I have been coming here for years with all of my pets. They have always had amazing Vets and staff!! Recently, brought my new pet to them and they are still just as amazing as ever!! Very highly recommended!! I would give them 10 stars if I could...

We have been gong to VCA for years for annual check ups, but recently we had to visit because of our dachshund was not acting himself. I called on a Saturday, they were able to fit us that day. The vet tech and Dr. Smith were very kind and explanatory. They could Sailor & I were nervous. There were diligent in examination and strategic with treatment. Best of all, Dr. Smith followed up with a text to personally check on Sailor in a couple days after our visit. It was timely because we added a extra step to the treatment plan. Really appreciated the care attention.

Dr. Smith is very kind and gentle with my dog who gets very nervous at the vet. He really looks at her body language and wants her to feel safe and comfortable. He takes the time to go over things and let's you ask questions. I would highly recommend him!

DR Smith took care of my cat that is 12 and half years old. This cat is very scared of leaving the house but him and his staff took their time with her. He explaind ton.v us in detail everything about the visit, procedure, action plan, and why we should go this route as well as the medicine and why he chose it. Very happy!!

We are new to VCA Portsmouth and we could not be happier. Flynn, Simba and Bella were treated very well and loved on by all. With appointments over two weeks, they saw two different docs. Both were patient, loving and took the time with me and the cats. They also were not pushing scripts or services which I LOVE. So glad we made the switch! Thank you.

My dog was limping and I called to have him checked out. Well they said I’d have to call at 8 tomorrow and set up an appointment. I called at 8 and they told me no spots available. So I said my dog has to keep limping and I was told there were other clinics available around me. So unprofessional to tell a customer that has been there since my dog was a puppy. I told them to send me my dogs medical history and I will not be returning.

They are always wonderful and they take excellent care of my pets. They also ensure the safety of its pet owners by coming to the car (masked up)and taking the pet inside to reduce contact and align with Covid-19 guidelines.

People can't go in with their pet they come outside & get pet communicate by phone their finding & get an ok to treat pet

Great local vet, reasonable prices. Of course they'll try to get you to have extra procedures done but all you have to do is say no. Other than that, staff is friendly and doctors are very knowledgeable and sympathetic.

As with most Vets they charge an arm and a leg for their services. They insists are tests that I feel are totally unnecessary and very expensive but that happens at with most veterinarian's. I recently had to pay them over $350.00 for my dog's check up, shots, and tests. The only reason I took my dog to the vet is because I wanted to get his medicine for itchy skin. They would not give my his medicine until I relented to have my dog subjected to blood test (very expensive) and a check up. My dog is a senior dog who, in my opinion, does not need shots and blood work anymore. Vets are like lawyers they charge you too much and do very little for what they charge. Also this vet office has become VCA. Years ago I worked for VCA as a vet assistant . They are a large corporation only interested in making as much money as possible and paying their employees as little as possible. In my humble opinion this vet office is nothing special and the same as any other vet's office.

I called Early Monday morning on the 11th at 8:30am to get my dog seen, because she became very sick Sunday night and when I called I explained how sick she was but didn't seem to matter I was told we have "no openings " I have been going there for years and they said try somewhere else. My Camille died the same Monday night on the 11th at 9:15pm. I have taken her there many times, and spent money I really didn't have !! But of course it's Covid 19 at fault. Bull !!!

I had my appointment scheduled for a littler of 7 puppies for shots and check up at 12pm. I arrived at 11:45 and called when I arrived and let them know I was outside. The receptionist asked me what parking spot I was in and I told her I didn't see a spot number but I have a white CRV. I told her I was next to the door. I received a call at 12:18 asking me where I was because they did not see my vehicle. Apparently I was at the wrong location which was only 2 miles from where I was at. I told them I could be there in less then 5 min. They wouldn't take the litter of puppies because I was already "late." I explained to the lady that I didn't know there was 2 locations and with my appointment being at 12pm and yes I was at the wrong location but they were almost 20min late for the appointment to get the puppies and I asked why didn't they verify I was at the correct location. The receptionist said "that something that we don't do." They still wouldn't take us and told me the next appointment wasn't for another 2 weeks. Needless to say... I found another vet that would accommodate us and $125 cheaper. Thanks for not taking us... I was able to save money :)
