Chillicothe Animal Clinic Chillicothe, Ohio

I moved to Ohio last June and obviously needed to find a good Vet. Chillicothe Animal Clinic has now cared for both my 11 year old Min Pin and our 6 month old rescue Lab/Rott mix. Lucy the minpin received her shots and an exam, and Amber the 6 month old puppy was spayed and chipped after her exam. The pricing was reasonable (for a Vet), and the care was excellent. Amber's doing well after her surgery, which was very well done. This Vet group definitely has my whole hearted recommendation!

I have been bringing my dogs to see Dr Pickleheimer and Dr Petzel , for over 4 years now since I moved here in Chillicothe .Both doctors has always been kind ,careing , and given the best care for my dogs.The staff also has been very greeting and always called me back if I had concerns or questions.Everyone that I came across at the Chillicothe Animal Clinic has been wonderful and careing.I wouldnt take my animals anywhere else!

I have brought my dog here twice for emergency visits. They have done wonderful with him both visits and even though this one didn't turn out the way we hoped and he had to be euthanized, they were very thorough, patient and understanding and explained everyt detail and process to us.

I really believe they saved my little 11-year-old Yorkies life. They have an on-site blood analyzer there and ultrasound which is not so typical for a local vet outside of either OSU or MedVet. My little girl was feeling sluggish and things didn't look right so I took her to Chillicothe animal clinic and they were able to get her in on short notice. The doctor ran a complete blood analysis and showed she was in kidney failure and recommended to take her directly to OSU immediately. We raced her up to OSU based on the blood work and luckily they were able to save her. She's 3 weeks out of the hospital at OSU and knock on wood she seems to be doing great given the severity of the situation. Thanks to Chillicothe animal clinic for getting her right in and having the equipment there to analyze the blood immediately or my little girl may not have made it.

Being new to the area, I worried about finding someone to take care of my dog. Have been very pleased with their care, advice and ability to adapt to the changing demands during COVID.

All around a great place! Everyone I speak to on the phone when I call in is very friendly and helpful! Dr. Petzel always takes great care of my German Shepherd, Anala, when we go in for a visit! He is very professional and always makes sure that all of my questions are answered before we leave. Couldn't imagine visiting a different Vet Clinic!

They are money hungry lowlifes who wouldn't see our 5 month old puppy because we didn't have 500 up front and it lead to the death of our dog at 7:20this morning 8/21/21 how can you practice medicine for animals and knowing allow a puppy to die from parvovirus because we only had 300 and that's from selling my car!!!

What a GREAT group of Vets, and staff at Chillicothe Animal Clinic!!! They have ALWAYS taken care of my pets needs in a professional and caring/compassionate manner. They’ve also given me support when my pets were at the end of their lives. I have been affiliated with them since about 1992. I would highly recommend them for a pet’s needs!!!

As You can clearly see I had a appointment Yesterday April 5th, and I was there at 11:30 . when I pulled up and called pushed 2 the girl told me my appointment was tomorrow the 6th, I could have made a mistake, so I left. and this am April 6th. I called and asked If they would take Any Responsibility for there mix up, maybe take a little off my bill, after all I'm 45 minutes away, my morning is shot , waiting for my appointment time. And all they can say is well do you want me to do. Do they not have Managers at this office? I have been going here for a while, and a yearly exam, no less than 300.00 Per Dog. I have been a faithful following of this Veterinarian, never complained. they mess up and wont except responsibility.... time to start looking for a new vet.

Yesterday dr. Picklesimer and her staff state after hours to perform emergency surgery on our cat hope. This was a life-saving surgery. Their dedication is amazing and their professionalism is unheard of in today's society. My family is heartfelt thanks to such a wonderful staff.

I have taken my dog here for years since I have had him, the staff here is friendly and courteous. The CAC also has recently has made COVID appointments easy with well signed and posted directions to follow and a simple process upon arrival. I would highly recommend taking your pets here if you are questioning or looking for great care for your animals.

I volunteer for Pike Pet Pals and have for several years now, Dr. Beth has done SO MUCH for us any time we need vet help! She and her staff are caring and loving to EVERY dog we have ever brought to her. I have also been taking my own personal pets here for the last 15 years or more, they are so amazing that now my grown kids bring all of their pets here!! I can’t say enough about what a kind, caring loving staff here!! Thank you CAC❤️

I have taken my cats and dogs to Chillicothe Animal Clinic for years. They have taken excellent care of all my animals. I have to have a couple of my animals put down due to age and my 1 of my cats due to leukemia and I got the best care and very sympathetic when they gave us the news. Love this place and the workers.

Friendly, kind, take time to address all my needs, patient with my questions, give clear explanations. Excellent care of both myself and my puppy. Highly recommended.

I wouldn't take my pets anywhere else!! Dr. Picklesimer always delivers the best care to my 2 cats and 1 dog with compassion and love like they are her own. I have been in this office for years and the staff is always friendly, helpful, and patient. I would give them 10 stars if I could - highly recommend.

The staff here are all great & make sure that your fur baby is their #1 priority! I would highly recommend taking your pet to this clinic for anything & everything!

Seeing as I worked at this clinic I know from personal experience they have the most knowledgeable and capable team. I choose to bring my animals to them because I know my fur babies will be taken care of!

They did a great job with my dogs neuter, no problems after and it healed up quickly with no issues at all. Also trimmed toenails while he was there.

Took a small stray dog in that had a ‘puncture’ wound in its side. Obviously there was a serious issue and the dog was just not moving much. They took the dog in to check it out and cleaned it all out and got all of the ‘extra critters’ out of the hole and it appeared to have been shot with a pellet gun. They were all so very professional and showed lots of compassion to the little dog - who by the way recovered fully. Hats off to Dr. Picklesimer and her staff that works so hard to help our fury friends.

Our last visit was during the Covid19 protocols. Everything was handled in a most professional and expedient manner. We we impressed by their care and all the steps they made to make sure no one was exposed, including the staff!! Thank you again Dr Petzel and everyone at Chillcothe Animal Clinic for a great visit ! I had to reschedule my dog’s spay due to a personal medical emergency. I found out the next day the office had refused to treat my mother’s cat’s broken leg due to my illness once they arrived at the office, although my illness has absolutely no ties to their situation and my mom tried to explain that to both the vet tech and the vet. They were rude, discriminatory, and ignorant of the situation, completely inappropriate. I am shocked that the office felt it was somehow appropriate to broadcast what little bits of my personal health information they had with other customers- in the human healthcare setting we have something called HIPAA, and while animals aren’t the same I would think I merited basic respect from staff. They sent my mother away with insults; thankfully another office (Dr. Tharp’s) worked her emergency in and was completely understanding and kind. We are switching all of our animals immediately, you cannot put a price on the genuine kindness and respect we received from Dr. Tharp instead.

We always receive the best care for our fur babies here, they are very caring and compassionate, and thorough.. I feel confident that I’m doing the best for my pets taking them to Chillicothe Animal Clinic, for their health care..
