WOW!!! So impressed with the staff. Very refreshing to see a veterinarian that finds solutions.

I originally took my dog here for a second opinion for some dental issues. They did the dental surgery and quickly became our primary vet. The doctor called me twice-during and immediately after the procedure-to give me updates and reassure me (knowing we had a bad experience at the previous vet with a dental cleaning). The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The facilities are very nice and clean. We’ve primary seen Dr. Rocky, but all the vets and staff are excellent. They go above and beyond and have exceeded my expectations in every way. I’m paying about 20% more than I was at the previous vet and it’s well worth the extra cost to know my dog is in the best hands.

Very accommodating and professional staff

They couldn't get the bloodwork done that I needed them to do. They said my cat was too aggressive. (He is the calmest cat I have ever seen and gets two shots a day at home with no problem. He doesn't even acknowledge he is getting a shot) I know a blood test is different but he has had this test done a few times at other vets. They tried to sell me EVERY TEST UNDER THE SUN. One of them my old vet said cost a lot and was a last resort. When the woman brought my cat to me she was holding the carrier tilted SIDEWAYS. He was never so terrified. Being that I am new to the area I will continue to look for a new vet. They said he might be scared of the dogs there..... he lives with dogs! All but one person there were very friendly.

First time going to this vet, and I was not disappointed! Terina was happy to help us schedule a same day appointment for our dog Opie. She was so kind & didn’t make it seem like burden (like most vets in Winston when you call for a same day appointment). Dr. Rocky Oakes took his time to explain what was going on with our dog. He stayed 30 minutes after closing to help me out & answer all my questions. He didn’t make me feel rushed, which I love. Not to mention their prices are so reasonable! Quality service & pricing. We will definitely be making this place our regular vet. Can’t wait to bring our cat.

Only concerned about my cats weight, not about his illness. Did nothing at all, waste of money. My cat has an infection that was not treated.

I brought both my cats here and now I bring both of my dogs. I absolutely love the staff and feel so comfortable here. They are extremely informative and their prices are very competitive!

They are very prompt, clean, and kind. They are helping my geriatric cat feel better, and he obviously appreciates it!

I own a dog care company and I always enjoy my visits here, so much so I moved our pets here. Great bedside manner, they walk you through all of your information after visits and help you make sure you're pet is happy as can be.

We started our new puppy here during the pandemic and we were so afraid that he'd never be comfortable going to the vet, or we'd have to do so much extra work because we couldn't go back with him. It's the opposite problem now! He loves to see the vet techs, he is happy to hop in the car when we tell him we are going to see the doctor. They've been so kind and understanding to us as new pet parents. It's amazing watching all the dogs and the techs interact, it's like there is magic happy juice in that building! We love this office so much!

I love this vet and his employees. I have a dog that bites and is very hard to handle. He actually bite me out in the parking lot and the vet had to come out and help me get a muzzle on him. I was afraid they wouldn't even look at him but he was very patient and we finally got a muzzle on him. I am so glad I chose Oakes to take him to.

I've brought my dog and my cat here for years. It's the only place in Winston I feel comfortable with handling their care. My dog especially, who suffers from severe anxiety, feels absolutely comfortable and safe while she's here, no matter the procedure. The prices are also very reasonable. You're not going to bankrupt yourself here trying to get the best care possible for your pet. Additionally, the staff are all very friendly and kind. Couldn't ask for a better vet! I will be hard pressed to find a better vet after I move!

The service was great and they took the the PPE with their owners by coming out to the car to get the dog.

The service at Oakes Animal Hospital has exceeded my expectations to such an extent, that I'm literally writing my first review ever. My poor little buddy had a pretty bad ear infection on Christmas week, during a pandemic, and Oakes still found a way to squeeze me in. The care they exhibited was evident from the moment I called. No matter who answered the phone, I was always greeted with a cheerful response and true compassion that can actually be heard. Caitlyn and Erin (I'm so sorry for misspellings!) were so incredibly thorough in their responses and provided a knowledge that truly shows they have a thorough understanding of all that they do. The staff, the doctor, everyone, provided nothing less than exceptional service. Thank you so much.

They randomly began to refuse filling an active heartworm preventive prescription for our beagle, despite dispensing the medication previously. The staff member said it was because of COVID-19. Why would you stop filling a prescription due to COVID-19?

The doctors here are fantastic. Very accommodating and very good at what they do. Pricy, but you pay for the better service.

They are very patient with all my questions and make sure all concerns are addressed. Dr. Oakes has even researched questions I had regarding supplements that I was interested in trying for my dog, so he could provide an honest opinion. I have never had such an accommodating vet before. Their prices are great and they never try to overcharge or upsale on items or services. So glad I switched to them!
