After having a terrible experience at a different vet due to Covid, we were skeptical about bringing our dog to another vet. This couldn’t have been a better experience. We have an Amstaff so his look can be intimidating. The staff was great with him and overall a great experience. Dr. Femino was so knowledgeable and thorough. I would definitely continue his care at the smithtown village animal hospital. Thank you all!

They are horrible .I would stay away. My dog had to go to a emergency care. The next day they stated they wouldn't see my dog because it went somewhere else. Makes no sense. They clearly don't care about animals

The whole staff is very helpful, Dr Femino was wonderful in explaining everything we needed to do to keep our cat Jazz safe and healthy in regards to booster shots and what the right diet for her would be. Highly recommend.

My daughter referred me to Smithtown Village Animal Hospital. They are wonderful. Dr Claudine is so gentle and kind. She is also very knowledgeable. I have been bringing my Newfoundland there for several years now and she has always been straightforward with me, she helped me change to a better food because Merlyns food was on the list for causing heart problems. Well visits are very pleasant-Merlyn loves to go. Even when he has a problem or I think he does, Dr Claudine diagnoses and treats the issue at hand. No problems. And when he’s fine she kindly reassured me, -no his teeth are fine, he doesn’t need a cleaning yet- I think she’s great, so does Merlyn. I highly recommend Smithtown Village Animal Hospital for excellent pet care you can trust.

Been coming here since 2000. They are exceptional in their knowledge and they are so welcoming. I have never had any doubts about the care that my pets receive. They answer all of my questions, even the silly ones. It's easy to tell that the veterinarians have a true passion for animal Care. I worked at a different animal hospital and still continued to bring my pets here as they know my pets and family very well and I wouldn't trade this practice for anything!

After years of satisfaction with Dr. Femino I am saddened by the irresponsibility of this office. Blood work results which were urgent came back only to be disregarded. I took my dog a few days later to an emergency clinic only for him to be admitted for 2 days on a constant drip. At BluePearl they administered on the spot blood work which showed there was no way this was brought on in only the passed 2 days. The levels were so low he was in danger of dying. This practice also administered medication at a dosage so high it made my dog drowsy and lathargic. I was told this medicine shouldn’t do any of that by the very doctor who gave it to him. The dog’s levels were so low and she gave him a dosage so high he could barely stand (I only gave it to him once at the dosage she recommended) but I wasn’t informed of any side effects when I asked for them. I learned by my emergency vet one major effect is vomiting. So they gave a 3 lbs dog with dangerously low glucose a pain reliever which side effect is throwing up, with absolutely no testing. While my dog was getting properly treated in a reliable hospital I had to call to ask for the results of the test. The response was the doctor will call you tomorrow. Tomorrow ? My dog is on it’s death bed and you’ll call me tomorrow? Lovely. Not to mention this same doctor told me years ago my dog needed a very invasive hip surgery which the never ended up needing. These personal situations have made me believe she wants to milk people for their money as they are in vulnerable situations and she is taking advantage of this.
