I can't recommend Animal Kingdom enough! They helped us with the process of moving our two cats from the US to the UK and really took a lot of stress out of the situation due to their help and knowledge. When I needed one more thing last minute they were completely accommodating. Everyone here is so helpful and clearly loves animals. They are the best!

We've been with Animal Kingdom for the past 12 years now. They've supported us through all of our pups' ups and downs. The staff are friendly and knowledgable. Alena is especially amazing and always so helpful! We've seen both Dr. Highsmith and Dr. Midkiff and they both love on our animals as if they were their own. Anytime we've ever had to refer to an emergency hospital, the staff at Animal Kingdom have called the facility prior to our visiting to let them know we are on our way and called to check in with us after treatment. We so appreciate the staff at Animal Kingdom. Thank you for everything you do each day!

I can’t recommend Animal Kingdom enough! You can genuinely feel that all the staff cares for your pet. My rabbit had to be euthanized and they made it as smooth of a process as it could be, explaining everything and giving me time to process. I plan to take all pets here in the future!

I scheduled a first appointment for my puppy a month ago, they call me 20 minutes before the appointment I scheduled to tell me it was 1 minute past my appointment and they had to cancel. I know that was impossible because I couldn't have made it any earlier. This is extremely unprofessional. Look for another vet.

I love it here. They have a tripod kitty and the best staff. They are super sweet. 10/10

My dog was diagnosed with severe glaucoma and couldn't undergo surgery for eunucleation due to a severe heart murmur. Dr Highsmith referred my dog to a canine opthalmologist for a non-surgical treatment that she doesn't perform. The opthalmologist was booked out for weeks and my poor dog was in a lot of pain. After calling 20+ vets all over the area and way outside the area as well, I called back very frustrated and explained the long wait at the opthalmologist and that my search for someone to do it sooner had been fruitless. I was hoping the vet knew of *anyone* else that might do the procedure that I could call. I got a call back that Highsmith would do the procedure even though she wasn't super familiar with it and my dog had it done within a week of his diagnosis vs. the several weeks he was going to have to wait otherwise. We had to do several follow-ups to make sure the pressure in his eye didn't return to painful levels, but at this point the doctor says she's pretty confident our dog is in the clear. It was so nice of her to help us out and we really appreciated it. Not only did our dog get the alternative treatment he needed MUCH faster, it was significantly cheaper than the $1000 surgery to have his eye removed. Thanks Animal Kingdom! Oh yeah, the staff here is really nice too :)

I had to put down my pet rat earlier this month. The two women at Animal Kingdom were exceptionally sweet to her in her final moments, as well as very helpful, communicative, and considerate towards me.

I had to put down my hamster and the staff was extremely comforting and sweet. They are truly a good hospital

Brought my bunny in to find out he had an ear infection. The staff and Dr. Highsmith were amazing! I was so nervous to bring him in for the first time and with COVID precautions they were not allowing anyone to go into the building. They answered all my questions and even though I could not go in to meet Dr. Highsmith personally, I could tell just by speaking to her on the phone my bunny was loved and in great hands by her and the staff. I am very thankful to have found a great vet to bring him to in the future and recommend them to anyone in the area

What amazing animal care. Our two bunnies were neutered on Thursday, with the coronavirus and not being able to walk them in I was nervous at first but from the moment the staff answered the call to the moment they came for them i knew my babies were in the hands of people who LOVE their jobs and will take amazing care of them. They promptly let me know when both were out of surgery through text which was convenient and were very thorough about their post surgery care. We love them ❤ and our boys have found their forever vet.

After a long search of very expensive rabbit neutering in my area ($900 for two rabbits), I came across Animal Kingdom. I called them for prices, which were almost half the price WITHOUT a waiver (about $210) And was informed about the SPCA waiver which makes it even cheaper. I had both rabbits neutered here for $180, plus $140 for the vouchers. Overall cost being about $320 for BOTH rabbits. This included the laser neutering and pain medicine to take home. They put me on their surgery schedule for the following week. Had both of the rabbits fixed, no complications. The staff was extremely knowledgeable, and friendly. I absolutely would recommend this vet to anyone in NC. We drove about an hour and a half, but it was well worth it for the care we received. I had a fantastic experience with the doctor and staff at Animal Kingdom Veterinary Hospital. They were so kind and helpful, gave me a quote for my gerbils mass removal right away, and they were extremely reasonable and understood that I couldn’t do some of the more expensive testing. Beyond that, Dr. Hightower did a phenomenal job, and they gave me (pre-measured!) pain medicine for my guy after his surgery. They even called me a few days after to check up on him! I’ve never had such a great experience at my other vet, and they’re 3x more expensive! I’m absolutely coming here for all my pets from now on- I’m just sad I didn’t know about this place sooner!

We already had a long time vet that we love for our dog, but were in need of an exotic/small mammal vet for our newly adopted Guinea Pig. These are few and far between and I chose Animal Kingdom based on reviews and affordability. Everyone from the office staff to the veterinarian are wonderful and provide excellent care. They gave us great information on caring for our new pet, saw us promptly when she had a minor injury and even followed up to see how she was doing. The cost is very reasonable and the staff and vet take their time to answer questions and give information. I am glad to have found this practice and highly recommend Animal Kingdom for any family pet!
