They were trying to charge me $450 before they knew what was wrong with my kitten. They swore he had a dislocated shoulder that was causing his limping but it ended up being a fracture in his arm. The staff then proceeded to tell me there’s nothing they can do for him. Waste of time and money!

I love this place! They treated my puppy with up most care, ensuring he felt safe and comfortable. He was scared meeting new people but when he came back out, he was tail wagging and happy!

I can't say enough about this place! The staff is incredible, Dr. Mintzer is amazing! My cat got out and was bit by another cat in the leg. My vet, (the only one I trusted) was not able to see him so they referred me here and I am so thankful they did! My cat had a couple of different issues due to this bite but the Doctor and the staff were always there to help! Camo and my family cannot thank you enough!! We highly recommend Dr.Mintzer and the Hyde park staff! Although I'm not too sure Camo wants to come visit again anytime soon! ????

I walked in with my hamster on her death bed and there was still hope so i asked to see a vet as an emergency but the lady at the front desk gave me a rude look and instead of even responding to me she answered her phone and ignored me. highly don’t recommend. would never go here again even if it was the last vet in the world and my dog was dying.

I've now had the pleasure of bringing two of my animals to Hyde Park Animal hospital. From dogs to bearded dragons, the doctors are knowledgeable, efficient, kind, and attentative to you and your pet. They give you the courtesy of coming out to speak with you masked face to masked face in these trying times. They have wonderful assistants and incredibly helpful receptionists there to walk you through the process from start to finish. A strong highlight is knowing you're not spending an arm an a leg when you pull into your parking space for an appointment too. I will definitely be bringing the whole pack here. Thank you Hyde Park Animal hospital.

The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful! I called and they got me an appointment right away. They were incredibly helpful educating me on how to help my new kitten when she wasn’t feeling well. The staff all followed Covid precautions. When they first saw my kitten they made sure she felt safe and comfortable. They kept telling me how sweet and cute she was. The staff was so warm and welcoming, I cannot stress that enough! Everyone that works here really loves animals. I would highly recommend this place.

Brought in my 2.5 year old ball python because he wasn't eating. Staff was very friendly and thorough. The woman came out to me and explained everything my snake was going through and reassured me that in a short period of time my snake would be back to his usual self. I was worried my snake would be stressed after the exam but he was actually quite content and stayed out of his hide for some time afterwards. I was very pleased at how quickly they got him an appointment and took good care of him. Would recommend.

These folks go above and beyond for me and my fur buddy. I'm so happy to have discovered these guys and ladies here. It really does amaze me how much care and compassion they show all the animals and owners. Thank you for all you folks do.

I first met the doctor and his lovely staff a few years back when he saved the a stray cat I was caring for. I have since used him for regular routine visits. I recently went to him because my one cat has skin issues oh, and he was very sweet but he gently scolded me because my fatty cat is a little overweight. Some vets I have seen in the past have really made me feel horrible about it, but he was very sweet about it but stern. I just think he and his staff are the most wonderful people and we will be using him for the rest of our animals lives..

I brought my doggy here when he was in a lot of pain and I was scared something could happen. No one else would take him, and they accommodated me and asked me to bring him in that day! I should also say this place was recommended to me by a coworker, and I’m very thankful she did.The staff was really friendly over the phone and in person. The vet was also really reassuring. He came out to talk to me and I think he could tell how worried I was, but made sure to reassure me everything would be okay. A few days later and my doggy (Copper) is doing so much better. Thank you so much! Definitely bringing Copper back for his physicals and all his needs. Thank you to Dr. Mintzer & his friendly staff ❤️

I made an appointment for my bearded dragon, to be seen it was $85, I said I just wanted a basic check up, my dragon had been laying eggs over the last few months and I wanted to make sure she is healthy. I was verbally told “she looks heathy”. Which she does, thank you for sharing what I could see as well. A probiotic was given, n said it won’t hurt her... (so my question is did she rlly need it?) they took a fecal sample as well, per my request. They also did an X-ray, not once did they discuss prices with me or inform me there would be an additional charge. When I asked for the print out, them alrdy having preformed the X-ray, I was told their printer is broken, they’ll have to email it to me. (Okay, did you even do it?). I was told that there doesn’t seem to be any eggs in her...(yes I know she’s not pregnant. I said she had alrdy been & laid 100 eggs in 3 months) so again why did we do an X-ray? The fecal sample results were due to come on the next day, I received no call, and no email of X-ray ... I called today, 5 days later and was informed the fecal sample was negative. I asked about emailed X-ray, and the receptionist then asked for my email... you didn’t alrdy have it on file? Why was I previously told the X-ray would be emailed to me??? To add insult to injury, the vet tech that returned my dragon to me, grabbed my dragon around her torso and pulled. Clearly never having handled a dragon before which she had stated when I gave my dragon to her. ... why are we having inexperienced vet techs handle any pet without being properly educated on how to handle, hold or tend to them?? Over all I am and was very displeased with the service, lack of professionalism and care that was received by this facility.

Vet is friendly and knowledgeable. They saw my pet within a reasonable amount of time after our appointment time. The reason I won’t recommend them is because they say they’ll call you back, AND THEY DON’T. We had an appointment Saturday. By Tuesday I hadn’t heard anything back regarding a test we did, so I called. They said the vet tech was out and would call me back Wednesday. I hadn’t heard anything so I called back Wednesday mid-day. They claimed test results were clear but the vet would call me back. By Saturday (a week later from our appointment) I STILL haven’t heard anything back so I called again. Now I get the same vet tech on the phone who seems to be entirely confused and guess what, “I’ll call you back”. We had our first & last visit with them. I’ll be going elsewhere in the future.

If I could give them more stars I would. During a very scary time my puppy Cheyenne got real sick. They seen her very quick and did not turn us away. I probably called them every 5 minutes cause I was so scared that my puppy was going to die . They where kind n thoughtful n professional. Kept me updated on how she was doing. Dr. Drozenski even went back in that night cause she diwas still restless. During this covid corona virus they truly r unsung heroes. I would recommend them to everyone. It wasn't about money with them. I can't say enough about them. We r going to b life time patients with them. We love you n so very grateful to them. Love ???? Cheyenne & mom

We found this veterinarians office when our old 18 year old pup became sick. The vet we used wouldn’t squeeze us in without a emergency fee. We came to Hyde Park Animal Hospital and they got us in right away and took such good care of our dog. They really care about the animals and we’re so happy that we found them.

Such a great doctor. My 13 year old had severe congestion for the 3rd time in a year and had been through 2 rounds of antibiotics, but it kept coming back and took forever for the symptoms to alleviate. Doc suggested stopping antibiotics this time and going with a decongestant and vitamin paste. Within an hour she was clear by the next day she was bright eyed and happy to be breathing normally.

We have three newly adopted kittens who unfortunately were given to us sick. We made an appointment to see Dr Mintzer and he was AWESOME with a capital A!! Not only did he address our issues with our new kittens but he also went above and beyond to research how we can effectively disinfect our home and keep our kids safe from what the kittens had. He took his time and explained everything to us so we understood everything before he even did it. No Vet has ever done that for us before. As for cost, he is worth every penny. When I made the appointment I simply asked and the receptionist was great in answering my financial questions over the phone prior to us coming in so I was even more comfortable making the appointment because I knew what to expect more or less. I love Dr Mintzer and the entire staff. Everyone was awesome and knowledgeable and just overall welcoming. I am so glad I brought my new fur babies here, my search for a vet is over, we found home. Dr Mintzer wants only the best for your pets, it shows in his chairside manner and in his follow up phone calls. Thank you Dr Mintzer and all the wonderful ladies there for your overall help and care, see you guys in a few weeks!!!

Staff was very nice and I did receive a prompt follow up with my pet's diagnosis. However, I did not appreciate that I was not told the costs of treatment up front while at the office. I had even called prior to my pet's appointment to ask for rates before I decided to bring my pet here. I was under the impression that a specific test used to diagnose my pet's ailment would be included in the visit charge and was not told otherwise. I was simply told to wait in the waiting room while the test was performed. I was very concerned about my pet and now while reflecting back, I feel as though I was fooled into allowing this test to be performed. I was told that I must pay costs up front and was very shocked when I received my bill at the end of the apointment since I did not receive prior communication that this specific test would cost extra. If I new the cost, I would not have agreed. Luckily I was able to pay this bill at this time, but but I feel as though it would be difficult to afford if you (like myself) were not expecting additional costs. I left this office paying an astronomical fee both without treatment or an answer for my pet's illness. When I received follow up from the doctor, he explained my pet's diagnosis but then proceeded to bluntly tell me that my boyfriend's previous review needed to be deleted. He had told me that the staff checked their patient records for my boyfriend's name and when they did not find anything, they looked him up on Facebook and realized his relation to me.. this made me feel very violated and concerned. On top of that, my original concern was never addressed, but I was demanded to remove the previous negative review and also without compensation, which I feel is very unprofessional. Unfortunately due to this, I will not reccomend anyone to this animal hospital.
