Great place to take my dog Shilo! They fixed him right up!????

We’re new to the area and our dog started limping. We called Southgate in the morning and they were able to get us in same day. The receptionist staff is amazing, so kind and responsive to all of our questions both over the phone and in person. The vet office is very clean and a friendly environment. Sadly we were diagnosed with an ACL injury but Dr. Machtell and the vet tech Brea were so helpful in explaining everything and answering our questions. Could not recommend this vet more!

They were amazing with me when I had my dog. She passed away in an accident 3 years ago, but I vividly remember how much they helped me when dealing with her death. I have a cat now. He is a HUGE jerk to strangers, but they do their absolute best to make sure my little monster is healthy.

I cannot think of anything that would have made my experience better. My kitten, Frankie, was treated so well by the entire staff. My nerves about her first vet visit were quickly calmed by the kindness of the staff. I will definitely recommend Southgate Veterinary Hospital to anyone looking for a place to bring their furry friends!

It's a little expensive compared to a couple others in town, but the staff are absolutely great and very accommodating. They love my dog (who wouldn't) and treat her very well. Cassiopeia LOVES going to the vet, so she must be treated like the queen she thinks she is.

The most caring loving group. Vets are so hard to get into, and even tho they hadn't taken care of my Baxter they got us in!

A very nice local veterinarian. Have had some trouble getting them to work with online pharmacies.

They'll offer to run every test possible and take xrays... But when it comes time to read the tests or xrays they have to "send it off to a specialist" for an extra charge of course, as if they don't know what the hell they're doing. Some of the techs are great, but constantly being given the run around about results and essentially being treated like a bad pet owner by some techs is a major problem. I will be finding a place that can do everything internally and stop wasting my time and money. The reason I bring my pet in is because I want answers, and they can't give them, if I knew where they send the results I'd just go there and get my answers. Oh and check your bill, I've been charged for things I said I didn't want.

They are such a caring team at Southpointe. When I had to say good bye to my best friend, Quincy, I couldn't have asked for any better staff to help me with the final moments I spent with him. I can't stress enough how important it is to bring your fur babies in. What started with ? conjunctivitis in his eyes and to be told it's brain cancer, it's such a shock to think he won't be coming home and you could tell the staff could feel your pain. Great place and I would highly recommend.

My little Teddy has been going here for years. The staff is very nice & very compassionate. This unfortunate visit we had a diagnosis of torn ACLs but the staff took such great care of my fur child, and truly treated us like family. They are only doing curbside now, so you come park and call the front office and they pick up the animal from your car, and bring them back out when done. Payment is done over the phone. Hands down my favorite vet in town.

We’ve brought our dogs to Southgate Vet for 14 years. Dr. Machtell and his staff are kind, caring, and thorough. I feel like they know our dogs and genuinely care about them.

All my pets have gone to Southgate. I just recently got a puppy who hasn't had any vaccines and they tried their best to get her in as quickly as possible.

I'm completely impressed! I took my cat in as an emergency case. He was seen quickly, examined thoroughly, and I was repeated updated and reassured about his condition. He came home with meds and clear written instructions on his continued care. I received two or three followup calls to monitor his recovery. Everyone there was professional and attentive. I've already recommended them to friends.

They project compassion and provide service in an efficient and comprehensive manner. I'm so happy I found this place.

Southgate vet takes really good care of my do Snoop. He has been a patient with them for about 2 years now. Definitely would recommend them for your pet. Snoop knows where he's going and doesn't mind going!

Took my cat here to he spayed, all the employees were friendly, patient. Chloe came home the same day and her recovery has been great, clearly they did a good job and took great care with her. ????????

Great place. They treat are pets like they matter.

We went to Southgate for many years, but switched recently. The vets are good, vet techs are wonderful, but the front desk people are rude. You're bothering them when you call to make an appointment and they don't acknowledge your exist when you walk in. The medication is double the amount it is online and the vet didn't want to write me an RX so I could order it. Not worth my frustration. Gladly driving an extra 10 minutes to a friendly clinic.

Very kind and efficient staff. Their prices are very reasonable but I love that they take CareCredit so when I had an emergency care needed for my cat I didn't have to worry about paying it all right away. The quality of care for my cat has been phenomenal. They answered all my questions, and they understand that not all cats are the same.

When we had to put our pet down southgate met us with love and compassion. Even during covid we were impressed with the process and how they followed up with us afterwards. They truly understand the heartbreak that comes from losing a pet. Although our story is sad, the staff at southgate were amazing.

Amazing place to take your pets. The staff are all very friendly and it is obvious how much they care about every animal and pet owner that comes in. I’ve never had a bad experience here and have been going for years and years with multiple pets, they even seem to somehow remember each pet every time we come in. Overall I HIGHLY RECOMMEND anyone to take their pets here. Reasonable prices for OUTSTANDING care. 10/10.
