DONT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY BY VISITING HERE. CAUSE U ARE NOT GOING TO MEET ANYONE. THEY DONT EVEN CARE TO UPDATE TIME AND DAY OR FULL INFORMATION IN THIS PANDEMIC. Please call them before visiting this location. They said dont have to take appointment for picking up prescription. 3 time information get failed. Very irresponsible. We visit three times physically but three time was not able to get medication. So now order from chewy. In website Location is open today from 11amto 3pm. But they are close. Please don't be lazy to update. waste other time and money. Update your day and time even in short notice.cause as u dont have time to update your location and time someone wasting their money and time in this pandemic.

Just leaving a closed vet’s place in 30 degrees with two six months old kitties. Called about a week ago to make an appointment after reading some Nice reviews online and decided to take my two new cats to their first check up. Called and the lady at first was very nice and even helped me with all my questions. Told me to come Tuesday , today, at 7:30pm (which I was foolish to believe since I got no confirmation oir anything). Got here today, place looks closed so I call, the woman answers again, with the worst attitude in the world. Ask her about my appointment, “Not for today you don’t. Today we close at 6:30” . Hung up before she could make it worse. Worst care I’ve ever seen. Definitely not coming back to my “supposed appointment”.

Compassionate caring staff in a reasonably priced (non profit) local clinic... Took such good care of my 13 year old cat who was in end stage renal failure. The doctors are knowledgeable and patient, the office manager is considerate and truly cares about the animals (and humans!) he deals with. I would highly recommend the Astoria Animal Society to anyone with a beloved pet.

First visit was a wonderful experience, Dr. Is great, attendant great, prices excellent. Caring people.this vet is recommended 100 percent. Take your pet here. This is what Astoria needs. Not a rip off for money. But a loving vet family.

It is so good to have a local veterinarian in the neighborhood. She was very kind and gentle with my dog and I thought the place was very clean. The service is great we had almost no wait time. Very reasonable prices !

The worst vet office I’ve ever been too and not more affordable. The receptionist/manager is extremely rude, unprofessional and nosy. The vet was very sweet, however she is very you g and didn’t offer me any sound advice for my dog. In addition, the office is extremely small and a bit creepy, doesn’t feel like a clean, sterile environment.

Had a bad experience at this vet and will never return. They don't seem very knowledgeable about preventative care for animals and instill a lot of fear into their clients. This place smells awful and doesn't look clean.

I would like to preface this review by saying that I had been coming here for about a year- Diane, all the vet techs/assistants and Dr. Tibbatts have been extremely kind, accommodating, thorough, and professional. They took their time trying to get my dog comfortable which I greatly appreciated. Because of all this, and the fact that they are very affordable, I used to recommend them to all my coworkers and friends until my last experience there this past October. I was flying to Colombia with my dog and needed an international health certificate. There is only one doctor there who has the accreditation to do this: Dr. Cohen (whom I had never seen before since she only worked there on Fridays). When we initially arrived for our appointment, I overheard the office manager (Justin) conversing with staff about how they needed to speak to this doctor because she was always running late. We waited about 30-40 mins just for the doctor to arrive. In the meantime, Diane and Justin printed out the forms I might need the doctor to fill out. We weren't sure about one of the forms but Justin affirmed that the doctor would know what we needed. When we finally went in to see the doctor, her manner was very brusque and I felt like she was trying to force me to buy things we didn't really need (a different brand of flea/tick medicine because the brand we use supposedly isn't good). She ended up filling out one form. When the vet tech/assistant asked her about the second form (titled "Veterinary Health Certificate for Export of Dogs and Cats from the US to Colombia"), Dr. Cohen waved it off saying that we wouldn't need it; that she'd been doing this for years and had never seen that form. When I told her that I had read online that the certificate would have to be filed electronically by her since the APHIS office only accepts electronic endorsement, she again waved me off with the same excuse. She said I would have to bring the certificate to JFK for endorsement. When I called JFK to make the appointment, they confirmed what I had read online- that the certificate could only be filed electronically. I called Astoria Animal Society and Diane told me to get in touch with Justin via email. At first, I asked if there was anyway he could have Dr. Cohen submit the certificate online, he simply insisted that I was wrong and had to go to JFK. He claimed he and Dr. Cohen have been doing this for years and know what they're talking about (apparently he is under the erroneous impression that policies/documentation needed never change). I then called the APHIS office in Albany and a man named Jay not only confirmed that the certificate had to be endorsed electronically, but that the certificate the doctor had filled out was actually the incorrect one. The correct one was the form the doctor waved off. I emailed Justin back with this new information and asked him to kindly reimburse the $150 I paid for the certificate since it was clearly the wrong one and I was now forced to see another vet who could fill out the correct form and submit it electronically. This is when he turned rude and unprofessional. He claimed he "spoke to JFK and Columbia [sic]" and still insisted I was wrong. He went on to blame me for not bringing the correct form in the first place and steadfastly claimed he would not reimburse me. Mind you, I wasn't even asking to be reimbursed for the office exam fee or the flea/tick medicine the doctor practically forced me to buy. I merely asked to be reimbursed $150 for the incorrect travel document I was given. I have never been treated so rudely by a business and no longer feel comfortable going there or recommending their practice because of the terrible experience I endured with Justin.

Amazing care! I just came back with from a visit with my 2 dogs. Both dogs were being a-holes and not easy to examine. The doctor and assistant were amazing! They were so patient and kind. I finally found a permanent vet in the area! I recommend you take your pet here. The prices are also extremely reasonable and they obviously don’t try to rip you off. I’m so glad I found this gem!
