The Groom Room Staten Island, New York

Extremely disappointed for the second time at the groom room. The first time our dog went he was given a bald spot, things happen honest mistake it grows back. We decided to give them another chance today and of course when I'm home we discover an open wound under his leg near his groin area. When I asked the female Amanda about this she said oh he scratched himself, then it became, well it was a scab that he must have reopened. My dog is very happy and playful his favorite cuddle position is on his back so we can rub his stomach, which he did prior to us dropping him off. He had NO scratches or wounds. To say I'm disappointed alone is an understatement, our dog is family and he wasn't treated with the care we thought he deserved. After calling again to speak to the manager Samantha & get the names she did offer to personally groom him next time and talk to her employee but as I stated to her I'm not sure I feel comfortable because this is now TWO separate instances. If I decide to take him again and have better experiences I will gladly make sure to write another review.

I've been using them for a good 15 years.. they listen to you they give you advice and they love your pets

Excellent place to bring your dog. Brought my wild and shaggy 15 week Aussie/Poodle mix in and he came out looking like a brand new dog, he smelled great and had a new bandana on! The staff were friendly, they had a nice selection of pet supplies also. Can't wait to go back

took my puppy to get his nails trimmed after i found that his nail on the back right foot had gotten swollen and infected

My dog has been going there for years. Every holiday they put a cute scarf to match. My dog gets excited about going. Everyone is super friendly! I highly recommend this place 5 stars for sure

They take great care of your dog. My dog is very nervous and difficult to handle. When I leave her there she is fine. They give her a great haircut.

If I could give it 0 stars I would. Brought my dog to get his nails cut, now he's bleeding everywhere and there's almost no nails left at all except for the ones they completely forgot to cut. If you love your dog find somewhere else to go, they're trash.

This place is great, I have been taking my puppy Madison here since I got her. I had tried other pet salons on the island, and was not happy with the service or the results. Sam is great, always does exactly what I ask and my Madison always looks and smells great. Staff is friendly and always accommodating.

I took my cat and my quinea pig for nail trim and was very satisfied with service and price. I highly recommend!

Not a fan. This place doesn't check vaccine records of the pets they take in, beware. Who knows what they're exposing your pet too with possible other unvaccinated dogs and animals being brought in.

I would leave zero stars if that was an option. The ladies that were there were nice as individuals, however, that's not where my issue is with this business. I was charged $65 to have my medium sized dog (roughly 55 lbs) bathed, brushed, ears cleaned and nails clipped. When I went to pick my dog up they said they couldn't clean her ears or clip her nails because she was fighting them the whole time. My dog, strong as she is, is docile as can be. And if this is the service you provide on a daily basis you're telling me you're not good enough to soothe a 55 lb dog enough to clean her ears and clip her nails??? This says something about the level of service they are offering here. To add insult to injury, I was not even offered a discount to the bill since they didn't provide half the services included in the price I was paying for. Something else to note, While I was checking my pup in and waiting in the front area they had a walk in come in for a dog grooming who had never been there before based on the questions they asked the pet owner. They took the owners call back info asked them what they wanted done, took dog in and said they'd call them when ready. What they failed to do was ask for any records of vaccinations to make sure the dog was healthy enough to be around other peoples pets. By not having them provide that info puts everyone else pet at risk for sickness and disease, in the event that dog was not vaccinated. I have no clue what the law requires a dog grooming business to verify but any place I have been to on the island has always required proof of vaccinations. Needless to say we will not be returning to The Groom Room.

Brought our dog in for bath and trim, told them not to shave her and just clean her up. THE GROOM ROOM shaved her and then blamed us saying that we told them to do the usual, basically calling me a liar. Then the owner, Christie, refused to refund our payment even though it wasn’t the service we requested. DO NOT GO THERE EVER!

It's the best place to bring your pet to be groomed with experience and Love. ????

They take good care of my Snoopy, a little dog who is poodle and shi pu.

We have been taking taking our dogs Buddy and Daisy for years. The staff at the Groom Room have always been a pleasure to work with, no matter how cranky our dogs might be. Daisy says you should ask for Sam.
