I have been using this veterinary office for 15+ years. Dr. Mansfield is so good with the animals and is such a wonderful vet!!

Do yourself a favor and go to ANY vet besides this one. Extremely unprofessional, made 3 appointments. All 3 were 45 minutes late. Sat waiting in the parking lot without being updated at all. Made 2 appointments back to back for 2 puppies, never got to see anyone for either. DO NOT USE THIS VET. Was given no actual reason as to why this has occurred so many times. Seems as though they give preferential treatment to certain people.

Extremely nice and knowledgeable staff really cares about my dogs and works with me to provide exactly the services that I want for them.

I have been bringing both of my cats here since 2013. Dr Mansfield is great to deal with & always has my boys feeling better quickly. Highly recommend.

Staff is super friendly, I was given an appointment right away, dr didnt rush us at all at appointment.

We will only see Dr. Mansfield, and he is highly knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. When my dog was sick last year, he went the extra mile to care for him and check-in even after working hours. Dr. Mansfield saved his life with his extraordinary diagnostic abilities and never gave up. We are forever grateful to Dr. Mansfield.

I was able to get an appointment the same day my puppy wouldn’t stop itching . Dr Mansfield and staff were professional and so nice . Also Dr Mansfield took his time and answered all my questions.

I’m new to the area and was looking for a Veterinarian for my cats. I can’t tell you enough how pleasant the entire staff was . Dr. Mansfield was extremely thorough explaining everything to me. I’m so happy he will be taking care of my pets, I know they will be very well cared for. I’m so pleased with the entire experience and very happy. I’ve never been to a group like this one that made me feel so welcome.

Our first time here and we loved it! Dr. Lopez was so nice and welcoming. Covid precautions were excellent. We were in and out in less than an hour. Nice staff, clean facility and reasonable prices. Would definitely recommend. We just moved to Massapequa and found our new veterinarian!

The staff is very professional and although there still dealing with Covid protocols my dog loved the staff…tail wagging etc.

Dr. Lopez and the tech were excellent wit Lucy. She is a nervous dog and they were great with her.

Dr. Mansfield is wonderful and caring doctor. He knows his stuff and we love him.

Staff was very friendly to the pet parents and to the pet patient. All questions were answered with clarity, all procedures were fully explained. And environment is very very clean. See you next year☺️????

South Shore Animal is great. It's clean, the staff is friendly, and the waiting room is not packed. Our wait time to see a doctor has been fast. Our vet, Dr. Mansfield is a fantastic vet. Jack loves him.

Dr. Bayha is wonderful. Absolutely the best they have there. She will be missed very much. Staff is great, too! They are excellent with regard to following Covid regulations.

They kept close to appointment time, Dr Valentino was very good. She called me to discuss Teddys illness. After our talk she examined him and called me with a treatment plan. Dr. Valentino called me the next day to see how Teddy was progressing. Very caring and spent the time we needed.

I came to south shore out of desperation after bringing my cat to the vet near me in Forest Hills. She had dental issues, needed surgical treatment, but I was told it was severe and the bill handed to me was well over 2k for a procedure that came with no explanation. My friend recommended me to South Shore, and I was able to squeeze in a last minute appointment and rushed over. The experience was phenominal. Knowledgeable, kind staff, and Dr. Valentino gave me a thorough breakdown of the situation and what had to be done. There was no push to pay a huge bill right away, and I actually felt like my cat was being cared for over cost. She was able to have the surgery the next day (with accurate explanations as to what was going on) and I was called promptly after xrays to get the whole scope of the situation. I was given antibiotics, pain meds, and a proper breakdown of what to do following up, leaving me comforted and secure that my cat was being taken care of, and that I was fully informed. The bill ended up being completely reasonable, and I didn’t feel any anxiety as if it was being thrown at me without explanation. There was a thorough breakdown of cost, and I left knowing I came to the perfect place! My cat is feeling great after, she was clearly well taken care of and I would absolutely recommend anyone to come here for their fur children. Loved the experience, very professional especially during Covid, and happy with the results. Thank you South Shore!

Very caring and thorough. Dr Mansfield gives his time and excellent advice and suggestions. I’ve never been to a group like this one. I’ve waited a long time to make a change. All office crew I spoke to were very kind and respectful and helpful. My dog doesn’t easily go to anybody or allow to be picked up but she allowed Katie to do so. I’m so happy I was referred to them!

Took my puppy there for his first vet visit and they were great.

I understand about covid-19 restrictions but kinda wish I waited till it is lifted and can accompany my dog inside for her check up and shots

I previously posted a review with 5 stars because I truly felt both my receptionist and vet experience were great. Unfortunately this past Friday I had to call as we were very concerned our dog who had lymphoma might be suffering. The very kind receptionist said she advised watching her that day and if we needed to bring her in before her check that Monday to call and they would fit her in. Around 4 that afternoon we finally admitted to ourselves that she was suffering and we needed to bring her in to see if anything else could be done or if it was time to say goodbye this time I got a nasty short receptionist who informed me that what the earlier receptionist told me was not true no appointments could be made for the next day but I could always wait until or Monday appointment or go to a 24 hour vet. We were not about to let our dog suffer she gave us 13 good years. The lack of compassion from this receptionist really was a total shock to me after our previous experiences and I would not advise anyone not to go there but just be aware they may not be there when you really need them. But if you need a 24 hour Long Island Vet in Plainview was totally there for us and as kind as they could be in our circumstances.

The vets and the the staff are always amazing and helpful. They treat our pets as though they were their own. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

I have been using South Shore vet since I moved to the neighborhood 17 years ago. The staff is always friendly and professional and kind and supportive in the times that it’s necessary. I wouldn’t ever dream of switching.

I have used South Shore Animal Hospital for over 20 years and find the doctors there to be extremely knowledgeable, kind and compassionate. They have been very responsive to our needs and have accommodated us whenever we have had both routine and emergency situations with our cats. The staff is also lovely. We would not go anywhere else with our cats!

Took my dog here after a lack a diagnosis from an emergency vet when she had a seizure. Dr. Valentino was compassionate and truly cared. She came up with a diagnosis, and great treatment plan to improve the quality of life for my dog for the short time she had left. When the time came to let her go and put her to sleep, the entire staff was nothing short of incredible. They take care of everything and just allow you to focus on being with your pet and making sure they go peacefully. They just so apparently are invested in the animals and they understand the relationships. I would absolutely take any of my future pets here, and recommend anyone to take their pet here.
