My girlfriend and I were desperately in search for a trainer for our rowdy 4 month old catahoula leopard dog and came across Tom Devine at North Jersey K-9 solutions. We knew instantly that we had to bring our pup to him! Our dog, Paper, was trained to perfection. Tom truly showed us how to mentally stimulate our eager puppy’s needs. I wish that I could give Tom Devine 10 stars!!! I hired him to teach me how to use an E-collar appropriately on my Labrador puppy since I have never used that tool. I’m a veterinarian and wanted the absolute BEST trainer for my puppy. And lucky for us: I got him!! He went above and beyond in all of our training sessions and he was worth every single penny. He is truly an amazing dog trainer who knows dogs and my pup knew that he was the real deal! My puppy Zenna is the happiest and most well-behaved and trained dog that I have ever owned. Tom is A++++ excellent!! I recommend him a million percent!!!!

I recently adopted a rambunctious goldendoodle in November. She is 8 months now and I needed help controlling her as she is almost 50 lbs! After much research I came across Toms page. Tom, I could not thank you enough. Our Rotweiller, Gemma, is truly a great dog. She never had issues that were out of control and I mention this because Tom still was able to use his communication skills that assisted us in growing our relationship entirely. Tom is a wonderful dog trainer who truly puts his all into the dogs he trains. He told me from the beginning that he would only take on clients that he knew he could help, which really spoke to his honest nature. My dog went from reactive to anyone and anything to the well behaved good girl I knew she could be. This could not have been possible without Tom’s guidance, patience and humor to get through the tough spots. I’m now left with a more confident dog, more confident human, and the knowledge that good help is available if you know where to look. I cannot recommend Tom’s services enough!

Tom is fantastic! He is awesome with our puppy Remy. In just a short amount of time Remy learned so much from Tom (and had fun while doing it) and in turn so did we. Not only is he passionate, he is also extremely responsive and eager to answer any questions at any time of the day. Tom checks in regularly to see how Remy is doing and how training is progressing. I would definitely recommend Tom to help any dog and dog parent alike!

Tom was a great trainer to work with! Our dog, Brew, learned so much and I’m happy we decided to do the 6 week program. Tom doesn’t just train your dog, he teaches you how to communicate & train your dog as well. He was always available if we had any questions or concerns and was very knowledgeable about any situation we had. I would definitely recommend him!

We recently added a new member to our family. Doug our happy Golden doodle. While we are experienced dog owners, shortly after getting him we had a family member get sick. It took a lot of time away from Doug and the training he should have received. It is also the first dog we have owned where the kids (now 16 & 19) are active in trying to train a dog. We called Tom to help us all get on the same page. We were all doing something different and Doug is confused! We've had 1 session so far and by the end, Doug was much better at walking on a leash and we are working on the jumping and recall. We all have a lot of work ahead of us but Tom made it easy. He was patient and very knowledgeable. I see more sessions in our future! He has given us a lot of tools and suggestions on how to do whats best for Doug. Words cannot describe how grateful our family is to have met Tom and for all of the work he has done with our dogs. We first started working with Tom when we brought our second (yes second!!) puppy home. We were trying to integrate 2 puppies under 6 months old (a Lab and Shih Tzu) in 1 household. Tom gave us reassurance and additional tips and tricks to manage the household with 2 puppies. Our Lab went through the offleash training program that Tom has to offer and it is incredible how quickly she learned! Tom has the patience that you'd want in any dog trainer and is so extremely knowledgeable. He treated our dogs like they were his own and never rushed us through our sessions. Tom takes the time and really invests his energy into his clients and their success. During the timing of our offleash training, we were experiencing some territorial behavior issues with our Shih Tzu. If it wasn't for Tom, I don't know how we would have ever gotten our Shih Tzu to be where he is now. He is a completely better and different dog than he was. He listens better than any Shih Tzu I have ever met (especially being a stubborn breed)! If you are looking for a trainer who cares, who is knowledgeable, and who will invest the time into your dogs, you found the right person. Tom, thank you again for all that you have done for Dakota and Moose! We are forever grateful for you!!!

Tom came for a puppy consultation for our two young puppies Moose and Dakota. He was extremely helpful with providing us guidance on what we should start doing, continue doing and stop doing. He provided us helpful tips to making our lives and theirs even better. He didn’t rush us through our questions and listened to all of our concerns to ensure we felt comfortable.
