If I could give more than a five star review I would. We brought our dog here for 11 years and the staff were always amazing. But no more so than when we had to make the difficult decision to euthanize her. The staff cried alongside of us and were incredibly gracious and supportive. They helped make a very difficult time a little bit easier for us.

I can’t speak highly enough about Rippowam. They are the definition of quality care. They took care of our senior lab as though she was their own. We adopted her when she was older, relocated and they only worked with her for about 2 years. Every single time, they provided the most empathetic and quality care. Our girl, Delilah, recently passed and their approach/attentiveness made the process hurt just a little less. I am so thankful for them and their compassionate doctors and techs. I remember being so afraid to go somewhere new- I felt compelled to write this review In hopes to reduce any fear/anxiety you may have. I would recommend rippowam 1000x over. Thank you all again for your love and compassion. We couldn’t have survived this process without you.

Best service ever, every doctor this vet offic has is professional and helpful they plan everything out for treatment of chronic issues that your dog may have and make it easy to understand treatments and medications. Vetinary help is always going to have a high expense but it's worth the service here so it's a price tag that makes sense, the prescriptions have never been wrong and have always helped. I will always rely on the staff of this hospital with my dogs medical care. If you truly want your dogs to be healthy these wonderful people know what they are doing and can help you.

I have two cats and dog. We all live all around Fairfield county. This hospital is the best. Now I have to drive more than hour and a half but it worth it. My small friends love the place and EVERYONE working there. Thanks to all of you!

Rippowam has been our primary vet since we got our rescue as a puppy and they have always provided top care. She recently got spayed and recovered beautifully. Highly recommend them!

Rippowam Animal Hospital should get 10 stars. The front desk staff is friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. The medical staff go out of their way to make our dog comfortable. Dr. Shutts is so caring, knowledgeable and thorough.

Amazing! We could not have chosen a better place to take Our Max, who had a very bad ACL tear. The staff is great and Dr Lazarus is amazing! I couldn’t believe how soon he was putting pressure on his leg after surgery. Their prices are so much better than Shoreline near us, literally half the price! I will never take Max to another vet/hospital.

We lost our beautiful Golden Retriever Mocha yesterday, October 29th. She would have been 12 on Dec. 2ᴺᴰ. It's difficult to put into words the magnitude of compassion and care we received from Dr. Lazarus and the staff at Rippowam. Mocha had emergency surgery on August 27th after an extensive exam. Her appetite had been diminishing in recent days. Ultrasound and x-rays revealed a tumor on her spleen. Both her tumor and spleen were removed in the same morning. The results of her bloodwork indicated hemangiosarcoma, a non-curable vascular cancer. We elected to not go the route of chemo' because of her age. She survived two months after the surgery, which we knew could be the case. We went the Turkey Tail and ip6 with inositol route which I shared with Dr. Lazarus. We were religious about administering the two. Dr. Lazarus was respectfully honest, letting us know such treatment was likely anecdotal. In the end we don't believe either product helped her. To be blunt, there is no good scientific evidence to support their uses. I did my own extensive research, spending hours looking up case studies. The problem is that most studies revolve around a very small number of “participants.” We also took her off her daily fish oil as she was bleeding internally. Yunnan Baiyao may have helped with her internal bleeding. One thing I want to mention: Do your reading re. ip6 with inositol. Once we knew she was bleeding internally we took her off it. In one place I read it may have some anti-blood clotting effect. I’m not certain of anything. We set her free yesterday, October 29th, as she was having difficulty standing. Her quality of life had been diminishing over the past few days. The collective compassion from the Rippowam staff, including Danielle and Dr. Lazarus was deeply heartfelt. I don't believe I've ever had a doctor with such compassion, and who communicated as well. We've been with Rippowam for close to twenty years. We can’t imagine going anywhere else.

We’ve been bringing our pup here since his first vet exam after we brought him home. They definitely seem popular (the parking lot is full every time I bring my dog by), but I’ve found that they always come out and grab my dog promptly at my appointment time. The Vets and Techs that I’ve interacted with are always very friendly and kind to me and our pup. I’ve appreciated too that the vet has been honest with me about what shots or treatment my dog needed vs. what might be a excessive/not necessary- I never feel like I’m being oversold or pushed on something. My dog is always happy to visit, which I think is telling!

This year I am happy to say that I am a returning customer. We have a new puppy, my late dog was treated in Rippowam, I would not trust anyone else with the health of my new puppy.

This place is super amazing. They did not try to overcharge me or pressure me to get unnecessary things for my pet.

Dr. Lazarus and his team have been taking care of our Labradoodle for 13 years. They have offered consistently excellent experiences, with helpful, sincere, and educational Vet care. They honestly care about our animals’ welfare. We particularly appreciate that Rippowam’s primary philosophy doesn't seem to be performing a “cashectomy” (procedure to remove all the cash from the customers wallet). We really respect Dr. Lazarus and his team’s level of expertise and care. Highly recommended.
