We are so blessed to have found this service. Our dog, Brody, unfortunately had succumbed to cancer and it was time for us to let him go. We wanted someone to come to our home and help him pass peacefully, surrounded by his family, in his own bed. Dr. Abby explained everything, kept everything very relaxed, and helped him pass in such a compassionate and dignified manner. As with many pet parents, we struggled with wondering if we were making the right decision, and Dr Abby helped us realize that this is one of the best ways we can honor his life by helping him pass gently and not in pain. We can't thank you enough for what you have done to help our family.

Dr. Leslie was amazing. She was so patient and let us take all the time we needed. It was a very hard decision to let my baby girl go but Dr. Leslie made the whole process very easy and peaceful. I would highly recommend Azure Holland

Our family had to make the tremendously difficult decision to euthanize our cat of 16 years. Mayer was a cat like no other! We would find people that would say "I'm allergic to cats!" end up with him in their arms before they left our home. He was the best Persian cat you could ever! Dr. Leslie came to our home, talked with us about what to experience, and made this difficult decision as smooth as possible. Afterwards, she lit a candle in his memory - which was unexpected and certainly appreciated. The next week, we received a hand written condolences card that was honest, sympathetic, and memorable. The same week we received a phone call to let us know they were thinking of us and to reach out if we needed anything. This is a service you would not get from a veterinary hospital or clinic. The reasoning for choosing to do this at home was to make Mayer as comfortable as possible and to also help our family will more comfortable being in our safe space. We will always use this team and service in the future! Truly remarkable humans. Thank you all!!

No one wants to think about having to say goodbye to a pet. But sometimes you know it’s the kindest thing you can do for them. When it was apparent that I needed to take that step with my dog, I contacted Azure. I cannot adequately express my gratitude for her. She did everything you don’t even know you need, and everything I requested. She was patient, empathic, responsive, incredibly accommodating coming to our home when it was the best time for our family. She examined our dog and asked a lot of questions about his health, symptoms, behaviors and helped validate that I was making the decision in his best interest. I never felt rushed. She explained everything clearly so that even my son could understand. We had as much our as little time as we wanted through the process. She was also clear about what services she could provide, the cost for her care and what options were available for aftercare so we could make the best decision for our pet and our budget. I have recommended her highly to several of my friends, and would recommend her without reservation to anyone who finds themselves making this emotional decision.

Three weeks ago, we had to put down our cat Hobbes, who was 5 when we adopted him, and lived with us for another 10 years. Due to a combination of cancer and pancreatitis, he had become ill, but it was so gradual that we did not notice it until he started having trouble getting around and had lost his appetite. Our vets at Cozy Cat recommended Dr. Holland, and we could not have been treated any better. Dr. Leslie Sanders came to the house and took her time to answer all our questions and walk us through the process, which was not easy: my spouse and I were both deeply upset. She also took a little time to let Hobbes get to know her a little before we started the procedure. We were able to put him to sleep in one of his favorite spots here in the house, with peace and dignity: what more could any of us want? While we will never have another Hobbes, we will have other furry friends in our lives, and when their time comes, we will certainly call on Dr. Holland's group again. Please accept our most profound thanks and appreciation.

We used Dr. Holland and her services to put down our sweet chocolate lab Riley. Having never used an in home service we didn't know what to expect. As soon as Dr. Holland walked through our door we knew we were in good hands. She was caring, professional, took her time explaining the process, treated us and our pets with the utmost respect and knew when to step outside to give our family a few moments alone. What I also remember is my conversation with Dr. Holland. I asked, through sobbing tears, how she could do in home euthanasia services day in and day out, and her response resonated with me. She said in so many words that she is blessed to be a part of each family as she helps the families give their pet one last gift, the gift of letting go. Our dog was holding on for us through pain because he never wanted to disappoint us. It was our gift to let him go and join his sister on the rainbow bridge all in the comfort of his home surrounded by the people he loved the most. It was so profound at that moment and really helped us heal from our loss. Her compassion and love for animals and families is unmatched.

This past January, we had to make the excruciatingly difficult decision to say goodbye to our sweet 13 year old Shih Tzu, Ruby. She had been previously diagnosed with a collapsing trachea, and after 3 separate visits to the NC State College of Veterinary Medicine’s ICU over a course of 6 months, and with little to no relief from meds, we knew she was struggling and didn’t have the strength to go on. She was rescued as a senior at 8 year old, and to say she had my whole heart is an understatement . When Dr. Holland arrived, she immediately comforted me by reassuring me (after her exam on Ruby), that it was indeed time, and that this was the kindest gift I could give to my sweet girl. The whole process was truly beautiful, calm and peaceful. When Ruby took her last breath, Dr. Holland lit a small votive candle and placed it near her, a small act that meant the world to me. Ruby was not just a pet, but a family member, and Dr. Holland truly understood and respected that. I was so impressed and moved by Dr. Holland’s compassion, and I can honestly say her services helped me heal in a way that would not have been possible had I brought Ruby into a sterile vet clinic. I am forever grateful for Dr. Holland for helping me say goodbye to my precious girl!

My sister was suddenly and unexpectedly faced with a terminal diagnosis for her 3 year old cat. He had been at the emergency vet for a couple of days with no improvement, so she had the tough decision of continuing treatment or allowing him to rest. In case of the latter, I called Azure Holland on a Friday evening. My call was promptly returned on Saturday morning around 8:15am. My sister made the decision to put her cat out of his pain based on an update from the vet around noon that same day, and Dr. Deb was so understanding. We were able to work with Dr. Janelle that afternoon to give her sweet cat a peaceful ending. Dr. Janelle was so kind, very patient, and her communication about each step of the process was clear. I want to thank them both deeply for allowing my sister and her cat some time at home together before he had to leave us.

NOT VACCINATED!!!! I never write negative reviews. But this is important. It was time for our 100lb 14 yo dog to say goodbye. we opted for in-house euthanasia. The vet was very nice, and professional and made our pup was comfortable. However, she showed up, to be in close proximity with our family unmasked. My husband asked if she was vaccinated. She said she was not and we provided a mask for her. Fortunately all of our family members including teens are vaccinated and non of us have compromised health. We had elected to have the event take place in our large outdoor gazebo with a fan. I considered delaying the event. But it would likely have meant that our dog might have suffered. It is also extremely difficult for a family to prepare for this moment and delaying this event would have created additional anguish for my family. I would like to ask this business to please ask grieving people if they are comfortable with an unvaccinated vet in their home, and in close proximity. if a family agrees, that is their decision. But it is just wrong to have someone (especially someone called Dr.) show up unmasked and have to make a decision in that moment. Had the vet been vaccinated, this would be a 5 star review. She was kind and gentle and our boy was comfortable. I truly hope that Azure Holland will change their position about vaccines.

Azure helped us with the difficult experience of saying goodbye to our 20 year old cat. She was calm, supportive and with us every step of the way. There is really no question that it is far better both for the pet and the people to do this at home as opposed to a vet clinic. I would not hesitate to recommend Azure to anyone.

Dr. Janelle made time in her already booked schedule to help us with our senior dog who was rapidly declining. She was professional, kind, understanding and patient. We couldn't have asked for a more empathetic veterinarian during a very difficult time. I am thankful to the entire staff for their care.

Dr. Hannah was compassionate, caring and empathetic. She allowed us to go at our own pace and have as much time as needed to say goodbye. It was heartbreaking to let our beloved pet go. I would highly recommend Dr. Hannah Burns at Azure Holland.

All the words you expect from a someone in this field. Compassionate, caring, sympathetic, and cordial. Azure was excellent and went beyond what I expected. This is, in my belief , the most comfortable way for any pet owner.

Kind and compassionate. She spent time with us and our dog. Listened to our stories and made sure my Lexi was comfortable. No one wants this day to come but with their help it makes the process easier for all. Thank you for this service and for really caring.

Dr. Hannah is such a warm, caring person. She helped us get through a traumatic event by tuning in precisely to our thoughts and emotions. She took all the time required to make sure our old, ailing friend was as relaxed and comfortable as possible. Dr Hannah also was very helpful in advising us how to treat our other dog, who was as upset as we were. I recommend Azure Holland services without any reservation.

We unfortunately had to make the hard decision to send our dog, Roary, over the rainbow bridge due to Osteosarcoma. Due to COVID, out normal vet was not making house visits for this, as he had previously done in the past so he recommended Dr. Azure Hollard to us. Dr. Holland was able to come to our home the same day we reached out to her office and for never meeting her prior, her presence was calm and warming. She made us feel comfortable and did not rush us at all. She allowed for us to take the time we needed to say goodbye. We will forever be grateful for Dr. Azure Hollard for helping us during such a terrible and very vulnerable time.

It is never easy to lose a member of your fur family, but Dr. Fenlason could not have been more kind or professional with putting my cat, Oreo to rest. I enjoyed my initial phone consultation with her and she took the time to answer any and all questions that I had about the euthanasia process. On the day of my appointment, she arrived promptly and the whole process took about an hour or so. It broke my heart to continue to see Oreo suffer, but Dr. Fenlason put my mind at ease and I was glad that I was able to be with her and Oreo as she crossed the Rainbow Bridge. To anyone who cannot emotionally handle a vet's office or a trip to the Wake County Animal Shelter, I would highly recommend Dr. Holland and her amazing team for pet euthanasia services.

About five months ago, after having my beloved dog Copper for 16 1/2 years, I had to make the excruciating decision to put him to sleep. He was blind, deaf, and had a heart condition. These things combined made for a very poor quality of life for my beloved Copper. He no longer seemed to enjoy our walks and could only walk a short distance without getting ill. In short he was just lingering. When I made my peace with the fact that it was his time, I did extensive research on the best options for having Copper put to sleep. I was very encouraged to learn that I could have the procedure done at my home and that a vet could come to my house. After much additional research I settled on Dr. Holland. I am so glad I did. Dr. Holland was exactly what Copper and I needed to get through his transition. From start to finish she was kind, professional, and sincerely sensitive to the pain I was in at losing my best friend. From the time I initially talked to her on the phone through the time the procedure was done, Dr Holland was very patient with me and she answered all of my many questions. She also helped me assess Copper’s quality of life and know beyond any doubt that I was making the right decision. When she came to my house she was loving and gentle with my little 10 pound shih tzu and she gave us all the time that we needed to say goodbye. She also talked me through every step of the procedure before she did it so that I would know what to expect. I was able to hold Copper in my lap as he was put to sleep. I will treasure those last moments forever as my little boy went peacefully on his way to the rainbow bridge. Despite the trauma of the situation, I lost my best friend in the most peaceful and loving way possible and I have Dr Holland to thank for that. If you should ever find yourself in this unfortunate situation, I would HIGHLY recommend her services. She even called me days after the procedure to make sure that I was doing okay.

Deciding that it was time to let my beloved greyhound Pippi go was one of the hardest decisions I've ever made. Having Dr. Holland come to our home was the best choice for the comfort of Pippi as well as ourselves. Dr. Holland explained the process in detail and paid attention to Pippi to get to know her. She gave us several opportunities to say goodbye throughout this very tough ordeal. Dr. Holland was very professional, comforting, respectful and compassionate. I am so grateful to her for helping us through this passage.

If you have to say good-bye to your friend, this is absolutely the best way to do it. We were lucky in that our 16-year-old boy, Roscoe, was not in immediate distress but his age had caught up to him. He was having more bad days than good and it was time. We were able to schedule a week out so that we had time to spend his last days rejoicing his life, spoiling him rotten, and preparing a private, comfortable place in our yard to say good-bye. Dr. Holland's receptionist was patient and understanding on the phone. She let me know the process and took my payment without unnecessary banter or questions. On the day of, Dr. Holland was prompt and communicative on her arrival time. She was respectful but not overly somber which made the experience easier on myself and my husband. She explained everything we was doing, giving us lots of time to love on our boy and say good-bye at our own pace. I never once felt rushed. The process itself was extraordinarily quick and peaceful. We had preplanned to have him cremated so she took his body with her afterwards, again giving us time to say our final farewells at her car before leaving. She gave us all the privacy and respect we could have asked for. As hard as it was, it was such a relief knowing that Roscoe was no longer in any pain and had gone out as peacefully as possible. Thank you Dr. Holland for the work you do. It must be an emotionally taxing career but please know that your clients are extremely appreciative.

I wanted to take a moment to say thank you to Azure Holland for helping us with our over 14 year old black lab. It was so hard making the phone call to make arrangements for our dog Deja Vu, but once we spoke, I knew we would be in good hands. I can’t say enough about Dr. Deb. Her kindness and compassion made what was a very difficult day a little easier. Thank you.

Dr. Holland provided us with compassion, comfort, and piece of mind during McKinley's final moments. Despite all of our worries and fear prior to the process, she elevated those with her calming nature and explantation of the procedure. She provided an invaluable service for our pet and ourselves. Thanks again Dr. Holland!

When our 16 year old cat, Bright, was diagnosed with an aggressive cancer 9 weeks ago, we knew we would probably have a difficult decision to make at some point. Even though we were able to manage for a while, Bright’s pain increased earlier this week. Upon a friend’s recommendation we contacted Azure Holland. After speaking with Dr.Holland, who was so patient and compassionate, we made the decision to end our pet’s suffering. Dr. Janelle came out and to put it plainly, she was a blessing. So understanding. When the end came, it was so peaceful. If anyone out there today has to make the same decision, rest assured they have your pet’s best interest at heart. I highly recommend them. Doctor Janelle added several personal touches to make our grief a bit more bearable as well. These doctors are “Pet people” first, believe me.

After 19 years with my cat, I had to make the very difficult decision to send my Gracey to heaven. The thought of having to say goodbye to her after so long stressing her to go to get to a vets office, amplified by the restrictions of covid-19, broke my heart. Luckily I found Azure Holland who connected me with Janelle Fenlason-Stephenson. I was so relieved to find that Azure Holland provides end of life services in the comfort of your (and your pets) home. Janelle was professional in providing all the details of the process, while still connecting personally through the process. Janelle's warm, loving and understanding nature was exactly what was needed in that moment. Azure Holland gave me the opportunity to say goodbye to Gracey in the most positive way I could under the circumstances. To me they were invaluable. I can't thank Janelle or Azure Holland enough for all of the services they provide. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a peaceful and loving way to say goodbye to your pet.
