My vet recommended this company to help train my dog using positive reinforcement. I was pregnant at the time we hired Alex, and prior to that I worked hard to train my dog to be okay around babies. There was so much info on the internet that I realized we needed special attention for my dog. My 8 year old dog has a VERY high prey drive, and was not going to adjust to a squeaky baby without transitional help (and I was afraid she would never). We worked with Alex prior to me giving birth, and desensitized/prepared my dog the best we could. My dog was a whole new canine, just by doing simple (in hindsight) training with treats. Before we parted from Alex, he gave recommendations for how to introduce our dog to the baby. My pup seemed ready! Enter newborn: The first night was a disaster, so much so that my dog chipped a tooth on her metal crate out of anxiety. I called the vet for anxiety medication, and Alex for additional training. This was an emergency, as I was ready to ship out the dog who had been my fur baby for nearly 8 years out of fear for my newborn. Alex responded immediately and came to see us within that first week. He assessed the situation and helped us start actively training with the baby. When Alex came to our home during this incredibly stressful postpartum period, it was like watching a knight in shining armor--the true dog whisperer! He was able to get our pup to be calm around the baby, and uninterested (which says a lot for a dog with a high prey drive). He taught us what to do, and we actively trained our dog for a few weeks, with maybe 3 additional visits from Alex. Long story short, my dog came off medication and can now be in the same room as the baby without tension! I truly did not think it was possible, but am relieved as I love my pup so much. I cannot thank Alex enough for helping to keep my family together, and he is by far the best dog trainer I've hired. Not only was Alex amazing with our dog, he was a kind person too. He sympathized with my pregnancy aches and he was willing to follow our household COVID-19 safety guidelines without making us feel uncomfortable/silly. He was always on time, and patient when teaching training techniques. I recommend him; thank you Alex!

Out of this World dog training is just that….out of this world. Sarah is absolutely amazing. From the moment she stepped into my house and met my two pups, Stan and Waffles. I knew she was the perfect fit not only for them, but for me. She helped me train them during peak COVID times, when socialization was difficult. She came up with great ways to get them around people (safely) and work on their leash training all at the same time. The amount that my pups and I learned from her has been so important to their development from such a young age. She was available to help answer any questions I had, and always had suggestions and knowledge to share. One of the things I really appreciated is that while training, she also allowed me to get involved and learn so that my pups and I could work together when she wasn’t there and bond while training. Alex exceeds all expectations! Our work with Alex is exciting and extremely effective. After a year of lock down, we completed his Group Obedience Class with our English Springer puppy then immediately moved to one-on-one private secessions. We enrolled in Alex’s Saturday dog walks where we socialize with other dogs and their owners, working the dogs in a group environment. Alex brings the most recent breakthroughs in cognitive science and has transformed many of our outdated training methods. Sara came to help with our Rottie but let the pug come to class too. I learned a lot to work with both puppies. We even did a lesson at the dog park.

Our 6 year old pup is a reactive dog, and that is what we focused on. Signed up for three sessions and it was well worth it. Alex taught us some basic commands to get the dogs attention at first and then by the last sessions we were able to work on the pups reactivity at the Park of Roses with his dog and another trainer’s dog. With him as a trainer, we saw improvements and we were given the tools to continue to improve on the reactivity.

I have done the puppy socialization classes and behavior consulting with Sarah. Our puppy, Nala, is doing so much better around other dogs, and I have learned how to redirect her behavior, which has been wonderful to use on our walks. Alex and Sarah are so patient and calm when working with you and your puppy on how to socialize with other dogs, learn basic commands, and how to challenge your dog when he/she has control over the basic commands. I really enjoy the classes and one on one training and look forward to learning more. I just signed up for the group obedience classes. I feel more confident and Nala is becoming more confident too!

I can't recommend OOTW dog training enough! Alex was fantastic with our 4-year-old westie/schnauzer rescue - Marley is very reactive, and after our first lesson, we noticed a difference. After lesson 3, Marley is a pro at walking on leash, listening to directions, and maintaining composure when someone is at the door. Alex not only helped our dog, but he helped me too! This is the first time I have had an animal outside of my childhood home, and I was nervous and semi-frazzled when I saw behaviors emerge, but now I feel confident and prepared. OOTW offers a service that does not skimp and price that can not be beat.

Sarah was a great communicator confirming our appointments and was very flexible when we changed a meeting location. I love that Sarah worked with us inside our home, outside our home for a walk, and met up with us in a busy public venue. 100% satisfied! We highly recommend Alex's services. We adopted our girl Peppy as a puppy and needed basic walking training as well as some help with resource guarding with toys. We learned so much and so did she. We were able to gather the tools that work for her and continue to use with her training. Alex was very responsive with questions and with scheduling. Sarah is a great trainer. I strongly recommend hiring her services. I literally watched her teach my puppy, Ruby, a new trick in 1 minute. That is faster than fast food. I felt like Tom Hanks in Castaway. I watched Sarah create fire. David Blaine or Sarah? You decide who performs real magic. Woof! I have had many dogs throughout my life, but this is the first time I have used the services of a dog trainer and I couldn't be happier. Sarah taught me so much, she should bring me treats as well. We adopted a 6 year old terrier mix at the end of December. He's a perfect pup except for his reactivity on walks to people and to dogs. Alex worked with us on some basic commands and brought over his dog during one session and the other trainer's dog during another session. Our pup Jerry now has mostly no reactivity to people and has many more nonreactive moments with dogs than he did before the training. When he is reactive he is much quicker to respond and calms down quicker. I walked him with my sister's boxer. The first walk was after our first training and he had random outbursts. The second walk was after our third training and I would have thought he had never had issues with dogs. I'm confident with consistent work that he will be where want.

We moved to the Columbus area this fall and connected with Alex to help us address some “bossy behaviors” that Teddy, our one-year-old goldendoodle, picked up after we began working from home due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In only three sessions, Alex not only showed us how to teach and reinforce basic commands (sit and stay, back up, leave it and more), but also helped Teddy become more polite and well behaved when meeting new people, going on walks and interacting with other dogs. Our only regret is that we didn’t find Alex sooner!

We recently completed our 3rd session with Sarah and couldn't be happier with how much our 14 week old puppy- Bodhi- is catching on to obedience commands and learning to walk on a leash. Sarah is very patient and took as much time as needed to answer all our questions. Honestly, these sessions were as beneficial for us as for the puppy, as it helped us to build confidence in working with Bodhi and navigating the first few weeks of being new puppy owners :)

Alex worked with our 7 month old Husky, and we were blown away by the results! He took time to listen to our concerns and adapted each lesson to our specific needs with our pup. We had no idea how much she could learn. Alex was super easy to communicate with and took time to teach us well. It became apparent very quickly that the new 4-legged addition to our home was going to require more guidance than my husband & I could glean from internet videos & articles. Alex took the time to “meet” with us via zoom & listen to our concerns and our goals. We were impressed with his general calm demeanor, his desire to learn what support we needed most & his willingness to adapt his instruction based on our struggles. Through the course of 3 lessons, Alex gave us to the tools to appeal do our pups’ sensibilities. Out of this world dog trainer was the best decision I made when it came to trainers! Alex personalizes each session and he knows his stuff! We worked around with all the limitations due to covid and it was great. I was so impressed how he handled my 5 month old puppy.
