I brought Hank in on Friday and then again Saturday. Unfortunately, he did not make it and my life was shattered. I am forever greatful for OSU and their treatment of Hank, myself, and our family. Dr. Cassandra did everything she could. She was compassionate, intelligent and really cared about my baby. I will forever be grateful for the care she provided and love she gave him in his final hours. I could not have asked for a better veterinarian. She really did everything she could and when the time came- she gave me the honesty and compassion to make the most difficult decision. Thank you for giving him the best care. I will forever be grateful to you.

I came here for a consultation on a splenectomy for my dog as our primary vet said they found a splenic mass. We were putting out hope that she would be that 1/3 case where it wasn’t cancer. After extensive testing done by the amazing team here, we found out before the surgery that the mass had metastasized throughout the abdomen and chest cavity, indicating the mass was malignant. We decided not to go through the surgery and to take our girl home to spend her final days in peace. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience at a veterinary clinic. They were professional and because this is a teaching clinic, they explained each step in detail which made it easier to make a final decision when it was time. After finding out the mass had metastasized, we were met with deep compassion. At one point, the attending vet cried with us. They packed a to go baggy for her with her medicine, also with wet food for her last few days, and even drew a heart by her name. They seemed to truly care about our case which made the grieving process easier to come to. Overall, I highly recommend OSU and am thankful I was able to take my Juno here.

Let me start out by saying I have never ever written anything like this before about a place. But I felt ,people should really know how there pet could be not taken care of at OSUVMC. Our dog Bandit was hurt bad for sure and needed help. We took him to OSUVMC thinking he would get the best of care. We trusted what we were being told. I can tell you these people can not be trusted, When we got there the people that took him in from our car were great. But after that we felt like they just did not give him the help he needed . With what they told us was wrong with him he should we feel he should have been taken into surgery right then. Instead he laid there for 24 hours waiting and getting worst . We had to call and plead to get them to do surgery. By the time they got him in is was to late. The one thing that I will always remember about OSUVMC that they were always making sure they were going to get paid, Sorry to say they seemed more concerned about payment than our Bandit. Bandit was in there care for around 28 hours and they charged us around $5000. Every time they asked for more money we said yes whatever it takes just take care of Bandit. So this all being said I would not take my pet there for a emergency find someplace else if possible. Take them to a place you can Trust and that is not The Ohio State University Veterinary Medical Center. Knowing what we know now had we gotten Bandit to a place that would have taken care of his needs most likely he would still be with us. Ron Kanouse South Webster Ohio

I cannot express how amazing this place is! We moved from Texas, and they treated our Australian Shepard that was having some difficulties. They are very professional, kind, and affordable! So glad we came to this facility.

Very impressed with the professional staff and care they gave our dog Harrison. He had a case of hemorrhagic gastroenteritis. Two days in hospital and he turned the corner back towards normal. We are lucky to have such a great animal hospital nearby. If I could make them my primary care provider, I probably would!

If you really love your animal I wouldnt take them here. I took my 3 yr old female boxer in for a c-section and that seemed to actually go good. We took her home that same night and all she did was sleep. When we got up in the morning her stomach gauze was hanging off and I looked at her stitchs and theyre were two small gaps in the stitching. I was hoping It wouldn't be a problem. Exactly one week After her surgery, her stitchs started poping open on our Veterinarians table in front of our normal Vet. When our Vet called Ohio State University Veterinary Medical Center She was told that it was our fault. Our normal Vet went ahead and redid the stitchs and realized they used a tiny Continuous stitch on our 90 pound boxer So that if one stitch popped it unraveled the whole thing. She used individual stitchs of a bigger gauge and saved our girls life. Thank God for Dr. Vicki Zunic of Springfield Ohio

We've had some pretty bad luck with the health of our animals--somewhat rare illnesses, emergency situations, and a dog who had cancer at a young age. But we had great luck with their care at OSU. Not only did they diagnose issues that our vet couldn't figure out--quickly--they provided excellent care and on more than one occasion saved out pets' life.

My dog had been shot they were more concerned about the financial ability of me being able to pay then they was for the care of my dying best friend and I would have gave all I had at that moment that they could have saved my animal's life from the time I got there the whole issue was if I could give them $3,000 up front first it was $500 I came up with the 500 then it was could I give them $3,000 the whole time my dog was laid on a journey dying very very heart shattering day for me I should sue these people had $3,000 cash up front they would have worked on my animal if I had $300 cash they w

I unfortunately am not pleased with my little experience with Ohio State Vet. I had heard mixed reviews but decided to try. I had a two month old German shepherd that I had just brought home knowing that he had a grade four heart murmur but I wanted to give him a good chance. After bringing our boy home, we reached out to OSU Vet where they deemed him not an emergency, even though I complained of his massive bloating, difficulty breathing, pale gums and lack of energy. They suggested that I make an appointment for the next available… October. Five months later. After expressing my concern with waiting that long seeing as how intense his murmur was, I was told “that’s what I can do.” Two days later, he collapsed. My partner gave him CPR and we rushed him to the closest vet where they weren’t able to revive him. If they would have taken me seriously, he may still be here with us. Then today after they called to confirm my appointment, I told them my issues and why I was cancelling it, my only response was “sorry.” Only a sorry for me expressing my concern with their lack of professionalism and service? Do better so that this doesn’t happen again.

Our cat, Salem was very sick when we first brought him into the Dublin OSU Vet Urgent Care. They were able to stabilize him. However, we were informed that he may need further treatment and possibly need to be hospitalized. The next day, he became worse. We decided to skip Urgent Care and took him down to the vet hospital. We were informed that Salem had a high probably of cancer. Due to his age we chose to not do a biopsy of his intestine. He stayed overnight and was stabilized. It also gave us time to decide if we should euthanize our precious cat. With the care and support Salem received from Dr. Yaxley, we were able to take him home. Salem perked up and showed us he still had lots of life left in him. Salem is doing well. He has gained weight. He is eating, grooming and moving around. He has his routine back and he let's us know when it's time to eat. --very vocal. Thank you, Dr Yaxley, Dr.Wallinger, and their Teams for saving my cat and giving us more time with him.

Our victorian bulldog was hit by a car. We took him to osu vet emergency on campus. Where he had to be put on a ventilator. He was there shy of 7 days. Dr. Bruchette and Dr. Finstad plus the team saved our baby. He is home now resting with a lot of recovery to be had. I dont have the words to describe how grateful we are because in the beginning we didn't think he was going to make it.

It's the best care. They're the best.. Like human grade care for your pets. Having them save 2 dogs over the years with unrelated issues the quality of care each time was just out of this world.. After trusting one local vet to do a hernia repair on my German Shepherd, and botching it to the point he had to be put to sleep I will be having OSU do any/all surgeries for here on out.

I would give them 10 stars if I could. I called 7 veterinarians around me to find emergency help for my goat. OSU was the only place that would take her. Everyone I spoke to was very friendly and knowledgeable. These guys will be my first choice from now on!

I took my cat to OSU ER vet due to her seeming to be constipated for days and her hind legs not working well. I paid the $300 ER fee at around 10:30 am. Everyone had to wait outside. Finally the Vet called saying pretty much nothing.Bloodwork would be done. X-rays. I asked about her legs Vet said "she is walking around her cage". After 4 hours Vet said she is fine and just follow up with regular Vet. Well my cat was NOT fine. I paid $745 at OSU ER and had my cat wait for 4 hours frightened in a cage for nothing. This Vet asked about getting an ultrasound done instead of X-rays. I said no. Turns out I Googled it and found out what was happening with my cat. I will not take my cat or dog to OSU ER. They are all about the money. My cat, thanks to me, is now back to her wonderful self.

OSU Veterinary Medical Center's emergency room is second to none, and I'm so fortunate to have a top-notch facility such as this one so close to me. Late one evening we had to bring in our sweet kitty, Ally, who was having an attack as a result of congestive heart failure and he was struggling to breathe. We rushed him to the ER and they took him in right away and began working on him, getting him supplemental oxygen, running tests, and contacting cardiology. They didn't have their cardiology team on site at the time, because of how late in the day it was, but they came in right away as soon as they got the news of Ally's condition and told us that Ally was a good candidate for congestive heart failure treatment and that he should stay there overnight for the treatment, testing, and observation. Dr. Stavri and cardiology's 4th year veterinary student, Rachel Johnson, worked hard on Ally all night and all the next day, helping stabilize him and making sure he was responding well to treatment. They also kept my husband and I updated throughout the entire time Ally was in their care. Dr. Stavri and Rachel got our boy in a better spot and he was able to come home with us after one night's stay. Thanks to them and their team, we now have some more time to spend with our gentle boy, and I'm treasuring every moment of that time! Thank you so much, Dr. Stavri and Rachel!! We are forever grateful to you for helping us through the scariest night of our lives and giving Ally the best care so he could come back home.

I don’t normally leave reviews but they are top notch! We took our dog to the urgent care first for OSU in Dublin and they were swift about getting her back and checked out. They had already started the process of getting her transferred to the main campus to be hospitalized. Dr. Finstad at the main campus was phenomenal!! They called us multiple times a day with updates on our baby girl, as well as spending time on the phone with me explaining everything from start to finish! She answered all my questions even ones that weren’t relevant to the situation. I highly recommend this team when your pet is in need! They are phenomenal!

I had to take my dog Maia to OSU vet hospital for emergency surgery. I had previously went to my normal vet and they weren’t able to figure out what was going on with her. After her symptoms progressively worsened I knew that she needed to be seen right away. OSU got her in as soon as possible and took care of my dog better then any vet I’ve ever worked with! They called and kept updating us on her condition, how she was feeling, and even kept her for a few days just to ensure that she was back in the best health before returning her home. I am so grateful for all of the hard work that they did to make Maia better. Maia is as happy as can be and it’s all because of OSU. We can’t thank you enough for helping our little girl!

Our dog was diagnosed with renal dysplasia and of course was experiencing her worst days and pain on a holiday weekend. OSU was able to get us in and was so kind to us and our dog during the difficult decision to put her down. We got to spend as much time as we wanted with her, they made her extremely comfortable and made sure we knew exactly what was happening. Thank you to all the staff we came in contact with that day-you're kindness meant a lot to us.

An ER hospital visit costs an arm and a leg, whether or not they fix your animals problem. To me it seemed as if they have a bunch of OSU vet students and residents running the show over there who don’t have the knowledge or experience to do so yet. Not trying to be rude or mean but that’s about how my experience went.

Dr. Carmen was amazing in helping us decide what to with Rex. She was through in his care and in explaining tests, results and treatment. Unfortunately we were unable to save Rex and she was very compassionate when we made the decision to end his suffering. I appreciate her honesty and compassion.

Called about 30 times over the span of 2 days in an attempt to get scheduled with the oncology department (multiple myeloma). There’s only one receptionist for the entire department. Even when called during their normal hours, they never picked up the phone - not even once. Did not return my voicemails as well. My vet called them as well & still no answer. I understand this is a big hospital & we're in a middle of a pandemic but this is quite concerning. I ended up taking my dog to M****t in Worthington and they got back to me AND had me scheduled the same day. I had heard good things about OSU vet clinic but after this I am not sure if I will ever come back or recommend it to others.

I recently took my horse Temp to OSU Equine Hospital for a fractured tooth extraction with Dr. Chiero. I was blown away by her professionalism, attention to detail, kindness, and expertise! In fact the entire OSU staff was outstanding, from the wonderful girls in the office to the very special students that were involved in Temp’s care! I believe the students names were Lisa and Arthur…they are going to be two great equine professionals, they’re learning from the best!! Temp is beyond “just” a horse to me, he is my partner and friend, Dr Chiero and her team were reassuring and kept me informed throughout the entire procedure, that meant a lot to me! Temp was very well cared for and was kept comfortable before, during, and after his surgery, along with clear and concise after care instructions. I highly recommend this facility! If distance is an issue, it’s worth the drive!!! Thank you again everyone! Jackie and Temp

We just had our dog Jess here for ACL Surgery. We could not be happier with the care she received. We were sent home with clear directions and she is resting so peacefully now. Thank you for looking after Jess and for your very responsive nature. We very much appreciate it.

This is actually my first time ever writing a review but I am very impressed & thankful for the OSU vet med center this weekend. I had to bring in my cat on the 4th of July & all the staff was so kind, helpful, & understanding. You would have never known that they were stuck there on a holiday because every one was so great & positive. It felt like they truly wanted what was best for my cat & gave me regular updates. Dr. Bowden called me this evening just to check in on him the day-after which I feel was beyond what they needed to do, especially since it’s not his primary care. Thank you for what you guys do!!

My dog had a UTI so I called to have her urine tested and they said, “Well we will have to do a full checkup since you haven’t been here in a little while. You’ll have to drop her off.” This place is such a money grab. I went to the Vet closer to my home, tested her urine, got the meds, and now she’s UTI free. Never coming to this place again. Also don’t buy medicated shampoo or flea and tick meds from here. Get them off Chewy. You’ll save SO much money.

I have a girl dog who was in labor and at 9:30 she stopped pushing as much and having a hard time. I knew she was not able to have the puppies. They said they will not do a c section unless the puppies and mom was in distress and it cost 250.00 for every test to see if the puppies was. What a joke. The so called Dr said we will wait 2 hours to see if she has them and she didn't so I called again and then that's when she told me they have to be in distress. We'll thankfully I found a vet that did the check and said she needed a c-section. She had one big puppy and she would had never had it on her own. Mom and puppy are doing good. No thanks to these uncaring people. She wait 6 hours in the parking lot waiting on OSU to do something.

You’re obviously not having a good day when you need to go to a vet hospital.... but if you have to go to one, they will take care of your pet and take care of them well. The staff was friendly, the vet students were great, and the Drs were informative.

Our dog was having some issues going up stairs and we thought it was from his previous knee surgery until one morning he couldn’t even walk or stand up without screaming in pain. We took him here at 6pm and left at 11:15. $300 later, they gave him pain medication (not even enough to last the duration of their recommended cage plan) and told us they think he has Intervertebral Disk Disease and to keep him in his crate for 4-6 weeks and if that doesn’t fix him, then call and they’ll refer us to neurology. They did blood work to check his liver to make sure he could tolerate the pain medication and that’s it. He literally can’t even stand up but they did no further testing, no X-rays, radiographs; didn’t explain how we should care for him, how to help him use the bathroom, how to carry him or move him around. Nothing. Just pain meds and lock him in a crate for over a month? I understand the reason for the bed rest but for an emergency visit, not receiving any information on the disease they diagnosed him with or how to care for him when he’s not practically paralyzed and waiting 5 hours just for pain meds, kind of ridiculous. Mind you, we waited in the emergency drop off lane for 45 minutes AFTER we paid and they called and told us he was ready to leave. We just sat there for nearly an hour just for them to bring him out to us. Thank god for YouTube because otherwise, we would have been screwed. The only reason I put 3 stars is because when we dropped him off, they told us they wouldn’t even seen him for under $300 (just for the visit) but we ended up paying just a little under that amount including the meds. *edit* moving to 1 star. This is crazy. I just waited on hold to speak to someone about how tf I’m supposed to help my dog use the bathroom who can’t even stand up without screaming in pain! I feel like this is a pretty important bit of information needed to send a family home with when he leaves your hospital unable to walk or stand. I was on hold for almost an hour and within a couple of seconds of finally getting to talk to someone, the phone disconnected!!
