If this place could be given a negative star rating that's what I would have given. I took my cat twice within 3 days to this office. The vet misdiagnosed my cat and when I went for a second opinion I was told with a physical exam and one xray that my cat had to be put to sleep due to he was bleeding out internally due to a tumor. North College Road Animal Hospital never did more than blood work and stated he had pancreatitis and constipation. Not to mention I spent close to $300 with them to then have to pay over $300 with a professional vet to find out the truth and lose our family member. NORTH COLLEGE ROAD ANIMAL HOSPITAL WILL KILL YOUR PET. DO NOT take any animal there. Biggest mistake I ever made. To the Vet's response, her diagnosis was not supported due to she never mentioned a tumor. She could have easily performed a x-ray herself, but instead sold me expensive food to stuff down his throat when his stomach was pushed into his throat due to blood. This vet is neglectful no matter what she states. If anyone would like to know the truth I have her paperwork and the other vets paperwork and she NEVER once stated there was a tumor bleeding out in his abdominal area. Thank you for showing your concern as well for animals by your response. Hope others look at this as well.

Due to Covid my normal Vet had to close. So this past weekend I had to work and my husband heard about N. College Rd. Animal hospital and took our dog there to get a check up because she’s been having a lot of health issues lately. After I came home that afternoon my husband gave me a list of medications and dog food that was recommended by the veterinarian. After doing some research I found the same dog food for a little bit cheaper on Chewy & ordered it. Apparently it needed a prescription to go through so my husband contacted the vet. They were close that Sunday so today Monday He contacted them Told them that we found the same dog food for a little bit cheaper price on chewy and needed a prescription for it. The Vet refused to send us a prescription and said that they do not like that site. The vet took it upon themself to call up chewy to my account and cancel my order without even talking to me. I personally feel like my privacy has been invaded. I called up chewy and they were upset because they were informed that the vet had talk to me to cancel the order but I have never talked To anyone at that vet before. I called up the vet and ask them why would they go and cancel something without even talking to me. I was then notified by the receptionist that they put my husband as the primary on the account. I know that’s BS because they would have to know my name to Cancel the order because it was my account and I know my husband told them that I was the primary for the animals not him. He also informed the vet to contact me. That did not make sense to me because it was my chewy account not his anyways and to cancel the order they would have to give them my name! I asked to speak to a manager or someone in charge. Instead the same receptionist got on the phone again and was being coached by someone else in the back because no one wanted to talk to me ( I know they were being coached because I heard them in the background and the Receptionist was repeating everything they were saying) . I never got an answer why they pretended to talk to me to cancel that order. My privacy has completely been invaded and they will not give me a reason why. Please do not take your animals to this vet! We are most definitely never taking our animals back to this vet again.

Took my bernedoodle doodle to get groomed today knowing he needed shaved but his head/face and tail were fine so I specifically asked to not touch them. Well they left the top of his head shaved his face shaved HALF of his tail and left him completely uneven all over. Im so upset i felt like they had given me a completely different dog. How do you do something the opposite of what your client specifically asked you NOT to do? And then up charge me in the end?! $80 for my dog to look like a three year old got a whole of some clippers... no I’m good!

We went out of town and came back and my boy had a terrible ear infection. The normal vet we go to wasnt able to get us in for days so I gave these guys a call. They were able to get us in 30mins after I called. The staff and doctors were very friendly and very attentive. They didn't try to push anything, like tests or meds on me. They printed everything out before anything was done to go over costs of procedures that could be done and what exactly everything would do. We agreed upon a few things, tests were ran and the doctor came back and explained everything in layman's terms for me. This place is fantastic I will be back without a doubt.

The team at North College Road Animal Hospital always goes above and beyond to help my dog, Brody, when I take him in. He’s terrified of the vet, so they always have extra treats for him and they are always willing to spend a little bit of extra time with him. Highly recommended!

We moved to Castle Hayne and decided to go with this vet. One day our dog was acting kinda lazy and we let them know. They wanted us to bring her in the next day. The very next day she was feeling better but needed shots so we brought her anyway. They insisted that we get tons of medication because of dangerous symptoms. We spent the money and actually forgot to give the medication. Our dog never got sick again and we wasted money....QUICKLY realized they were trying to make a quick buck...we spent $300 for nothing and they were trying to get us to spend more!!! We decided we would keep going there but be defensive with our spending. Our dogs needed grooming and one of our dogs got into a sticky fly trap. My wife called the place and asked if they had room for that day. They said to bring them in and they did. Just for grooming they added on $40 dollars each for an exam and random shots that I know nothing about...had to argue to get that taken off and they finally took the dogs to groom. I called a few minutes before the place closed to check on the dogs and they said they only had time for one of the dogs. I said thats fine, you got the dog with the sticky stuff in the fur right? They said oh no we didnt have time to get to that dog. THE WHOLE REASON WE BROUGHT THEM IN. So now I have to go back home and cut the fur on the dogs belly myself because they couldn't at least have gotten it before he went home. The lack of common sense was so frustrating. I said fine I'll bring him back tomorrow.....I get home and look at the dog's belly that did get groomed and there were cuts all over the place like they attacked her with the clippers. I recommend NOONE bring their animals or their wallet into this place

I would like to respond to the review by Robery Hannaman. I am a animal veterinarian that practices at North College Road Animal Hospital. Our animal hospital cares for family pets during the day from 7:30am until 5:30pm Monday through Friday and on Saturday 7:30am-Noon. According to Robery, he stated that he heard animal noises coming from our hospital. This was not our animal hospital. We have indoor facilities for dogs and cats. We hand walk our patients. We do not have outdoor runs or play yards.

A tiny abandoned kitten appeared in our yard about a week before that last hurricane, he was dehydrated and weak, with terrible diarrhea. I needed to get him to a competent, affordable veterinarian close to our home, and decided to give N. College Rd Animal Hospital a try. It was easy to reach the office and set up an appointment. The veterinarian, Dr. Iva Nusbaum , is very knowledgeable, and explained everything she was doing as she examined my new pet. She answered all our questions, calmed my fears, and made fast friends with that little feral kitten I brought in. Her assistant was also quite friendly and helpful. The medication she prescribed worked wonders, and the flea treatment she recommended worked better than anything else I had ever gotten from a veterinarian's office AND it cost less! So, I decided to take my precious 9 year old orange boy cat to Dr Nusbaum too. He has been to several veterinarians due to upper respiratory infections many times each year, since I found him as a kitten. She was the first one who could tell me what was probably causing all his stuffy nose and sneezing, and come up with a treatment for him that is working! I highly recommend Dr. Nusbaum!
