The absolute best in treating our beloved dog in a time of crisis. Dr. Hess & Dr. Rottstock were so compassionate and took amazing care of our dog until the end! Meghan at the front desk treated us with such genuine kindness and caring. The entire staff was exceptional and we will never forgot all the time they gave us and our dog. They made a painful process more bearable. If we ever get another dog - they will be our primary Vet. Truly the best! Many reviews are critical of cost here. With 24/7 full service availability when so many places cannot offer even basic veterinary care to their own clients, this place is a true godsend and well worth the transparent pricing for their wide range of services.

When our dog Koda quickly started declining and her regular vet would not get her in for 2 weeks we went to Green Acres. I can't say enough about Meghan and Dr. Hess. Meghan showed sympathy and love to not only us but to Koda after we had to make a tough decision. They did not rush us and gave all the time we needed to be with her in her last moments. I am so grateful for them and how they helped us through. Highly Recommend.

The staff was really great and informative. The prices are expensive (as to be expected with emergency medicine), and the team had alternate care options for me that were more within my budget. The veterinarian was very kind and explained everything well.

I hate having to write this especially since when I arrived at 8:30 pm the staff were over the top nice. It is now 2:30 am. 6 hours later I have yet to see or speak with a doctor. Was given no updates on my cat until I went up to ask about him. I fully understand some patients take precedence over others depending on severity, but people came after me and left before me with their pets in hand. I don’t even know what’s wrong with mine. No tests besides vitals have been done. I expected a wait of a couple of hours, but 6 with zero communication as to what is even wrong with him is not ok. All the receptionist could tell me was that he is napping. I am so upset and disappointed. I was finally put in a room after 4 hours in the waiting room and now I’ve been in here for 2 more hours. Hopefully I’ll be seen before my regular clinic opens in 6 more hours.

We brought our dog, Maggie to the Emergency Room at Green Acres. I want to make a public thank you and recommendation to the wonderful staff and doctors here. Thank you for the care and kindness the entire staff at the Emergency Room gave my dog Maggie, who was critically ill and is now doing better. I was very impressed with Colin at the front desk and every one of the doctors and techs who lovingly cared for her. We cannot thank you enough. The treatment plan and excellent care of Maggie helped her recover, thank goodness. We appreciate the kindness shown towards my husband and I in such a stressful and worrisome situation. We will never forget you all!

We brought our dog into the facility on New Year’s Eve. He was 10 years and like a child to my husband and I. From the minute we arrived onsite they had a bed waiting for him and two techs helping him into the facility. The doctor was extremely knowledgeable about the health of our dog. He ended up having cancer and other issues which caused him to crash very quickly while we were there. The staff was extremely professional and caring to the loss of our dog Friday night. I am forever grateful that our dog did not suffer and was in good hands. I am Glad I listened to the nurse and brought him In when we did. We received his paw print today and I cried of course. But it was so beautiful the way they made it special for my family. I have never dealt with an emergency clinic that actually cared.

Compassion? 0 Money grabbers? 1000% Save your wallet and go to West Side Pet Clinic where your baby will be actually CARED FOR instead of them just worrying how you are going to pay. Disgusting owners. I see how you were able to pay for the new addition. Oh, and by the way, stop charging people just to walk in the door. Vile humans. Do NOT COME TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT. There are so so many places elsewhere you can go. Message me on Facebook if you need any information on an affordable, loving, caring veterinarian. ????

The first time I’ve been here it wasn’t the best experience. But today they were absolutely amazing. One of my dogs got attacked by our cat pretty bad and they got us back to a room right away. For an emergency vet visit, PE exam, eye exam, two x-rays, rabies vaccine, eye ointment, and pain pills, it was under $1,000. Thank you so so so much! He should be better in no time!

We’ve been looking for a new vet and figured I’d try this place since it’s closest to home. We weren’t disappointed at all! Didn’t have to wait 3 months for an appointment like other places. Quick check in. We were in and out in less than 30 minutes. The new building looks awesome. Excited that we chose this place!

The good and the bad. Good: Their emergency building appears brand new. Very nice inside. We drove up from North Carolina visiting family For the holidays when our puppy became ill the day we got there. Had to bring him in Christmas morning. Staff was great and efficient. The doctor was very down to earth and we thought we had a good game plan in place. Brought back couple days later due to no improvement. X-rays worrisome for foreign body. Ended up driving home overnight for emergency surgery here in NC. Bad: NO RADIOLOGIST OFFICIAL READS ON X-RAYS! This is the first time I’ve ever had X-rays of any of my dogs that weren’t also reviewed electronically by a certified radiologist. Both trips and both Drs we saw only gave their own “wet read” of what they saw. I am a medical Provider and sorry, but at no time does an ER Provider read their own X-rays without a radiologist signing off w a final read. I say this bc the plan up at Green Acres was “possible FB, let’s do a 24hour barium study to confirm it”. I signed out AMA and we drove 12 hrs overnight home. Our ER Vet here in Raleigh downloaded the X-ray from up in NY and the radiologist immediately said he needs to go straight to surgery, worrisome finding of a linear foreign body on the X-rays. He ended up having perforated bowels, they had to cut out a section of it….I can’t imaging what would have happened if we had stayed in NY delaying a critical surgery bc he gets a 24hr barium study due to the Dr’s there not having a radiologist reviewing their xrays. Learn from my mistake and INSIST THEY HAVE A RADIOLOGIST REVIEW ALL IMAGING! My puppy likely would not have survived if we chose to stay there instead of coming home.

Loved the way they care for my lion head bunny. They provided me with a lot of information that I truly didn't know and thanks to them now I have more knowledge. Overall good place good and caring staff also really clean! Would recommend it

Do not go here for emergency ever they will take your money make you wait with your sick pet they only have one doctor on and these people are completely clueless all they want is your money not what’s best for your pet I had an awful experience here

My dear friend took her precious dog in after her vet hours as he was not feeling so well. She decide not to be selfish but let him go to heaven. We got there signed in and waited 2.5 hours . In the meantime he is not doing well we are all upset. Then the emergency room fills up with everyone suffering along with their pets. Not enough staff . It was like being in a nightmare. The only thing they cared about was charging more money before the suffering animals and their parents

We will forever be indebted to you for saving out kitten's life. If we weren't able to bring her to you for care late in the day on a holiday she would certainly have died. Your staff was very caring and empathetic and your team very responsive when we called for updates. Services were a little expensive to be sure and didn't love the late night call about the latest charge which I just learned about in the evening and planned to make first thing in the morning, but the result was very good.

The front line staff is wonderful- kind and caring. Down to 2 stars because they are extremely expensive. I will be seeking another vet for my cat.

Came here after a distressing event with my pet on a weekend. Given there were not many options available, naturally I was a little nervous bringing them here. I was put in a room right away and my pet taken for observation by the diligent staff. They gave insightful solutions and gave needed support and feedback to make the best next step for me and my pet.

Clean and friendly environment. Knowledgeable staff. I greatly appreciated that even though there was going to be a wait for her to be examined and treated, they took my dog asap and gave her pain meds as she had fallen down the stairs and was in obvious distress.

ONE STAR IS FAR TOO MUCH CREDIT FOR THIS PLACE!!! We were referred by another clinic that was at capacity and called 2 days in a row to only be told they were either at capacity or had 4+ hour wait times, after things took a turn for the worst for our dog we went in anyways willing to wait the hours. Upon walking in the lobby was EMPTY , absolutely no one (so why say 4+hours to wait) . We were charged $150 just to walk in and another $752 for spotty X-rays and blood work just to be told we can get better images with 2 more X-rays costing $300 more. Once we established that it was not necessary for 2 more X-rays they then told us that we were NOT allowed to take our dog home due to his condition and they proceeded to tell us it was anywhere between $6400-$9000 to stay in the clinic for 2 days (and couldn’t ensure that he would get any better) before we discuss quality of life. When we disagreed they Then charged us $865 to put our dog down and leave empty handed . We were given the run around for HOURS and ended up having to leave without our pet . HANDS DOWN THE WORST PLACE EVER, all they care about is money and NOT the care for your pet. They will try to squeeze every dollar they can for services that are not needed.

I waited 11 hours for an X Ray for my dog, paid over $2,000 and got no answers! Throughout the 11 hours the only communication I received from Green Acres was to tell me how much money I owed. When I picked up my dog after his X Ray, Valerie refused to answer any questions I had and would not let me talk to the Vet after spending over $2,000!!! She told me that I was supposed to take my dog to Orchard Park for a second opinion and that I had to take him directly there to spend the night. He was stable and had been stable for a month living with his injury. I pleaded with Valerie to bring him the next morning instead, but she yelled that I had to bring him now and he had to spend the night. I got off the phone with Green Acres and called Orchard Park. They told me that they never said that he had to spend the night and that Valerie was lying. I left Green Acres with no paperwork and no receipt. They have still not provided with me with paperwork documenting their findings from the X Ray. I have never felt so disrespected in my entire life and I truly feel that they do not care at all about animals. Zero Compassion and Awful Communication. Update: I have been to 3 other Vets which have all said that the X rays are unreadable and blurry. Green Acres sent out the X rays for a third party opinion. But I am still waiting for written notice of if the X Rays are clear.

My sweet dog was having a hard time breathing. Staff took him back as soon as I arrived. After medication and some oxygen he was improved and I was able to take care of him at home. Everyone was very nice, attentive and professional. There was genuine concern for my pet.

The emergency care provided my Shih Tzu, Baxter, was exceptional although a little high priced. When I ask for a military discount, I was told they do honor it but not for ER services only scheduled appointments. As a vet on a fixed income it would be of a much greater help if it were applied to ER services. I can budget for expected services but when an ER visit just cost me $1000 that was unexpected, the military discount would have made much better sense. Please review and change this policy!

Overall the visit was ok considering it was an ER visit. We were at the hospital for almost 5 hours which was unexpected. Reception was very friendly but told everyone waiting they were next to be seen (which obviously was not true). The male vet tech who initially saw our cat had us concerned when he told us we mislabeled our cats gender on the intake form. What made it alarming was that we brought our cat in for a bloody urine issue so I would assume a preliminary exam would include checking out the cats genitalia. The vet who saw my cat was excellent. Thoroughly explained the issues and our options and was so patient with all of our questions as we decided what we felt was best for our fur baby. I could tell he had a lot of experience and that put me at ease.
