Went there for an emergency and was told there was no emergency vet on staff today. WOW

called this place twice and "spoke" to a woman named Jennifer to ask about setting up an appointment and she hung up on me twice without even telling me that they are an emergency only hospital. The first time I thought the call was disconnected by mistake but when I called back the second time and said I was the same caller as a minute ago she just hung up again!! I called a third time and just said "are you an emergency only hospital or do you take appointments?" to which she responded to but that was so rude and she could've saved us both some time if she just told me straight away the service this place provides. I understand if this place is busy but not answering a simple question?? rude.

My boyfriend and I took our cat here for an emergency visit. All of the night staff was so kind and patient with us, and had the best interest of our cat in mind. Exceptional service and would highly recommend this clinic.

After being turned away at every e-clinic for an emergency, this was the only place that took the time to help me figure out a plan over the phone. Whoever I talked to that night was kind ,restored my sanity after one of the worst nights of my life. They were just as busy but at least they attempted to help me and was nice to me.

We brought our dog in this past weekend because she had ingested a toxic amount of sodium and we were nothing but pleased with how they handled her. They got her in immediately and induced vomiting so they could be sure it didn't harm her, as well as updated us throughout the entire process. We will definitely be coming back here should we ever need another emergency vet visit!

I have a cat that was attacked and has half of her face swollen. The only reason this place isn't getting zero stars (other than that not being possible) is because they agreed to see how bad she was. I went for emergency services on a Sunday and was told there was a three hour wait. I expected to see a waiting room full of people but nothing. The few I did see left with their pets walking out, no cones, nothing. Since this is first come first serve I'm not sure why I was turned away. They said they were full and would not see my cat because she wasn't dying. They acknowledges that she had an infection and was likely in pain but refused to write me a prescription also. They tried saying this was just how things are since Covid, but also mentioned not having a vet in house from 8:00 am Monday - Thursday. I understand if I couldn't have gotten a full visit but knowing my cat needed help and refusing antibiotics when she really needs them was the worst. These people shouldn't be in the business of taking care of animals. No heart.

If I could give a zero rating I would. Called to have my dog looked at for an ear infection was told to be there at 11:30, and when I got there they told me they were at capacity. However they took two dogs in after me who were walk-Ins. They were the worst vet clinic I’ve ever been to, and for an emergency clinic I would think an infection would be an emergency. I wouldn’t recommend them or this doctor. The staff at reception are horrible and uncaring. Totally unprofessional business.

My dog has an emergency I called early this morning and they told me that they could see him today to just give me a call when I’m on my way. I called a couple of hours to let them know that I was on my way in they informed me that would be a four hour wait. They could have said that early in the morning so that I could’ve driven out there early in the morning when I had time

I spend 3 hours in a waiting list to find out in the Vet room that having a 8 month puppy with diarrhea and bleeding all night and morning wasn't a priority in comparison with other dogs cases during that day. Therefore my dog will be skipped, because it was not a severe case. Also the vet tech told me that the dog looked fine. The dog is a golden retriever of course they look fine they are very happy dogs is very hard to tell if they are under pain! I had almost a panic attack when I was on my car because no other places were available. The amount of blood last night was a lot, I even show them pictures. The response was that blood leaks are normal when dogs have diarrhea. They didn’t gave any preventative meds and told me to go home and come on a different less busy day. Very disappointed and will never return to this place.

BLUE PEARL WAS A++++++. WE RECENTLY HAD TO PUT OUR DOG TO SLEEP. WE WILL FOREVER BE GRATEFUL FOR THEIR PROFESSIONALISM AT THE HOSPITAL. THEY WERE SO THOUGHTFUL & UNDERSTANDING THEY DID NOT RUSH US THROUGH ANY OF THE EXCRUCIATING PROCESS. MY HUSBAND AND I WERE SO TOUCHED. THEY EVEN SENT US A SYMPATHY CARD SIGNED BY THE COMPLETE STAFF ALONG WITH BEAUTIFULLY WRAPPED PAW PRINTS. WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND USING THIS HOSPITAL. THANK YOU BLUE PEARL!

NOT 24 HOURS!!! PLEASE CHANGE THE HOURS ON YOUR GOOGLE LISTING! Sign out front says open at 8am. Also, if you're going to refer people in to another 24-hour emergency clinic, please do the humane thing and refer to the next closest place, which is "Emergency Veterinary Hospital" on Jackson Rd 18 minutes away, not just your own chain in Southfield 35 minutes away.

We've brought our dogs here a few times in the past 10 years or so and had positive experiences. We just had to euthanize our 14 year old poodle, Spanky on Saturday. I forgot the vet's name, but she was super compassionate and kind. So was the rest of the staff. They inserted an IV in Spanky to make it easier on him when finding the vein. The whole process took about 5-10 minutes. Our other poodle was put down in October with a clinic in Belleville and it took an agonizing 90 minutes with the staff and vet running back and forth, missing her vein, and not administering enough sedative so she woke up. Spanky was out and didn't feel anything. Thank you.

My 12lb Yorkie mix was stung by a bee in his eye so I called my vet, told them his symptoms: puffy/itchy eye some conjunctivitis, No labored breathing, seizing or vomiting. He was pooping, peeing, sleeping, eating and drinking as normal. The receptionist at my regular vet cut me off and told me to take him to the ER immediately because he could lose his eye. In a panic I called BluePearl to tell them I was on my way and the receptionist got me on the phone with Med Tech Stephanie. I told her the same things (more in a panic now) that I told my vet and she calmed me down, reassured me, and talked me through the necessary steps. None of which even included rushing my dog to the ER. She explained he will get better in a couple days, monitor his symptoms, confirmed a Benadryl dose for me, and like clockwork EVERYTHING Stephanie told me would happen, happened. It’s been 4 days now since the bee sting and my furbaby is back 100%. I couldn’t be more grateful for her kindness, honesty and professionalism. While I hope I never have to rush my pup to the ER, at least I know he’d be in good hands at the BluePearl Ann Arbor. Thanks again, Stephanie!!

My domestic longhair was having some litterbox trouble and seemed extremely uncomfortable she was straining and unable to go. I called vets for an hour before I was recommended BluePearl. The staff is awesome, I brought Austen in and they were just as concerned as I was. She was seen right away I was communicated with the whole time. No tests or treatments were done without my permission and they are very clear on what they are charging you for. The price was super reasonable. You should expect to spend more with emergency care, BluePearl is the place to go in case of an animal emergency!

We are Truly Grateful for the immediate care from BluePearl. A week ago, our 10 year old Pomeranian ate (almost) a whole bag of Dove Dark Chocolate candy. He has EPI and they were very concerned about his pancreas. They were able to get him in immediately and explain everything so easily and the price up front. Our boy is doing fine! He is back to his regular self! Eating, playing and being his normal loving self! THANK YOU!!!

I've taken my cats here over the years for various reasons, sometimes just minor stuff because I work nights and it's hard to schedule a normal vet appointment around work. The people who work here were always kind and understanding, and generally helpful. People seem to complain about the pricing a lot but it's an Emergency Vet clinic, it's going to cost you no matter where you go for a pet emergency. I took a beloved kitty here and ultimately had to put him down, and the staff was so, so wonderful throughout the process. It was a horrible experience that they made a little better because of their kindness. They sent me a card in the mail that a bunch of people signed. It meant a lot. My experiences at this clinic have been positive. Just remember if you cannot afford to pay for pet health care, you cannot afford a pet.

I called on my way in with my dog to let them know we were coming. The person who answered the phone said "well we're very busy. There are two people ahead of you so it will be at least two hours until we can see you". When I told them my dog had eaten a lot of chocolate she said "well we could maybe get him in sooner to make him vomit but it will be a very long time. You could maybe try a different vet". Can you imagine bringing a child to the ER who had ingested a toxic substance and being told they can't see them for hours and you should call around to see if anyone else could see them? The person on the phone then followed up with the vet who confirmed the dog was having an emergency but still said they couldn't treat him for "several hours". I feel like an emergency vet should be able to treat an emergency in a rather emergent fashion. Perhaps Blue Pearl has staffing issues? Definitely wouldn't head in for an actual emergency.

This company is part of a franchise owned by Mars, Inc. (Yes, the corporate candy company). I can't recommend this place to anyone who is concerned about money during a pandemic, when many are hurting. The visit fee alone is $126. I spent $500 total to know nothing thus far about my dog's condition, though thankfully he seems to be improving on his own. They make you wait outside in the cold and separate you from your dog, and will call you and update you on pricing for tests every few hours. The quote will be hundreds of dollars more each time. I couldn't afford to keep having tests added on to my bill. They weren't finding anything, and the vet seemed tired and disinterested in my dog when we spoke. I called a local vet while I waited outside, and they quoted me approximately 1/3 of the price the Ann Arbor Blue Pearl franchise location was quoting me for the same diagnostic. I wish I would have researched before bringing my dog. I understand that when people are worried about their pets, it's extremely easy to inflate prices, especially as a company that's part of a huge corporation. I shouldn't have brought my dog here so I can afford care he might need from a different vet. This has been an expensive and stressful learning experience on what not to do.

Been to this place a few times unfortunately. They can be expensive and the wait time during Covid can be long. Sounds like an ER for humans. But they are open 24-7 and they saw my dog last night when my regular Vet wouldn't for 3 weeks. I don't like going there because it means I have a pet emergency. But I am happy they exist and won't hesitate to return if circumstances require. For those complaining all I can say is this isn't your primary care physician it's the emergency room. Be happy they exist.

The doctor and staff were so very kind, I can't thank them enough for all they did to help my sweet baby, sadly she was too far gone and I had to say good by to my little companion, but I appreciated everyone's concern and felt it was genuine

I will not go back here. Every one was nice until they accused my granddaughter of neglecting her 4 month old dog. She was heartbroken as a first time dog owner, why don't you educate instead of making accusations. You called the police and sent them to her house to see the dog was pure evil. Prices are high and we have a vet now

Don’t take your dog there, my dog was there a week ago for an emergency and now has kennel cough. You’d think with covid regulations that they’d be able to help that but I guess not ???? kinda regret taking him there last week because he wouldn’t have it today if I didn’t!

The team at BluePearl took great care of my pup last night during an emergency. I am so sorry that I don't remember the vet's name but Jennifer and Andy were amazing and helped my shy, scared puppy (and me!) feel relaxed and at peace despite the circumstances. She's all better now and doing great. Thank you for helping Luna and I out!

I apologize for my dogs cutting through the brush into your property. I’ve lived next door for 8 years, for this being the first time. But before you tell me what I can’t or can do on my own property where I live, maybe you should make sure you don’t loose another dog like you did last year, where I found one of your workers on our property the next morning looking for a dog that was kind long gone by that point. I at least allowed to her search on the property, and she never stated that I needed my dogs on leash when she saw them.

Our pal Gus suddenly had a seizure at the age of 17. We brought him to BluePearl, and the vet was able to see him quickly. After his evaluation, the vet carefully explained our options, listened to our concerns, and took the time to answer all our questions. She explained everything clearly and the staff gave us all the prices up front. Eventually, we decided to euthanize him at home, with his family around him. Everyone at BluePearl supported that decision, and they even offered to refer us to a home veterinary service. Everyone was compassionate throughout the visit. I thought the prices were reasonable, too. We brought Gus home, and he died peacefully the next morning, just a couple hours before his scheduled appointment with an at-home vet. He was surrounded by his family. We're very grateful to the staff at BluePearl for taking good care of our pal and for helping us make difficult choices.
