Shaker Square Animal Hospital Cleveland, Ohio

Our experience with this vet clinic has been absolutely terrible. After a $500 dollar neuter procedure, our dog has been experiencing longer than usual pain and swelling. We have been following post procedure requirements, and our poor puppy is suffering. After calling, we were denied a quick follow up visit. We requested any help and advice, and were given a short no. No help at all. This is the worst service I have ever received in any industry. I highly recommend bringing your animals elsewhere. We have been working with this vet for years, we are far from demanding, and this is the quality of service we receive. Bs! I hope this helps make your decision. Update after owners response Post procedure we followed every recommendation, exactly as stated. I have no idea where this rubber donut idea comes from, but okay. It is an insult to state that we didn’t follow your instruction on taking our dog to an emergency clinic, when we called every single location within a few hours drive. They were a full and not accepting new patients. We simply wanted a 5 minute conversation, but I guess you guys couldn’t even offer that. This response by the owner is completely unprofessional as well. I guess they’ll do anything to protect a reputation. Do what you want to do, but this response from an establishment should be the biggest red flag of them all.

I couldn’t give a higher recommendation to Shaker Square Animal Hospital. As an owner of a dog who can have handling issues and has a tendency to be a bit dramatic, I was so thankful for how caring and understanding the whole team was at SSAH. They were so sweet to Remy and did so great with him every time we brought him in! They were very responsive to questions or concerns I would call with, and their pricing was really great too. We moved recently and our new vet has big shoes to fill! Thank you Dr. Kim and team for all you did for us while we lived in the area!

I'm really please to take my puppy to Shaker Square Animal Hospital. It's very clean and welcoming.His doctor is very kind, and caring.The staff is very caring as well always handling my little guy with tender loving care. I'm a new doggy mom and they always answer my questions and concerns.????

They took great care of my Pit G, and it didnt cost a arm and leg they called the day after to make sure he was ok after a rabies shot

I added a new puppy to the family recently and started taking him there, Dr. Kim and staff are great. I was so pleased that I transferred my other two dog's care there as well. I am a big fan of Dr. Kim's more natural/homeopathic approach to care. The location is excellent for us as well. I strongly recommend.

Went for a visit which was fine. Then i called because my dog was having an issue and they kept hanging up on me and never called back, even left messages. Guess I'll find another vet since they obviously had no interest in helping me and my sweet baby.

This place is a terrible business. My girlfriend’s healthy 12 year old dog was seen by Dr. Kim and his staff for an appointment and was deemed healthy. 2-3 weeks later we made an appointment for a tooth cleaning and extraction, labs were drawn and everything was deemed normal. Lou was placed under anesthesia where everything went well and he had his teeth extracted. Once he emerged from anesthesia, he coded and passed away after multiple attempts at resuscitation. Understandably, he was old and anesthesia comes with significant risks. However, the staff was extremely terrible in their bedside manner and compassion after all was said and done, and came into the room on 3 separate occasions to ask for payment while she grieved.. Staff members told my girlfriend “this upsets us too” and “we treat our patients like they are our own” rather than providing her with even marginal comfort. In addition, she was told that they were “nice enough” to not have to pay for the extraction after essentially providing euthanasia services. Honestly, extremely disappointing and shameful. Disgusting. If this were human medicine this facility would be under scrutiny for malpractice.

It was my first time bring my dog to see a doctor and they made him feel just like family. Even his first shot was easy.

Don't over charge, love animals, very friendly, great experience.

I started going here off a recommendation from a speciality veterinary surgeon. The staff are awesome and great with my dog who can be rather clingy/skittish. They do visits just to get your dog used to their clinic. I have never had a bad …

My cat Payne passed away 2 days ago. Not on word from the vet. I was told he would call yesterday. He didn't. I feel they never took his condition seriously. I guess no call shows what they thought of my cat and me. They ran a test and found something odd. I called aleast 3 times trying to see what to do. The person said they would call back and never did. Eventually he got a steroid shot. Weeks later he became ill and I called and was told to bring him in tomorrow. Dr. Kim wasn't even in the next day how was he to be seen by him? He died that night. While I was saying my last good bye and standing by him they collected the fee for his cremation. They were concerned that I didn't blame them. No real concerned about his passing. Some of the techs are very very kind. One not so much. I guess when see death often you become desensitized. I have heard wonderful things about Dr. Kim but not hearing from him after my cats death was unacceptable and frankly hurtful.

Dr. Nam Kim and all his assistants/technicians are awesome. My cat had dental work done and he did an excellent job he explained everything clearly so I could understand and he is a very honest man. I highly recommend this animal hospital. The hospital was clean, neat and updated and his prices beat everyone else’s this is now one of my vets. Can’t say enough HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

My sister took her otherwise healthy dog for a dental cleaning. Two hours later she received a call that her dog was dead. After this horrible experience of losing her best friend, the only thing Dr. Kim had to say was "we're sorry, you signed an anesthesia and CPR consent form, we don't know what happened, and you have to pay for the dental service." Yes, he had the nerve to still CHARGE for the service that killed our poor dog! Dr. Kim actually said he would not let my sister leave the clinic without handing over a credit card. DO NOT trust your best friend to a practice that prioritizes business over compassion and patient care, because if your are in that small percentage of complications, you will be shows ZERO care at all.

This is a clean facility with compassionate and knowledgeable people. They came highly recommended, displayed great patience with my difficult rescue dog, and have reasonably priced services. Dr. Kim and staff are great!

I'm a new pet owner. The doctor was very helpful and gave lots of helpful information.

It was ok. Maybe a little on the expensive side for insurance plans, but its close by and I felt the personal treatment my doggie would get. Might pay the extra.

Dr. Kim was great with my dog. She was relaxed and comfortable. The office was clean, well organized and the staff was friendly and helpful.
