I have taken my pets to Companion Animal Hospital since Dr. Bowman had it. I had great respect and admiration for her and her practice. Since Dr. McCurry stepped in I have continued to take my pets there and he has also shows knowledge and compassion when treating them. I trust any of my pets in the care of Dr. McCurry and the awesome staff at Companion Animal Hospital! I would not take them anywhere else!

I felt very comfortable there. The staff was attentive, even while busy, and straight up front with costs. The vet was so warm and friendly. One of those people you might call warm and fuzzy. I felt very confident they were caring for Tucker and not worried about money first. If we weren't moving next month I would 100% keep this group as our vet family.

These guys are great. They squeezed me in, saw me quickly, and are very fair with their charges. My pets won't go anywhere else!

The vet here is down to earth, honest and does not upsell like other vets in the area. He tells it how it is, what you need only. He is our new go-to.

I would give negative stars but they won’t let me we had to take our cat twice to them we took our cat someone else today and this place knew what was wrong with him and never treated him for it and now today we had to go to another vet and was told he was so bad off we had to put him down not only is the family upset but now a child just lost her buddy her playmate and is devastated how could any vet allow an animal to suffer like that knowing what was wrong I hope you guys burn in hell for what you are putting this child threw right now ????????

We have three dogs - all different ages, breeds and sizes - and have never felt more comfortable than when they have been treated by the team at Iredell Companion Animal Hospital. Totally professional and always reliable. Highly recommend!

Love this place and the staff! I took my 13 year old Corgi mix in for a teeth cleaning and was very apprehensive about having this done at that age, last time I did it (at another vet) she was down for 2 days coming off the anesthesia. They took such great care of her, when I picked her up, she was a little groggy, but within an hour she was her normal feisty self. I would highly recommend Dr M and the entire staff!!

If you love your pet, do not take her to Companion Animal Hospital in Statesville N.C. My cat Zinnia was having some worrisome symptoms and since she is 22 years old I knew she could be approaching end of life. Beside myself with anxiety, I called a vet that a friend had recommended. The lobby was tiny and smelly, and several large dogs were there with owners. I checked in and stood in the corner, my body between the dogs and the cat carrier. The dogs were barking and playing with each other, making a lot of noise. Which is fine, I love dogs. But my cat, who has a heart condition, is terrified of them. After several minutes, a golden retriever discovered my cat and started lunging and barking at her. I politely asked if the owners if they could calm their dogs down a bit as they were scaring Zinnia. They both said oh we’re sorry, no problem. It was a calm, easy exchange and one guy was leaving anyway. He smiled and said sorry again as he left, then the other big dog was taken to a treatment room. The receptionist, who had been unfriendly even over the phone, snapped at me in a harsh voice, “why don’t you take your cat outside?” I said, because it’s 90 degrees out there. “Go sit in your car, then. Don’t you have an air conditioner?” I replied that since it was now quiet I’d prefer to wait in the lobby. Twenty minutes later, Dr. McCurry came into the lobby with a hateful look on his face (his mask on his chin, not over his face) and said to me in a very ugly tone, “I heard what happened here. I’m not going to treat your cat.” At this I started crying. “What? I don’t understand, this is my little angel, I was just trying to protect her. She’s very ill!” He said, “I’m not treating your cat so just LEAVE.” He then exited the lobby. I didn’t know of any other vets because I’m new in town. The horrible receptionist told me there was another one down the road. She rolled her eyes in annoyance when I asked for the number. I went to Animal Hospital of Statesville and what a different world! The lobby was clean, spacious and beautiful. Every person I met with was sweet, kind, helpful and professional. Dr. Cooney was one of the best veterinarians I’ve ever met. He took all the time needed to explain Zinnia’s condition and what our options were. The facility was absolutely top notch, with several well credentialed doctors and specialists on staff, and all the latest equipment and treatments available. They are open 7 days unlike this place. Again, if you love your fur baby do NOT go to Dr. McCurry. He is a mean, awful, uncaring man who runs a dirty, smelly, cramped facility with rude staff. One more thing: Not a single staff person or client wore a mask. I would never entrust my precious sweeties to this hell hole, and neither should you.

Growing Up With Nova

We have been using this vet for many years now and now that its ran an owned by new people after the previous veterinarian/owner passed away its not the same. The lady that runs the front desk not sure of her name but she has red hair and the most unpleasant attitude just makes my visits very unpleasant. She is rude and not respectful at all. Thats not how a front office person should be when dealing with the public. I'd recommend a new front office person to greet and treat people with respect.
