SVH is always a caring and loving place to bring your pets. The vets make sure you understand all your options you have for the care of your pet. From the office staff to the techs...you always feel heard. My family have always been pleased with our dogs boarding health care.

My first visit to Salem Veterinary was to have a lymphoma removed from one of my pooches necks. They were so caring and kept me in the loop during the whole process that I decided to stick with them for both of my fur babies. I highly recommend them.

Most friendliest vet ever. We love our vet. The staff love our Cooper. Always leave with treats for Cooper. They are wonderful here and we simply wouldn’t go anywhere else

We had a sick kitty yesterday, and the people at this clinic, and the cat and my wife had a wonderful experience. This place is like an old fashioned neighborhood vet clinic. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Dr. Sheffield and her staff have been fantastic for the five plus years they have cared for our two dogs. She's not only an expert in her field but also spends the time necessary to make sure one fully understands the needs and options for the best care of one's pets. We could not be happier with our experience at Salem Veternary Clinic (Hospital).

Dr. Hunley saved my dog's and my cat's life. She's an excellent veterinarian, and the entire staff is great!!

These ladies are the best. We have been going to them for over 10 years now and they are the best vets for my two cats and other cats over the years. They explain things that I can easily understand and any time my cats got sick they always get my fur babies to feeling better. I love these guys.

I would not recommend bringing your dogs here as the lines of communication between the front desk, doctors, and techs are terrible. They will tell you they have everything under control and then charge you 2x’s what other vets in the area charge. After ending our relationship with them, they sent over a falsified record for us to give to our new vet (which just seems a bit petty). They also refused to answer emails and calls for those records after I expressed wanting to my relationship with them. Go elsewhere. Falsifying records alone is an issue you should be worried about.

If your pet gets sick you better know 30 days in advance or you will not go here very poor that they say they are booked 30 days in advance

I love Salem Vet. For years I brought my beloved English Bulldog, Haus. Dr. Hundley took great care of him and is super friendly and great with people. The gals inside are sweet and all obviously love animals. When Haus developed cancer and had to be put down, they were so compassionate and Dr. Hundley even cried with me when I held him and they injected him. I’ll never forget that she cried with me during that time. I’m not a fan of her partner, Dr. Sheffield, who is clearly not a people person and who’s bedside manner about pushing additional products at high costs and acting like if you don’t buy them you don’t love your animal. After two interactions with her I asked to never see her again. But Dr. H and the sweet gals inside make up for it. They are now taking excellent care of my new puppy, an adorable french bulldog.

They were very friendly to us and they helped us out with our cat we are new in town and looking for a good vet we will be back to them again

The night prior I found this Vet on Google and it was one of the best Vets in the area based on the reviews, as I am new to the area. When I went to their website I was even more impressed that you could drop your pet off on certain days, how convenient! I decided to mosey in to drop my baby off only to find out; “We are booked today. I know our website says that and we are working on getting that updated, sorry.” How disappointing! If your website says one thing you should stick to that until you get it updated.

I have 10 years of Vet tech experience, and I have NEVER turned anyone away or seen anyone be turned away. I am new to the area, a pregnant Military spouse who doesn't have the funds for an emergency vet. I have a 14 year old pup who has been passing blood. I walked into an empty hospital with not one person waiting, 2 hours before closing, and I was turned away. I cannot speak about the Vet's services themselves, as I didn't get that far, but any office who turns pets (in need) away, is not the Vet for me. My pets name is Zena and I came in on the 22nd at 5:45pm. I am in shock that if my pet ever had an emergency(sudden with no time for appointment), way before closing time, that I HAVE no other choice but to go to Emergency. Even with your own Vet you go to regularly. I have worked at many offices all around and I have never seen any of them turn away sick pets. Only here in this State of Virginia. When some clients don't have the funds for Emergency vets. When you have time. And there wasn't one person in the building. It's very hard to understand that policy.

Dr Hundley is the best! She is so knowledgeable and kind! She has taken care of our pets/family members for decades. Thank you Dr Hundley!
