VCA Chestatee Animal Hospital Dahlonega, North Carolina

My dog is a patient here and was turned away because the vet was "busy." They told me to drive 10 miles away to the other VCA Animal Hospital and I was turned away by that hospital and told to drive 25 miles away to the emergency vet although the vet was open. I had to find another local vet to see my dog and start all over as a new patient. When I logged into my VCA account, my dogs entire profile and history had been wiped out. I will never set foot in this vet again.

Did an amazing job today! Worked me in last minute to do a check on a rescue kitten. They were so polite and friendly and really wanted to help out with all my questions and concerns!

I spent over half a grand just to find out if my cat is going to die or not. Zero empathy from any of the staff. Worst vet I have ever been to. DO NOT SPEND YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY HERE. It has been over 24 hours and we still haven't gotten anything back. The receptionist told us the vet would call us with the results but it has been over 2 hours. HORRIBLE VET, OVERPRICED, NOT RELIABLE, NOT RESPONSIVE, NOT PROFESSIONAL, AND POOR VALUE. I would rate lower than 1 star if I could. Update: The results came back with nothing useful and no one told us what could possibly be wrong, despite us telling them all of her symptoms. I feel as if a vet should know or at least have an idea what is wrong based off of the symptoms alone. My cat passed away last night after spending about $550 to discover absolutely nothing. Worst experience I have ever had with a vet. Shameful.

An amazing group of people that are very caring, compassionate and kind. This will be the only animal hospital our family will use anytime in the future. Keep up the awesome work.

I want rate them 5 star . I am a semi truck driver my truck spilled antifreeze and broke down luckily in front of this hospital, i went to get some water for my truck and had only 3 empty gallons . The staff there was extremely kind , not only give me water but supplied me with more empty gallons and filled with water . A cart to push with . They even helped all the way to my truck . I am so grateful. Thank you very much

Probably the best vet I have ever been to. The staff are all animal lovers, and incredibly friendly. They are excellent with the animals, and their prices are extremely fair. I can't recommend this place enough!

I just had my cat Negan up at Chestatee Animal Hospital. I couldn't be happier with the staff. I was put at ease about the issues with my fur baby and the staff was very understanding. They explained everything to me and the best course of action to get my Kitty all better. This was so much better than the last Vet I took my cat to for a respiratory infection.

We spend the summer in Dahlonega and have tried to use this vet here and there in a pinch and they have never been helpful. We see a VCA hospital in Atlanta regularly and all of our animals are up to date however it never seems to be enough. We ran out of flea medication and they required a exam to give us more. Even though I have there vet records available. This is not the first time they have done this. Last year my vet called in a Rx to them and they still wanted 100$ in exam fees. Want to get your dog groomed "we will need to do a vet exam" WHAT???. The bottom line seems more important to them then helping people and their pets. Red Barn on Hwy 60 is a reputable and reasonable vet who deserves your business. These people DO NOT!

We love the staff and the facility at Chestatee Animal Hospital. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and great with my dog. The facility is clean, and prices are reasonable.

We have used this facility for many years. They_have taken care of all our dogs and helped us through some tough times. New owners charge us more but they are convenient to where we live. They do love all the animals they tend to.

Dr. Tarpley showed our dog, Lola, great affection and care during our recent visit. Lola needed her yearly vaccinations and much like her "parents," Lola doesn't enjoy needles. Dr. Tarpley took her time to make sure Lola was comfortable in the unfamiliar surroundings of the office and thankfully, the extra care led to an incident-free visit! The rest of the staff was very caring as well. The price for the vaccinations was the best we found in town so we will definitely be back. Thanks, Dr. Tarpley and the rest of the staff. Great work!
