday amd we love him to pieces. Adopting a sheltered dog is the right way to go. They have ppl dropping off animals daily and they take them all with open arms. What was really neat, outside they have a donation box. So if someone is struggling with food for their pets they have a box to help others. So thoughtful amd caring. #teamanna!!!

We adopted the love of our lives from the Anna shelter. Everyone there was amazing, friendly and helpful. Abacus had some minor issues after adoption (mostly anxiety) but their staff took our calls and helped as much as possible as well as had their associated vet call us with guidance. We plan on always including the Anna shelter in our lives (attending their events and fundraisers)!
