I didn't have an appointment but decided to try and get my dog's nails trimmed and a vaccination. They were able to take her in and we were done in about 15mins. They were very friendly and professional as well.

I tried so hard to like this place but nope. My dog is having more allergic reaction after I switched to the food they recommended. When I asked why that happened, vet tech named Michael said it’s not due to the food. It’s just environmental allergy. And he said I should just come back and repeat the treatment for her. I stopped walking her since her allergy got worse and I’ve been living in this apartment for years. Nothing has changed for her but the food. Honestly, Michael didn’t seem to care about what I had to say. It’s all good. You just lost a customer. NOT GOING BACK and I DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Really expensive. And they did the surprise theres this extra medicine we forgot to tell you before that your dog needs. I spent almost 500 dollars and they didn't have the decency to wipe the charcoal off my dog that THEY gave to her. She was dirtier leaving than coming in. Not going back here. I couldn't even be with her while she was being examined. This just increases my anxiety in a already stressful and anxious situation (my dog is sick and needs help). They also want to charge me twice for a bloodwork, when other vets would only charge once to do it twice (as in a check up). Do not go here.

This vet's main focus is to get the most money out of you instead of addressing the health of your pet. Steer clear from this place or learn the hard way.

My cat and I have been going to Skillman Animal Clinic Vet for over a year. Alex at the front is welcoming and responsive. The staff seem nice as well, however like some of the other reviews, I too was ups-old on a shot that I didn’t not ask for. After bringing up this as a complaint, we were able to settle on an agreement, but I do have some concerns about the communication when it comes to charges. I strongly recommend that you clarify all-charges before handing over your pet. This seems to be a common complaint and frankly, the only negative complaint. The office spaces are clean. They are able to get us in on short notice, all positive things. But at the end of the day, there are too many options t in the city to not look for competitive prices. All in all, my cat and i will be attending Skillman Animal Clinic in the future, but will be aware of prices beforehand.

Share review Embed review Write an update Edit review 7/9/2020 I have been bringing my two dogs and cat here for 4 years. I find them to be very compassionate and thorough in both their treatment and diagnoses. They're also very accommodating, teach you how to clean ears and brush teeth and they were very patient with my cat who is a literal monster at the vet. I recommend them!

Long wait! Impossible to know what they are really doing inside. They prescribed antibiotics to all the pets that visited the clinic that day. Eye problem.. antibiotics. Stomach problem antibiotics. Skin problem.. antibiotics. Unnecessary X rays. I don't recommend them. They don't care about the animals. They just want the you to pay the highest possible. Hard sale pitches to frighten owners with urgent procedures.

I own a very playful and active Havenese-Shihzu who, unfortunately, always gets herself into trouble and is prone vet visits due to her congenital issues. We has concerns with our previous veterinary clinic because Chewie, my pup, always found herself having to return to the clinic because her quality of treatment was either poor or incorrectly diagnosed. We've decided to switch over Skillman, and Dr. Tadros was able to confidently pinpoint and educate us on Chewie's conditions and treat her. It has been a year since we switched, and we have had my pups treated for ear and paw infections, seasonal allergies, minor parasites, teeth cleaning, and nutritional consults. From my experience, the staff is educated, responsive, and respectful. Very grateful.

I am so thankful that I was able to take my dog to Skillman Animal Clinic in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. The staff is incredibly kind and genuine and they are all there for the same mission of helping your pet. My experience was just incredible, and they put me at ease every step of the way. When I took my dog in, he needed a blood test to see if he had any underlying conditions before starting his treatment. One of his tests came back high, and the doctor provided step by step instructions of how he was going to help and how were were going to get my dog to full health. It was so nerve-racking at the time since this was the first time I had taken my dog to the vet for a serious issue. I followed the instructions, gave my dog his medicine, and a week later he was retested and all of his tests came back clean. The doctor walked into the room with a smile on his face (I was able to see the smile despite the surgical mask he was wearing) and a thumbs up saying my dog was ready to go. On top of the absolute professionalism the entire staff shows at all times, Skillman Animal Clinic is also very reasonably priced for a vets office in New York City. All in all, my dog underwent 3 visits and received full bloodwork, additional chemistry profile, a few other tests, anti-biotics, pain meds, Azodyl for renal function, teeth and gum supplement, and a tooth extraction for 3 teeth and cleaning. The total cost of all of these visits was roughly $1,300. Based on several google searches and hours of research, the tooth extraction procedure alone could have cost $1k. Not to mention the plethora of discounts and throw-ins I was given. Another thing I appreciate about this vet is their transparency. I recently left another vet after trying to get a prescription filled through an online pharmacy. The other vet would not confirm the prescription and required me to pick it up and mail it to the pharmacy. I was very dissatisfied with that policy. Skillman animal clinic does have the same policy, but the are incredibly transparent to the fact that one of the first signs you see at the front desk is this policy in bold text and plenty of highlighted text. While I disagree with the policy, I understand that vets that have their own internal pharmacy typically follow this same policy and I appreciate how clear and transparent they are about it. It sets your expectations and that goes a long way. I can't give enough thanks and appreciate to the entire team.

Not sure. Its one of the most expensive per clinic ever. Didn’t see any improvement on the scar of my cat. He is still bleeding. And it cost me around 300 dollars. The collar they gave to cat( i paid for it) was way too big. My cat cant see cant eat cant walk with that things on his neck.

Terrible covid precautions. No mask enforcement and a woman was sitting next to me in the waiting room who was clearly sick and the staff did absolutely nothing.

I think this is a good clinic and I trust the doctor and employees with my dog! They are professional and friendly and listen to your concerns. Yes, it is expensive, but every animal clinic is. Everything is done in agreement and I don’t think they’re trying to raise the bills! I have also been able to make same day appointments without issues.

This establishment is very clean, the techs are very friendly and efficient. My dog, Goldfish had diarrhea and was throwing up the night before and I was very worried about him. I brought him in to see Dr.Tadros and he was very thorough with the diagnostics and treatment plan. Three days into the treatment, all of Goldfish's problems were gone and I couldn't be happier with this Vet. I saw some people concerned about prices when I looked at the reviews before coming, but considering the work that was done on him it was much cheaper than other Vets I went to in the area and in Astoria. It feels like other places I've been to usually just offer the minimum and try to get me out of the door. If you want your pet to be CURED instead of having to come to the Vet 4-5 times this is the place for you.

I thought I was loosing Sharpie (my precious Husky). Suddenly, Sharpie was showing alarming symptoms: vomiting blood and diarrhea. He was also pale and lethargic. It was the scariest experience in my life. I rushed him to Skillman Animal Clinic where he and I got the staff’s attention from the first few minutes. Staff was so nice and accommodating. They were super organized and friendly. Dr. Tadros’ examination was thorough. Dr. Tadros was very compassionate and understanding. The next day, my Sharpie started gradually to get back to his normal self. Within about two days; Sharpie was back to his normal energetic. Self. Thank you... Thank you... Thank you Dr. Tadros! You Saved My Sharpie.

I rarely, if ever, write reviews. But Skillman Animal Clinic truly deserves a 5 star review. I recently took my dog for a teeth cleaning (which is always nerve wracking with the anesthesia use) and a checkup. The information and attention to detail we received was incredible. Dr. Tadros was very informative and didn’t go nuts with unnecessary costly tests. He made sure we only received tests and bloodwork for for services that we absolutely needed, not like other costly clinics that want to run up a bill. The entire staff was polite and helpful. Would highly recommend bringing your furry child here.

I wish I could give no stars but that wasn’t an option! ABSOLUTELY NO STARS!!!!! Do not take your animal here. I am completely disgusted at the way this vet operates. All he does is up charge and get angry and loses his temper When you are unwilling to pay for jacked up prices on antibiotic shots. I brought my frenchie here 3 times, with the same ongoing condition. He receives the same treatment Every time so Sometimes I have most of his meds. When I didn’t need new prescriptions of certain meds he tried selling me an even more expensive treatment. When I refused he lost his temper and stormed out of the room. He then proceeded to give him only one of his two regular shots and stormed out of the room again. To make matters worse he tried charging me $95 dollars for a shot that cost $65 dollars two months ago. The only nice thing about the place is the guy at the front desk, Alex. I will never go back, I advise you if you are looking for a vet look else where.
