I rushed my Sudsie Marie here after I suspected that she may have eaten part of her ceramic bowl and had cut her gum and vomited blood. I called 2 other emergency vets explaining the situation and both said I may have to wait. The …

Went in on December 24th for my pit, the girls I spoke to were so sweet and they did absolutely nothing wrong, it wasn’t until the doctor called me, I don’t know what his name was but you can tell he really didn’t care about my dog, her blood work came back and everything was within the normal limits WNL and this doctor tells me she needs scans and he won’t prescribe her anything without the scans, he said she hurt her back and needs to see if she has any tumors and nothing AT ALL made any sense! I knew the problem with my dog was her paws! I took my dog to a different vet and this doctor examined my dog the RIGHT WAY. My dog had skin disease, paw pads were infected and prescribed my baby girl with antibiotics, steroids and a cream for the skin. Don’t bother going to this location if you want your dog properly examined. I’m so disappointed and disgusted with how they could of missed this.

This 24x7 clinic is a blessing for pet lovers in central Suffolk who find themselves in a bind during "off hours." The staff is knowledgable and caring. They have very difficult jobs, which they handle with professionalism and compassion. We're grateful for their services!

Went to Selden Animal Hospital because my dog was bit by another dog and was bleeding profusely. After waiting for two hours in the car I called again and they told me I was number 25 on the list of dogs to be seen and I needed to continue to wait until they called me. We ended up driving to another animal ER and they took us right in. It's a few days later and Selden still hasn't called me to come in from the parking lot! The receptionist was extremely rude to me, as well. Thank goodness I didn't leave my precious pup's care in their hands. If you are having an emergency don't go here!

Horrible clueless, been there a couple times. Gave my dog medicine that made her shut down and stop eating.

Our Shitzu began choking on a Greenie chew on Christmas night so we rushed him to AES. He was able to dislodge the object as we arrived at the vet. The staff at AES took him in and examined him immediately upon arrival. We can’t thank the team enough for their professionalism.

Had to bring my kitten last night for vomiting and not eating. I'm finishing cancer treatment myself and Beanie has been my furry support system so if she sneezes funny i get worried lol. From the sweet receptionist (I'm sorry i forgot your name - NYBC hoodie- but you're a rockstar!) the tech who took her in, to the doctor that treated Beanie everyone was so kind and understanding and explained everything thoroughly before any treatment. Thank you all for being you!

Brought dog in for potential blockage. $950 cost. Was presented 2 options and was told if money is an issue for the more expensive one, THEY recommend going with the second less expensive option. BTW if you chose neither were going to need you too sign a form called AMA.(Against medical advice)”too protect us from liability.” At this point i felt like a criminal.(I’d already paid $775 when this was said to me)I Ask to speak to the VET as these options were presented by her WITHOUT her OPINION on what to do. Just options for me too chose was told “no” she’s busy. Expenses of the FIRST bill presented to me for diagnoses before they presented me TWO options on treatment was for X-rays, hospital exam fee and was told he needed a sedative as my English bulldog is just too hyper they cannot deal. He received X-rays on or about 7 hours ago. My dog looks like he just got back from Vietnam with a bad habit. Just slouching almost unable to hold his body weight. My opinion, not great vets seem inexperienced.

Animal emergency service was great and got my dog in very quickly when he needed it most. John, Sierra, and Dr. Loudon were extremely helpful, and definitely calmed me along with my dog! They were very informative and professional. I would highly recommend.

This place is horrible. No compassion and charges TOP dollar for everything. I don't mind paying when it comes to my animals either. The girls at the front desk are nasty. If I could rate 0 stars I would.

I would never go back here!!!! Or recommend anyone to bring there pet here!!!! We took our dog on a Sunday for his skin issue and was told it would be a little wait then 2 1/2 hours later they took him in only to put him in a cage and left there to tend to every other animal that just came in ! We kept on getting pushed back until I called and asked when or if he was seen and the rude women on the phone said no he hasn’t and it would be a couple of more hours… we had to leave with him untreated and not knowing what to do or what was going on with him!!!! Never again!!!!!!!

I took my dog here on a Friday afternoon, waited 2 hours to be seen, they took her in I couldn’t go with her, I called an hour later they told me she is in a kennel because 2 emergencies that came in had to be seen before my dog. I called an hour later again, my dog was still not seen, I told them had I known they were going to stick her in a kennel for 2 hours I would have kept her with me, they said she’s next to be seen. I called 45 minutes later, still not seen! I told them I’m coming to get her to keep her outside because she was suffering from a UTI and Diarrhea and she was going to the bathroom every 30 minutes, they said she hadn’t gone in her kennel and if I come get her they would skip over her and go on to the next patient. I told them she hadn’t had anything to drink or eat all day because she wasn’t feeling well. They said she has water in her kennel which was a lie because when we finally got home she drank water from her bowl twice for a very long time. When they finally saw her they said she had a UTI and Gastrointestinal infection, they gave me antibiotics for her for only 5 days. When she came out of the hospital she was confused, and out of it. They gave her something because when she got home she layed down and passed out with her eyes Open but back in her head, I’ve never seen her do that. Today is day 5 she’s still having UTI symptoms so I called the hospital to ask them for at least 5 more days of antibiotics, they told me she needed to be seen for a urin culture, I said I just spent $1300 there and 6 hours and they didn’t do a Urin culture?? She said no they didn’t, but I was billed for one. Do Not take your animal here! The Animal Hospital in Riverhead is 100% better. Now I have to take off from my new job to take my dog to her normal vet to get a urin culture and pay even more money. This hospital is a nightmare! If you love your pet take it somewhere else!

In a nutshell I had to bring my beloved cat, Thumper, in to be euthanized. She had gone downhill rapidly and I didn’t want her to suffer waiting for the regular vet to open. This vet and her staff could not have been more a sympathetic or sweeter. They let my mother and I be with Thumper when it was time, and let us know about our all our options ahead of time. I highly recommend this place if you have a pet emergency. AGAIN—the Vet is absolutely wonderful.

I am absolutely in shock and horror at my experience at AES. I am absolutely disgusted with their lack of care. Do not come here, they are only in it for the money. The first red flag was the 45 minute wait to see my puppy, this place should not be called emergency. But maybe it was an exceptionally busy night, I can understand. I brought in my 3 month old golden retriever puppy because she has been vomiting all day and not eating. They did their procedure (I'm not sure how thoroughly) and took one X-ray of my puppy (but claimed they did 2), charging us incredibly high prices, and told us there was a foreign body in her small intestines. They hospitalized her and gave her IV for the whooping price of $1,400. Insane. While I understand that this is an emergency clinic, this was for nothing because she was sent to surgery as the IV did absolutely nothing. They told us the price for her surgery was estimated to be $3600-$4500, so we went to an animal hospital and their prices were literally half of that. I brought my puppy to the hospital, they sedated her, opened her up and called me and told me "there is no foreign body in her." I called AES back and they said they could provide no compensation and simply said that they sent X-rays to a radiologist. Regardless, they treated my puppy with no care whatsoever, and it was definitely their job to double check with my puppy under their care, however they are taking no blame by saying they don't see anything wrong with what they did. Someone had definitely messed up and are not telling the whole story to the manager who was supposed to provide us with some sort of compensation. The surgeon from the hospital told me that with radiology, you can immediately identify an object but AES told me they had no idea what it was, and still allowed for a surgery on a 3 month old to happen. As I said earlier, they claimed they had done two X ray, before and after IV treatment, but I have received my bill and in fact, only 1 X ray was done, and proceeded to suggest surgery. This left me in disbelief at the fact that they did not even fully do their job and lie to my face and tell me they did. Not to mention, all the terrible reviews have said similar things to me, and their responses to these reviews are just a copy and paste. Save your money, go somewhere else.

I brought my cat Precious here for an infected and swollen eye in July. The staff were gracious in answering my questions and explaining how to administer meds. The vet asked me if I wanted a blood test, which I declined. They took good care of my cat. I followed up with my vet and within 7-10 days she was cured. I was concerned of the cost because emergency care is very expensive, but I was surprised the cost was less than I thought, just under $500. I would definitely use AES in the future, if needed.

Don’t take your pet here! They just are in it for the money. I brought my lab in when he cut his paw pad. They gave him stitches and wrapped it up and gave him medication. Told us to come back every 4 days to clean which they charged us $150 each visit. This went on for two weeks. Then they told us they would have to amputate his toe! We grabbed our dog and told them not to touch him! We took him to the north shore animal league. They told us they should Never had stitched his paw and he didn’t need all the medicines they made us give him. They wrapped it in gauze and told Is it would heal within two weeks. To leave it alone. We brought him back to north shore for a follow up and his paw is perfectly perfect!

I brought my cat (Pudy) here because he had a mass on his left back paw that was bleeding. It had to be removed and he had to stay overnight to get hydrated. Yes - there was a wait and yes - it is expensive but I am a healthcare worker and if you understand this is like an Emergency Department (except for dogs and cats) and sometimes you have to wait. Just like people EDs. I thought the care was wonderful. I thought Dr. Mackey and especially Dr. Sebor were spot on. I would never hesitate to go back there. Care and people are very caring great

I had to bring my dog into the emergency hospital due to an allergic reaction. My dog Nash was seen quickly and they took excellent care of him. I am thankful that Animal Emergency Service hospital is here and I highly recommend them. My dog was feeling much better and he loves them.

Charged $360 (!) to loosen a flea collar. (It had been put on so tightly after a dental cleaning by vet assistants at a different animal hospital that our dog couldn't breathe. They couldn't figure it out, and drove our dog to AES). We had a really unpleasant interaction with one of the co-owners--he seemed to be angry that my wife was beside herself that someone had nearly strangled Max. Would never have gone there if it had been up to us--place has a reputation of looking for anyway they can to charge for extra services. But to be fair, this vet did know to take off the collar, a skill not apparently shared by all veterinarians (judging by our previous experience). And it must be exhausting dealing with human owners day in and day out who insist that their pets are the most important things in the world, accompanied by all their anxiety. It is surely much easier to just be compassionate with the pets and to ignore the owners' emotions

I brought my dog in after seeing another vet and she was diagnosed with kennel cough. The wait time was ridiculously long but the staff was friendly, good with my dog, attentive to my concerns, and didn’t push unnecessary x-rays or diagnostics.
