Dr. Sekut is undoubtedly the best veterinarian I know and one of the best people I know. He is intelligent, funny, kind and he cares so deeply for every animal he sees. I ask a LOT of questions and I want to know every single detail all the time. He answers every question with detail and patience and takes seriously the owners concerns. Have you ever just "had a feeling" that something is wrong and had a hard time getting a vet to take you seriously? Not with Dr. Sekut. He takes the owners history and knowledge as seriously as any test. My cat has a chronic condition that he helps me manage. She has recovered so well and when I suspect that she needs to have some medicine or any type of treatment, Dr. Sekut takes me seriously. He also has a very keen eye. My cat was diagnosed with her condition based on a routine blood test. Two of her values were still in the normal range but were were early warning sign. This was something another vet I took her to before hadn't noticed. I truly feel like my baby is only alive because of how good this man is at his job. I have never known a harder working, smarter, kinder or more dedicated man than Dr. Les Sekut.

My dog had a growth on his chest. Vet refused to make an appointment for surgery without a deposit. I wanted peace of mind before I paid and I couldn't have that peace of mind because"I might not pay." Fast forward a month later and I take my dog in because the growth swelled and was bleeding for 2 1/2 days and I couldn't get it to stop. My dog left that appointment without the wound being cleaned or dressed. My dog passed 2 days after that appointment from what I assume was blood loss. Please don't take your pet to this clinic. Les Sekut is nothing but a money grubbing businessman, not a doctor. No doctor vet or otherwise should let a patient leave with an actively bleeding wound. This animal hospital did, Les Sekut did. I and my dog Otis trusted this man with his life and he failed me and my dog. Please don't let your animal fall victim to this businessman. Les Sekut only cares about the money,not the animals. If there was a 0 star rating,I would've used it.

The best Vet in my opinion and the staff ever .You want someone to care about your pet ,then visit them. The most caring people on the peninsula. Love all of you. Thanks for everything you did for my tinkerbell, love pam ❤

Dr Sekuit is knowledgeable,kind, and caring, and the BEST veterinarian I know. He has always diagnosed what is wrong with my fur baby, and given the best care and advise. He truly cares about every animal he sees. I trust him completely.

They were able to get us in for an emergency. LOL great care of our cat with a dislocated knee! Would recommend!!!

Took my grand fur baby there today for emergency, the staff was very friendly. The best part was theVet doctor himself was very caring and explained everything that was going with my daughter's dog. He was able to calm her down because she was very nervous when we went into the exam room. He fix the problem on the spot and now my grand fur baby is back to eating and being her diva self again. Thanks to the staff.

I was so glad that I was able to find a local vet that could give my guinea pig the care that he needed after an injury. Dr. Les Sekut takes the time to explain and answer any questions that you may have, and it is obvious that both he, and his staff, actually care about the well-being of your pet. I am so pleased with the care provided at Newport News Animal Hospital, that I have transferred my cat over from a previous vet.

A few weeks after having moved to the Newport News area, my two greyhounds had medical emergencies at the same time. I called 15 different animal hospitals and emergency care centers and no one would see them because they were new patients and they were only accepting existing ones. My dogs needed urgent care and I was desperate. As soon as we called, Dr.Sekut's staff told us to come in, even though they were also swamped. I am so grateful to Doctor Sekut and his staff for receiving us that night. Since then, we have visited them several times (for both urgent and non-urgent care) and received excellent attention. I was hoping to find a doctor and staff who really care for animals and was lucky enough to end up at this hospital. Dr. Sekut loves his patients and treats them with seriousness, care and respect. He goes beyond the call of duty and past regular hours to care for his animals. You may have to wait a bit but that is because the Doc and his team give each patient time and devotion. He has seen our dogs through some serious injuries. The staff is outstanding as well. We are very grateful and appreciative of this Animal Hospital.

This was not a good experience. No one wanted to answer any of my questions, and when they did they were short and condescending and rude—even when I explained that this was our first time. They didn’t pet or talk to my dog or offer him treats even as they took blood and administered vaccines. Their attitude was very rude and negative about his size (90lbs), even going so far as to say a woman had no business trying to care for a dog that big. The entire experience was a nightmare for me and my dog. I was shocked to read so many good reviews after the experience I had. This was the worst vet experience I’ve ever had. I will 110% never set foot back in that office. Also the lobby is so small. At one point there were three medium size dogs all on top of one another and they were all upset about it.

Wonderful staff and veterinarian care. Our bunny wasn’t moving, constipated for almost 24 hours. His vet was booked and we couldn’t fine help all day. At 6:00 pm we brought him to the the emergency service at Newport News Animal Hospital, the doctor was amazing he evaluated and medicated him and in an hours he was jumping around again. Definitely we will coming back. I totally recommend this place.

Had an appointment for 5pm and wasn’t seen until 8pm. Was given no apology or explanation as to why it was taking so long nor were we given updates on when they would see our puppy. While waiting, the phone was ringing constantly but no one at the front desk would answer the phone but were scrolling on their phones the whole time. I feel as if the staff is just lazy in general but the doctor seems to really care about the animals. But unfortunately, situations like these really discourage you from wanting to come back. This was our second appointment here and the first time we still had to wait at least 2 hours after our scheduled time even though we showed up an hour early. I am most definitely not bringing my puppy here anymore.

Bottom line the staff and doctor saved my dogs life. My dog had a blockage in his intestines and I took him there. The doctor tried to avoid cutting him open but when I took my dog back the next day they had no choice. They gave me the cheapest price they could because I am military and they knew how much my dog meant to me. The staff there is amazing and they are honestly the most trustworthy staff I’ve ever had the pleasure of taking my dog to. My dog is recovering now and is getting better day by day. If you have any issues serious or minor the staff and doctor will 100 percent take care of you and your pet. I only leave reviews if a place had an impact on me. So thank you all so much and thank you for saving my dogs life!

I took my dog here as he had two large lumps on his neck. Turns out he has cancer. Dr. Sekut was wonderful with him and me! I highly recommend him and his team for any of your pets needs. They are all professional, friendly and really care about your pets. They are taking extremely great care with my dog. I'm so glad I went to see them.

You will not regret sending your pets to Dr. Sekut. He cares for all pets as if they are his own, and has always provided the absolute best care for my dog. I trust his practice and care whole heartedly and could not be more thankful for all of the attention he’a given to my pup - absolute best vet in the area!!

The BEST animal hospital on the peninsula.

Dr. Sekut has done it again!! This is the second time we’ve had to come in with an emergency for our fur baby. He stayed ALL NIGHT with him to keep him stabilized and run all the tests needed to properly diagnose him. If you want good care for your animals, take them here. Dr. Sekut is the most patient and motivated veterinarian I’ve ever met. Our kitty is alive because of you- thank you so much for all you do!!

I would have appreciated them telling me the exam would cost me near 60 dollars before performing it. They need a bigger lobby to keep the furry friends apart. It's 3 stars for me. Period

Everyone at NN animal hospital is super nice and helpful and Mr. Sekut is an amazingly thorough vet who loves animals and wants to help any that come through the door. Rachel, one of the nurses, is amazing and has communicated through everything and has been nothing but helpful and she even potentially saved my dogs life just by suggesting using an EKG during surgery. And Brie, Arlenne, and Dianna are always quick to answer any questions they can help with as well and even help me change my pups bandage wrap. God bless everyone and their work at NNAH

This is the best place for you pet! Dr. Sekut is amazing. He honestly cares for the animals, very compassionate. Everything he does is in their best interest. He goes above and beyond. Everyone who works there is amazing, a great team. My cat is the meanest ANIMAL that goes there, no joke. He's well known amongst the staff. He's extremely aggresive during vet visits, yet they always take good care of him. Always. I recommend this place to everyone. If you love your animals, take them here!!! This place is the best!!!

Absolutely the best the staff is so caring and wonderful with my animals Rachel went above and beyond She is so caring and loving to all four of my dogs she’s actually save my dogs life three times already the doctor is also great very nice I love his humor and I would have to say a great thank you to Bree as well the staff is wonderful if you ever need a vet this is the best one you should go to

I love the Veterinarian and all the wonderful Vet techs at this place! They're so sweet and caring! I have a cat, but not a lot of emergency funds, and he'll still work with you on medication pricing and care! Everything is affordable and they'll work with you. Just trust them!

Very caring staff. The vet is excellent. He explains everything in language you can understand. He is a great surgeon and fixed my little furry son's knee. They are very good with your pets. Can't say enough nice things about Rachel, Dianna and Bree. Thank you.
