Best vet. Dr. Edders saved my dogs life.

It's no wonder there are so many 5 star reviews! I had my first appointment today with Dr. Mark and within minutes of meeting his staff and himself, I knew I made the best decision for the care of my pups. Dr. Mark is incredibly personable, knowledgeable and caring. He is diligent about getting to the root of the problem - not just medicating symptoms. My girl is a bit shy with new people and situations but they made sure she was comfortable and knew just how to get her to warm up. Really happy I found Birkdale Animal Hospital and will highly recommend it to others!

I am so HAPPY to now go to Birkdale AH! My dogs were at another local vet for 10 years. Their service and level of care slowly declined. I finally switched to Dr. Mark and do not know why I waited so long! Dr. Mark spent enough time with them to get to know them. In doing that, he diagnosed issues that were ignored at our old vet's office. We could not be more pleased!!!

I highly recommend Birkdale Animal Hospital to anyone looking for a primary veterinarian! I take my two dogs Jagger & Autumn here and always have great professional and reliable experiences with great cost efficient prices. Even when I have questions, which I’ve had a lot lately with our dog Autumn’s anxiety they have been super attentive and compassionate! Especially a shout out to Dr. Regina and front desk women Shannon and Kristen! I cannot thank you all enough for what you do!

Dr. Mark and his staff are wonderful! I rescued a 5yr old Yorkie from a shelter in April. She was in a heartbreaking state. Poor thing was constantly having accidents, could not keep herself from straining and crying every time she went potty. On top of that she had heartworm and horrible dermatitis from recent exposure to fleas. I didn't have a veterinarian yet on this side of town since we moved here so 3 days after I brought her home, I headed to the emergency hospital. I was informed then that she had a large bladder stone the size of a golf ball! Instead of having the emergency hospital perform the surgery, I called Birkdale Animal Hospital. They fit her in right away! Dr. Mark examined her and quickly set her up for surgery the next morning to remove the stone. She did amazing and healed wonderfully because of the care she received. Dr. Mark then treated her for her heartworm and in just 2mths she was cleared. It's been 4mths now and Luna is a healthy and happy girl! He saved her life. He now sees our first fur baby too, who has anxiety. He was given all the patience that he needed and left a happy boy. We are SO thankful to Dr. Mark and his staff! Stellar care!

Wanted to give a shout out to one of the best veterinarians in the area, Dr. Mark McGeough with Birkdale Animal Hospital. I just came from his office with my 3-year old German shepherd who is very protective and very reactive to new people and new things. Dr. Mark knows just how to approach, or not approach any dog I have had. His manner is very calm, and he and I talked about the best way for him to see the skin issue I was having with my dog. I got the dog to lay down and partially rolled over so Dr. Mark could see the rash. He knew immediately what the problem was and put my dog on antibiotics for it. It was also time for my dog’s Bordetella vaccine. Instead of giving him an injection he got a liquid form that I was able to give my dog myself. He thought he was getting a treat! If anyone in the Charlotte – Huntersville area is looking for a great vet, go to Birkdale Animal Hospital. Their entire staff is very friendly and helpful, and I highly recommend them.

I’m not one to take the time to write reviews. But Dr. Mark deserves a review right now!! BEST VETERINARIAN award goes to you. Unfortunately, We had to put our Doberman down today and the whole office handled it so amazing. They were all professional, sympathetic, understanding.... all the things. Dr Mark has been there since we first got Chief and he was the only one we were going to let send him off to puppy heaven.

Companionable, understanding. amzing stuff who cares for your kids. Front desk, techs, doctors....everyone Dr Etter is always taking an extra mile to fulfill all patient needs.

Dr. Mark and Sarah treat me like family, mostly because I am indeed one of their daughters.

I can't say enough good things about Birkdale Animal Hospital. They've taken great care of all three of our dogs since we moved to North Carolina two years ago. From annual examinations to our puppy eating a family heirloom diamond earring, they've been fantastic through it all. Last week had to say a final goodbye to our 17.5-year-old yellow lab, Brandy. She took a turn for the worse at the very end of the day and the team at Birkdale Animal Hospital graciously stayed late so our Brandy didn't have to be in pain anymore. They were so patient with us while we said our goodbyes, explain the process, and assured us we were making the right decision. We picked up her ashes today and were touched by the handwritten condolence card from the entire team and the engraved paw print. I couldn't say it in the office today without crying so I'm saying it now - thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for everything you all have done to make this difficult time as easy on us as possible.

Dr. Mark McGeough was wonderful with our dog, Rosie. He was so kind and reassuring. You can tell he really cares about the pets and the ‘pet parents’. Amazing staff!

Initially when I went to BAH I was satisfied; however as time went on the. care became poor. Communications VERY POOR. Staff and doctors choose to not tell the truth. I'm not going to go into specifics, however, if you want to be involved in the care of your pet, STAY AWAY FROM BAH. If you want to be dictated to as to what to do, then go. Their costs go up weekly with never informing clients. If there was an option for NO STARS that would have been my choice.

My Baby Bailey loves this place they make him comfortable and happy!

Dr Mark and his team are the best of the best. They are compassionate and truly love what they do. Place is super clean and well managed. We have been a customer/patient of BAH through three dogs over a span of 12-15 years. My lab has had four intestinal surgeries and well taken care of by BAH.

I wish I could give Birkdale animal hospital more than 5 stars. I've primarily worked with Dr Etter and I can say without a doubt he's the best Vet I've ever encountered. He really cares about your pets and he has been simply amazing when caring for our cats. I highly recommend.

WE TREASURE THESE FOLKS! Thank goodness we found BAH. Everyone, doctors and staff alike, always go out of their way to make us feel like we're special. Their care for the creatures is over the top and very loving. They are extremely reasonable in their fees, in fact, we've actually felt like we should pay more simply because of their loving, attentive manner. We've been long time devotees of Birkdale Animal Hospital, and we've had to say goodbye to some of our beloved furr-babies, but the warm, caring, professionalism of these special doctors carried is through it. Our dogs feel the love too and Gracie even taught herself to go straight to the scale, sit and get weighed! Please do yourself and your animals a favor...stop by and get acquainted. They're everything we could have hoped for in professionals to care for our pets. The best!

Really nice place. Staff are extremely friendly and the doctors are good. Thorough and take time to answer all your questions.

This is probably the best company I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with. Everyone from the staff that greet you when you walk through the door to the nurses to the doctors are just out of this world nice. To say they go above and beyond doesn't even begin to capture it. I recently had to put a pet down and they made what was one of my worst days the best it could have been. I'm so thankful for them and would encourage everyone to use them.

We had such an amazing experience here! The people are just incredible from the receptionist to the doctor himself. You could tell they all genuinely love animals and their jobs. The vet was so great with our lab and she loved him. We plan to use them as our regular Vet for both of our dogs and recommend that all our friends and family in the area do as well.

I can't say enough wonderful things about the staff here. I am hard to please as I worked at several vet offices in my younger years, but I am satisfied beyond my wildest dreams. All staff and doctors are caring and wonderful and they work with my crazy. Doctor Mark is my go-to. He has helped me with my 15 year old cat with thyroid issues, my pittie mix sisters who both required ACL surgery (possibly a second for one of my girls) and he is helping my 17 year old cat with renal issues fight the good fight. If your fur-babies are family and not something that lives in your house, Birkdale is the best place you could hope for. Again, I do not have enough words to say how amazing they are. See for yourself!

We have been going to Dr. Mark for over 10 years, him and his wife are incredible at what they do they love and treat there patient's with the best care. Only place I will go.

I recommend this Veterinarian hospital to anyone. Today I had to say goodbye to my sweet Cammie and as hard as it was, the staff was EXTREMELY compassionate. When I walked in the door I was immediately taken to a room for privacy (I wasn't handling it well). Amanda explained the procedure to me and answered my questions. Dr. Etter, whom I can not say enough great things about, was very detailed and supportive. Forgive me for not remembering the receptionists names but they too were very compassionate, offering condolences as I left. We still have 1 dog and I wouldn't dream of taking him to see anyone else. Dr. Mark is great with my Dog, not only is he professional, he loves all the animals that he cares for. He is friendly, gentle and loves what he does. I couldn't ask for a better doctor to take of my Jack....

We have been going to Birkdale Animal Hospital for five years now. The facility is clean and inviting, and the exam rooms have a calming vibe as well. Their prices are reasonable and they don't try to upsell you on unnecessary preventative care. We see Dr. Mark McGeough and he is an excellent vet. He's compassionate, caring, communicative, and extremely knowledgable. I feel like he treats my pets as he would treat his own, and we always trust his diagnosis and advice. I've recommended friends here before, and everyone is happy with the care their pets receive. Don't hesitate to go BAH; they're as good as it gets!

Birkdale Animal Hospital is our favorite place to take our animals, whether for a checkup or their final visit. We take our dog Bab's there for her checkups and non-emergency issues, and the staff is always friendly and gentle with her, as she's skittish and shy. They always go over what issues were found and discuss options for treatments. We also took our cat Tweetie there for her final visit after spending 17 years with us, and the staff was genuinely saddened with our loss, and we even received a card signed by all of the staff a few days later. It thoughtfulness like this that will keep us going back to Birkdale Animal Hospital. If only our own doctors were as good!
