I never leave reviews. I was skeptical because I have an 18 year old dog and he has been groomed in one place. The ladies at this shop not only handled my old man beautifully, they took care of my 3 year old Yorkie as well. Teddy is a Shiba Pom mix they were cut beyond my expectations. Thank you ladies and we will be returning for your services. I read some of the reviews and they made me more skeptical. I am so happy I decided to bring them in.

Very nice and respectful place who works with you and treats your pet like it's theirs.

They do such a great job with our Cassie she also seems to be not traumatized when I pick her up as I have found with other groomers. She is a little couch potato!

They take great care of my 13 yo dog. He is not a fan of grooming but is always relaxed and happy when I pick him up from Canine Designs. They take their time, do a great job, and for a good price.

Caring, always do a great job grooming our Skittles (maltipoo)! And he smells so good when I pick him up! Highly recommend!

Awesome staffs: very friendly & professional. Not to mention, they did an amazing job grooming my two dogs today. The price is reasonable and I’m happy with the service! If it wasn’t for the closure of my regular groomer, I wouldn’t have discovered this place, and I’m glad I did!!! This is my first time, and definitely won’t be my last. Highly recommended!

Dog and people friendly folks.

I will never take my dogs back here again! We dropped them off at around 8:30. Lady at front asked if I had a time I wanted them back and I said no. Well that was bad on my end because at 1:00 they still hadn’t gave my yorkie a hair cut after being there for 5 hours! When I did get them back they literally cut all her hair off her body and that has never happened before. Since we have gotten her back she has been shaking, scared to death, and clinging to her momma. I’m not sure what they did to her but I will know longer take my dogs here! They also leave them in cages for 5 hours and don’t even attempt to take them to the bathroom. Freaking ridiculous! You think your leaving you pets with great people and then they go and do good knows what to them! You have been warned people!!!

Excellent, always accommodating. I miscommunicated time to my husband, so we came late and they got my babies in and they are beautiful. Always a great job, highly recommended and kernel and elsa say thank you. Elsa says thank you for being patient with her, even though she likes to argue about her hair. :)

The only reason I’m giving 1 star is so I can write a review. Do not take your dog here. Very bad experience years ago.

Canine Designs is hands-down the most accommodating groomer in town. My pup is sadly no longer a pup and needs a little extra attention to get the grooming job done. Some places don’t really understand that, or they’re unwilling to put forth that extra effort. The ladies at this fine establishment go above and beyond their calling. My golden is one of those super clingy dogs that refuses to leave my side. But when it’s time to pick him up from this place, he’ll walk out to the front desk from the back (like he owns the place), take one look at me as if to dismissively say, “oh... it’s you,” and turn right back around. This place is his home away from home. And we couldn’t be more grateful. Thank you, ladies.

My girlfriend took our yorkie/maltese pup in yesterday who was full of beautiful curls. She asked for a teddy bear cut. However, she asked for the body hair to just be slightly trimmed with the scissors, and came back to our puppy fully shaved with the clippers. It’s so sad they would do that to our puppy. My girlfriend being a nice person paid for it unfortunately. If I was there, wouldn’t of gotten a dime.

You have no idea how hairy he was before we took him to get a cut ????as soon as we went in they were extremely friendly and I absolutely recommend...coco loved it as well !!

I was very disappointed with my experience....I usually take my 2 goldendoodles to a groomer in Va Beach but was looking for something closer to home...I did my research and heard a lot of great things about Canine Design and they’ve been around for years....as soon as I walked in with my 2 goldendoodles I was told that they would have to be completely shaved from nose to tail and that they were completely matted......when the groomer checked them she didn’t show me a matte but still said that they would have to be fully shaved as they were completely matted....I ended up not leaving them and was able to take them directly to their normal groomer in Va Beach and they only found a couple small mattes on one of the boys heads that they were able to comb out and they look amazing...I was really disappointed, I was made to feel as though my dogs are unkept and that they were in terrible shape when in reality I think they just didn’t want to take the time to do a proper groom and summer cut on two larger dogs...these were not two dogs that needed to be shaved in any way

Canine Design provided the absolute worst experience I have ever had as a consumer, in any industry. The young woman named Emily who runs the front desk rolled her eyes at drop off when I requested my dog’s fur be kept long and then made a show of saying she was “COVERED in mats” in front of the other customers, which she was not. I reiterated that I did not want her cut too short and she said they would do their best. 7 hours later we were informed she was ready for pickup, which knowing what we saw after makes me extremely suspicious of what exactly took that long. When picked up, she was completely shaved to the skin from nose to tail. My boyfriend picked her up and he noticed she was shaking and acting extremely unsettled, completely out of character for our boisterous 11 month old Westy puppy. Not only that, there was a fresh mark on her back that they attempted to blame on my parents dogs, who she hadn’t played with in weeks. It will take at least six months for her full coat and skirt to grow back. I called the following morning and calmly expressed that they shouldn’t deviate that far from an owner’s request, at which point the same Emily said “let me cut you off I TOLD YOU she was covered in mats.” She continued to be defensive, rude and refused to listen to a word I said. Now reading the other reviews, it is obvious that they have a track record of not listening to customer requests, treating animals poorly and not being capable of anything other than a basic clipper cut. I will potentially be reporting them to animal control and the Better Business Bureau and with this review hope I prevent other owners and animals from going through the same horrible experience.

I love this place and most importantly my dog loves this place! The girl at the front desk is so friendly and she always tries to accommodate me even if I call at the last minute. I have a white German shepherd and oh the hair! The groomer always does a great job of bathing, brushing, clipping her nails- basically making her beautiful from top to bottom. She smells so good and has a great big bow when I pick her up. My Bailey is so happy. You won't find a better place. Thank you Canine Designs!

Have taken two dogs here for a few years with no problems. Very understanding as dogs aged and developed health conditions.

We have been taking our Scottie to Canine Designs for several years. Great customer service, professional and animal loving staff. Returning again and again says it all. Highly recommended.

Did a great job, quick and affordable

I had been taking the Boys to another groomer that was closer to home but I am glad I came back to Canine Designs. The ladies here do a much better job and for less money. Thank You, that drive is not so bad after all.

I have been going to Canine Designs for almost 20 years... Pam and her crew are amazing... and they love my babie(s) past and present...You will not be disappointed!

This is my first & last time I will bring my dog to get groomed. I'm extremely disappointed. When I picked up my 14month westie I didn't like her haircut at all. Upon further examination the left side of her face her hair was uneven and chopped. Not what a Westie should look like.

Great place. Nice people. My mini schnauser always looks so handsome when he gets groomed there.

Grooming was done as requested and service was friendly. I take my dogs to Canine Designs all the time.
