Needed a nice cat boarding facility...I was very pleased with their cat setup ...2 level with plenty of room and a full window. Some places just have one square cage like a shelter and nothing for them to see other than the room they're in. The atmosphere at this place was good, it seemed they had control of everything. The woman I spoke with was very patient as I had to call a couple of times to plan everything. We would definitely use them again.

Rufus slept all the way home. Guess they kept him busy.

My freind has work here and has been physically abused by the owner with scars, this dog jail has an impersonal demeanor and still has the nearve to drag the dogs that are put under thier care around with a thin cord lead. by all means if you want a skiddish and cage aggressive dog bring it here.

Meadowsweet pet boarding is unassuming and inviting from the outside looking in, but taking a deeper look inside, the establishment is filled with drama, less than compassionate workers, and two owners that can't be bothered with the day to day operation of the facility. Instead they leave the facility to be managed by an inexperienced, obnoxious twenty year old who could not care less about the animals under her care. Aside from the management the majority of the workers are mediocre at best with a few standouts that truly take pride in their work. It only took a few experiences with this place and some conversations with the workers there (past and present) to know that I will never board my dogs here again, and will instead take my business elsewhere to give my dogs the care they deserve.

Our dog is nervous around other dogs and can take a while to warm up to new people outside of our home but she likes the staff at MeadowSweet and I think they like her. The vibe here is calm even with the usual cacophony of barking dogs. I think part of the reason is they don't do "doggie daycare" they focus exclusively on boarding. Never has there been a lost toy or blanket--they even come back clean! I am totally confident that when we're away she is well cared for by the loving staff of MeadowSweet. I won't take her anywhere else.

Great place to board! Large, beautiful property with a kind and reliable staff. My dogs always love coming here and I highly recommend MeadowSweet to anyone looking for a kennel. Best place for your pets in Wilmington!!

I have always had a amazing experience with Meadowsweet! I have absolute trust leaving my dogs with them and know they'll be cared for well! I will always use them when I need my dogs to be boarded.

The staff member that I dealt with was rude to the point of being obnoxious. Her interactions with the dogs I was picking up, 3 rescues, was disturbing. One was unruly and she called him an idiot and was jerking him around on his leash. Then she put him in a crate that was so small he couldn't stand up. I would never board one of my dogs there.

We have taken our dogs to Meadowsweet for over 20 years, and have never had less than 4 dogs at a time, most of them being rescues with minor to major idiosyncrasies. These ladies love my animals as if they were their own- in fact, when we picked up our very elderly lab today Leigh Anna told me he wasn’t eating his food so she had been making him chicken and rice! I love this place!

This place is awesome. The staff always makes us feel like our dog is part of their family.

Wonderful kennel, they care about the animals that stay there & they care about the homeless ones as well! They help out the local rescues!!

My family has been going to MeadowSweet since 1992 with my female dogs Shannon, Sandy and Addie Lu. Over 20 plus years. None of these dogs were ever spayed. Now of them ever had a litter either. About one year ago we made reservations to have our dog Addie Lu boarded while we were going out of town. My wife and daughter (16 yrs old) brought our dog to the kennel. Addie Lu is a small 9lb Yourkie Poo. My wife told the owner/partner Liz that Addie might be in heat. Well Liz then started ridiculing and putting down my wife and daughter, her rants were " why isn't she fixed, what if she has puppies, there is to many unwanted dogs now she said. She should have been spayed. How can you let her not be spayed. etc.. My wife told me later what had happen. My wife told me that my daughter felt so bad that she was in tears. I called Meadowsweet later on and spoke to partner/owner Leigh Anna about what went down. She sided with her partner. She didn't even apologize for what had happened. I told Leigh Ann that I have had dogs my entire life (I'm now 57). I never had a unwanted litter, ever. I feel if I ever want to have pups that's my choice, not yours. I don't believe Liz has any right to tell us our dog should have been spayed. After this sad occurrence we decided after all of these loyal years to find another kennel that allows dogs that aren't spayed and neutered, and we found one right in Wilmington..

Our dog, Hokie, loves to go to MeadowSweet Pet Boarding. We can not get our suit cases out until it is time to take him because he gets so excited to go. He pushes us out of the door to get to the car when I say, "you want to go see your Buddies?" He runs to their door and tries to get to the back as quickly as possible. He is very OCD and likes his food and water bowls in a certain order. They rearranged the plumbing to his cage to make him happy. We feel he gets great care there. He has been going there for 10 years and it has always been a positive experience.

These folks are fantastic! The facilities are well kept & very clean. We had never boarded our boy before & we were worried but these guys were great with him. Meadowsweet will always be our 1st choice for boarding our Vincent.
