BUYER BEWARE - GET FULL DETAILED PRICING IN WRITING LONG IN ADVANCE (better yet, look elsewhere and price shop yourself). Over the past 6 months I contacted Gentle Care two times regarding dog grooming. I specifically asked pricing. In response I was given various reason why they couldn't give me pricing including that the groomers set their own rates, that it just depends on the services needed, that they don't know the price until the end, ect. But I was also told two times that other customers have said their pricing is below average for the area. I trusted their overall reviews and statements and took our dogs for grooming. Before the grooming started, I was not given anything standard like at other groomers I have gone to such as a price list or a list of what I was agreeing they do. Again I asked how much it would be and was told the same things as above but not told the price. THEIR WEBSITE ALSO HAS A TAB LISTED AS "RATES" BUT DOESN'T GIVE THE INFO. At checkout, we were charged $202 for standard grooming of 2 very small dogs with the only addition we requested being nail grinding. This pricing is way way over nearly 10 other places we know of. In fact we have never heard of a place charging anything close to this, including mobile groomers who charge more for coming to you. Their pricing appears approx. 30 to 50% or more over other places I called and other times we have paid. They also didn't give me a receipt at checkout and even though I asked, I still don't have one yet from them. In the end, they refunded us a total of $46 which they said was due to $23/dog for anal glands (something we never asked for as an add-on service). Every other place we have ever been to includes a groomer (not a vet) doing anal glands as a part of the standard grooming. We will never go back to this place. No receipt, no upfront fee agreement, no fees outlined ever until they demand you pay the bill BEFORE they bring out your animal to you after the grooming is done. Terrible experience. As I look through other reviews, it seems like this is not an isolated issue. Thankfully we didn't switch our vet and happily will remain at Banfield with the super docs and staff at the Stonebridge 10-10 location.

I've taken my dogs to Gentle Care for years, and it's is an amazing hospital with the most caring staff. They're all so sweet and enthusiastic with each pet. Dr Bailey and Dr Gunter have both been really good to my dogs. The vet techs and kennel staff are so knowledgable and friendly. I've moved to the other side of Raleigh and I won't go to any other vet. They're worth the drive.

I take my Labradoodle puppy to Gentle Care for grooming. I have taken him 3 times and they have been courteous and prompt. The groomer was new this time and he seems to be fairly knowledgeable and I was pleased with his grooming my puppy. (My 55lb puppy)

Been taking my dogs here for years. They are very friendly, care about the animals, and always call to give us updates or ask how our dogs are doing after a visit. Loved their social distancing protocols as well during the pandemic! Stay safe!

When we were turned away from another clinic for an emergency visit, Gentle Care quickly took us in on short notice. My employee and I were very frazzled when we arrived, but they handled the situation very professionally and we could immediately tell our dog was in good hands. The whole facility is super clean and beautiful as well!

My old vet couldn't see my dog Bullet. And I saw there sign out front saying accepting new patients. Very pleased with them . Clean , friendly and professional. Dr. Valerie was very knowledgeable, patient and kind. She explained everything in detail and was very thorough.

The staff here is amazing! Everyone is so friendly and helpful. They take care of your pet like it's their own. My dog actually gets excited when I bring him here! I'm so glad that this is my vet and I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Great vets and great service. Have used their veterinary, boarding and grooming services in the past. My pups seem to absolutely love their doctor. So far absolutely no complaints.

Dr. Mallo, Dr. Guntar and the entire team of vet techs at Gentle Care have been our rock during my dog Casper’s lymphoma care. They are so polite at the door, so sweet and patient. This is truly a very special veterinary practice. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for giving Casper and my fiancé and I such amazing care and compassion.

Dr. Bailey treats our dog so well, everything from a copperhead bite to a dental cleaning. Great place!

Gentle care is awesome. We first went during the pandemic and found their accomodations for social distancing excellent. The staff have all been exceptionally friendly and cooperative with our energetic dog. The facilities also seem just a bit nicer than a few other vet offices we have used in the area.

Extremely overpriced! They take advantage of the fact that you come in with a pet that’s sick and charge outrageous prices for the most basic tests. Stay away, you will find better value elsewhere.

They deserved more than 10 star rating, even they charge over the average, for years. Now, I need to get my animals out of this place. I would not suggest anyone send there pets here anymore. Too bad things change.

Dr. Gunter is an amazing vet! However I had my records transferred to a different vet. Practice due to the chaos and lack or organization of the front desk staff. Appointments not documented correctly, being called to come pick up medicine then it’s not ready when I get there, forgetting to do important tasks, giving me the wrong medication than what was requested and the wrong amounts (meaning lots of extra trips to the vet). Even with transferring my records over to a new vet.... the wrong prescription and dosage was sent over wrong. I had to call and get the correct one. The vets, vet techs and the office manager are wonderful people. The inexperienced front desk staff with high turnover creates a lot of cracks that things fall through. It becomes very frustrating when you hear “sorry for the inconvenience” time after time :(. If you have patience for the front desk staff, I highly recommend Dr. Gunter. She is passionate, highly knowledgeable/skillful and takes the time to educate you. It’s a shame the front desk staff remains chaotic.

They took great care of our bullmastiff puppy for her spay snd gastropexy. Staff was kind and informative.

I've been putting off finding a vet for my pet since we moved to Raleigh but I'm so glad I went with Gentle Care. I picked it primarily based on reviews and location but it is a wonderful place to take your fur baby. They made sure I was at ease and the vet techs were so courteous and polite. They really love the animals here. The vet came outside to me personally to discuss the treatment and check up of my pet. After he had a minor oral surgery, the vet personally called my phone two days later to check up on my pet. Thank you Gentle Care. I will be coming back!
