My Great Dane loves this place. She stays with I'm out of town and goes to the day care. The employees love her like their own.

I don't feel like 5 stars is enough, if anyone isn't using their stars can I have them? I'd like to give this facility 7 or 8 stars :-) My dog came from a chain store boarding facility and needless to say it was awful. I searched far and wide for a nearby facility for my 100 lb German Shepherd. Happy Tails never came up in my search as it is appx 25 mins away from my house but let me tell you, they are well worth the drive! The facility quickly understood my dogs nosey personality and they let him be nosey instead of getting mad at him. The staff remembers my baby even though he has boarded there only 2 times prior to this week's board. I love that the owner takes photos and posts them on FB because it gives me a peace of mind while I'm away. I love seeing how much my baby has fun at boarding.

Just a great fun place to let the dogs be dogs. Really love that they have a pool for the dogs who live to swim!

Renting the side yard and pool are the best options when you have 3 pups and a small Norfolk yard ... absolutely recommend any and all services here!

Happy Tails is the very best! My doggo has been attending doggie daycare there for over a year. The staff is amazing! They genuinely care about the dogs and get to know them as individuals. My dog gets so excited to go to daycare and he comes home happy every time!

We have just moved away and I’ve spent countless hours looking for another doggie day care that could be as wonderful as Happy Tails. It does not look like Northern VA can come close! Our sweet 70 pound shepherd-husky mix has loved every single day she spent there. She always came home happy and exhausted, and she always arrived at Happy Tails with her tail wagging and ran to greet the employees. We were also very happy with boarding and grooming services. The people at Happy Tails will love your dog like their own dogs and do everything possible to give them a wonderful day or however long they spend. We are going to miss them, but not as much as our beloved dog will.

I've taken two of my dogs to Happy Tails for daycare and had a great experience. Lillie is nervous but the staff is very patient with her and works with her understanding that sometimes she needs her space. Our other dog Trixie is a social butterfly and loves meeting new friends at Happy Tails. The staff really cares about the dogs and communicates well with me as an owner. You can also do a reservation for their side yard in 30 minute increments which I recently did for the first time my dog Moxie's 14th birthday party. We had the yard all to ourselves and they provided tennis balls and water. The dogs ran and played, loving every minute. In the summer, you can also reserve pool time. Highly recommend. Feel lucky to have Happy Tails in our community.

My boss always brings her dog here for daycare and the staff is amazing. He always comes home so happy and tired out.

I'm very careful where I leave my dog because I'm paranoid something will happen to her, but I always feel very safe leaving her at Happy tails Resort. The dogs are supervised at all times, there's plenty of play space, plenty of nap space, and there's plenty of room indoors for all the dogs to run around so that they aren't subjected to extreme temperatures. all the staff are very friendly and helpful, and they all remember my dog and me so that I feel like they truly care about her.the pricing is very reasonable, and the criteria for what counts as a full day vs. a half day of doggie daycare is also reasonable (less than 5 hours is a half-day, more than 5 hours is a full day). It's easiest to park on the street and walk your dog up because they don't have their own parking lot. Everytime my dog goes here, she comes home happyand tired, so I don't have to feel bad about being gone for several hours a day knowing that she is socialized and exercised.

I took my rescue pup to trial doggie daycare earlier this week. My previous dog LOVED Happy Tails & I was hoping Leila would too. Michelle was great reading Leila's reactions & saw she was very anxious & scared of other dogs. I will work to slowly socialize with other doggies & hope she will get to a point where she is ready. Happy Tails is the best place & I know she'll love it if she can get past her fears. Many thanks to Michelle (& all Happy Tails staff) for loving Woody & I hope you will get to know Leila better when she's ready.

I love the fact that this place allows you to swim with your pup! The entire facility is awesome. Meena and I did a private swim/play yard session but we will be back for a group play date!

Not fond of the way my dog smelled after returning. Almost smelled like pee and poop with lots of red Marks under his fur. Still might use them if they address what the smell is.

Big waste of my time! I’ve had my dog for 12 years and never boarded him, had multiple groomers take him with no problem. I drove all the way out here to get him groomed in the rain and get turned down because after they groom him they put him in their daycare with other dogs even though I usually pick him up...place looks run down anyway... Don’t waste your time

Our dogs love Happy Tails! They get so excited when we get there! I love their flexibility, they allow us to drop The dogs off for daycare without a reservation, which is great for us because we usually have to make that decision last minute. They have very reasonable hours! The staff is very friendly and loving! We also use them for Boarding!

Nefer loves this place! ❤️ We always come here to drop her off when I'm in town and she always leaves tired and satisfied. ???????? Only thing I would ask for is a doggy cam and more pics of my dog tagged properly through their Facebook page. ????

Edit *year update* Still just as amazing as ever! We've moved into the area and she attends daycare at least once a week, and boarding occasionally. The staff is super helpful, and very patient with her. She's really coming out of her shell with their help. I love that they have a social media presence and that I can see her having fun in daycare! I look forward to looking for her in their pictures when she is there. Absolutely amazing staff! My Luna has separation issues, but they worked with us for over a week, letting her come in for a few minutes at a time to sniff around, until she felt comfortable. Today, she made it back to the other dogs, and was not as anxious. If the staff had not been so patient and kind, Luna would never have had the chance to socialize with other dogs. Very clean facility, and organized, with staff who are available even after hours for the animals. Huge difference between other places that leave at 7 for the whole night. If I could, I would give 10 stars.

They did amazing work on my dog Revy she came in without fear and left the same but cleaner and well groomed it's a very welcome environment and they cater to the dogs needs. They have earned my patronage from today onwards. If you want your dog to have welcoming experience and amazing grooming this is the place to go.

Happy tails runs a brilliant concept daycare and boarding facility. In which the dogs can play and socialize in pack. A pack is a very wonderful way for your dog to just be a dog. However, they do have a screening process for the safety of all of the dogs who go there. If your dog doesn't pass the screening they can't attend daycare or boarding but keep on mind that this is for their safety as well as all of the other dogs. My dogs went for their screening and passed (and had a great time ????) and I knew that they would be happy and safe when I boarded them there a few days later. Later that week they boarded for 2 days and came back healthy, happy and tired from all of the fun that they had. Please look at the negative reviews with a critical eye. Most of them are unhappy because their dog didn't pass the screening and don't understand that it's for safety reasons. I would definitely recommend that you give them a try. My dogs love this place and I do too...it's a great way to care for your dogs when you are away (no cages, no small kennels and lots of play time)
